Brightside Heating Ltd has changed its trading name to Brightside Heating Services Ltd as from 01.04.2017.

We offer a wide range of expert solutions for gas boilers, heating repair and servicing.

We can even diagnose some faults over the telephone, saving valuable time and money for our customers.

Established in 2001, a family run business, we have built a solid reputation throughout the Medway towns and surrounding areas, and we take pride in offering a one-stop-shop that you can rely on to be efficient, professional and competitively priced for the repair of your heating system.

As Gas Safe registered gas and central heating engineers, we can handle all types of gas boiler and heating system repairs and servicing, gas safety inspections for landlords etc, replacement radiators, cylinders, controls, power flushing and descaling, insurance emergency work and letting agencies.

We can also offer annual maintenance contracts which includes an annual service. See our options plans.

Home emergency insurance claim through insurers to locate and repair leak

We had an emergency cover plan from our insurers and after discovering leaking water they referred us to Brightside. The initial contact from the Brightside office was immediate, polite and helpful. We were delighted that the plumber came out this morning promptly as promised. Rob was polite and informative as discussed next steps as he investigated the source of the leak. Rob diagnosed and fixed the leak and provided more long term advice to reduce the risk of further issues in years to come. So impressed were we that we are that we are going to use Brightside for our next service and for the future works. I recommend Brightside.

I always receive a call to advise my central heating boiler is due for its annual service. I agreed to a service after being advised of cost plus VAT, a convenient time, date and the name of the engineer. Paul always protects my working surfaces. is a tidy and clean worker. He asked if I had experienced any problems with the boiler or system since the last service. He carried out several operation tests and checks with boiler working. All results were listed on the Maintenance/ Service Check List. At the conclusion of the service Paul ensured the are of the test was clean and the boiler returned to its pre-test condition.

Brightside have been servicing our hot water tank since 2018. They are always reliable, helpful and cheerful. I usually ask them to give our hot water tank an annual check-up and service. They appear when they say they will and carry out the work efficiently, according to the schedule and on budget, noticing things that need doing and getting them done. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to family and friends.

We have used Brightside Heating Services ever since becoming fed up with British Gas some years ago. They carry out an annual service on our Worcester boiler and a Gazco room heater. Often they call well in advance to arrange a date for the service; this time I got to call them first. The service is always completed within an hour. The usual engineer who calls knows our system very well. Communication is always excellent. This time a different engineer carried out the service and he was as attentive to detail and kept us informed. I can't recommend this company highly enough.

I have dealt with Brightside Heating Services for several years and have always found them reliable, providing a high level of service. The level of expertise demonstrated by their engineers has always been first class; they are friendly, respectful and careful around the house. As my wife and I are both in our eighties, this is much appreciated. The engineers always take care with their work and always tidy up after completion. I was ultimately satisfied with the boiler service made today. Sam appeared to be knowledgeable and competent. However the price quoted prior to the visit was incorrect as the wrong parts had been ordered. The cost was now £50 more! Brightside did agree to a reduction of £20 and as the correct parts were on the vehicle there was no delay in finishing the job. I could only suggest that any parts needed are checked more carefully in the future. As this is the first issue that I've had with this company I'll still give them a good rating.

After being advised by a friend to change our boiler and heating cover to Brightside recently, we unfortunately had to to use their services today. A very efficient and knowledgeable engineer arrived today who within minutes new exactly what the problem was which was remedied quickly. He explained to the wife both the problem and the fix, tested and left the system working. We are both OAP’s and grateful for an efficient cost effective and clean service and would recommend Brightside to anyone looking for boiler/heating servicing cover. 👍

We’ve used Brightside for many years for boiler services and maintenance. Paul kept our old boiler going way beyond its retirement age. He is friendly, efficient, and can always be relied on to fix anything extra he sees while he is there - or advises what to do until a time for a return visit has been booked. The team back in the office are always helpful too, and the the yearly call to remind us about the service being due and book a slot is very helpful. Highly recommended.

Paul is tidy, very polite, works very efficiently and quick. Answers any queries, as I wondered why my pressure dropped, he explained and advised what to do in future. Would personally recommend him within the company to anyone requiring work having listened to other jobs he has undertaken and the outcome of his work to these call outs. I would also feel safe in the knowledge he could enter the property even if I could not be there because of my work commitments. Hopefully I will not require his services until a years time!! but happy to have him should any problems arise in the future. Engineer Paul carried out the yearly service on my Baxi boiler and checked a radiator not heating up properly. The time schedule and cost were as agreed. Engineer was pleasant and helpful and carried out the work very efficiently. He advised regarding the radiator problem and I am quite happy with this going forward.

This is the third time I have used Brightside and I am very happy with the service they provide. I needed to have my domestic boiler serviced, and a leak in the supply pipe to a wash basin. I was given a clear estimate of the price for the boiler service and the labour cost for the pipe at the time of booking. Paul, their engineer, arrived at the specified time. He was friendly, polite, and left no mess whatsoever. The leaking pipe was quite tricky because of limited access, and he suggested he might have to cut into the wall behind the wash basin to replace the affected pipe. However, he also suggested there might be another way to do it without the need to open up the wall. Having obtained my permission to try, he then proceeded to quickly and efficiently resolve the matter and thus saved me expense and the need to redecorate. Again, he left the work area spotless. He also noted a problem with my water cylinder I had not been aware of, and which would have caused me problems and expense had he not pointed it out. He then provided me with a very detailed and clear invoice. Overall, I am very happy with Brightside's service and am confident to recommend them to others.

On the day Paul the engineer phoned to tell me he would be arriving in fifteen minutes if that was still okay. I was pleased he used a cover on the work surface under the boiler before taking off the boiler casing. He asked me if I had any concerns about the heating and hot provided by the boiler. I said it was functioning normally as far as I could tell. He switched the boiler on and carried out several checks on its operations eg hot water and flue exit function. I have known Paul for several years now when carrying out a service during which we chat about the condition of the boiler and its operation. He is confident the quality of his work, his knowledge about our boiler and comments on the checks as he carries them out. He charged me the amount advised when stated at booking.

We are happy to recommend Brightside Heating Services after today’s experience of their expertise, considerate manner and quick response. Their engineer, Mark, arrived at the agreed time and after phoning with his eta. He fixed the problem after explaining what had to be done and bathroom left clean afterwards. On the morning of my annual boiler service, Dave the engineer phoned me fifteen minutes before the appointment to confirm if it was still convenient to attend. He arrived at the time he said he would arrive. During the service, Dave was excellent completed all the work needed to be done, left the area clean and tidy. I have used other heating companies in the past, I have felt like they would suggest unnecessary work. The process of booking the service of the boiler was friendly and there were no problems finding a time slot. Paul the engineer arrived at the appointed time having phoned us 15 minutes before arriving. He carried out the work in good time and was able to identify a failing gasket and replace it. Due to an ongoing problem, I had an engineer visit twice. The office was easy to contact and all the staff were friendly and helpful. I felt valued as a Customer, listened to and nothing was too much trouble. Paul came round to do my annual boiler service. I have had some problems with my boiler for a couple of years that previous engineers weren't able to identify. Not only did Paul service my boiler as agreed, but he was able to identify the other problems and fix them! He was very polite, friendly and respectful of my property. He had a positive attitude and was knowledgeable enough to resolve issues that others couldn't. Payment was easy - No awkwardness, very relaxed. Paul gave me an invoice explaining all the work he had done and said I should call the office when I get a chance to sort out the payment. I called as soon as he left and spoke to a very polite gentleman who processed the payment and emailed me a receipt. I will certainly continue to use Brightside Heating Services for my annual boiler service and also if I have any other needs that they can support.

Dave was fantastic. On first meeting him you could tell instantly that no job would be a problem for him. He replaced a cartridge on a Burlington concealed shower unit, which was a bit of a tricky job. The numerous plumbers we contacted prior, just didn’t want to know or let us down as these units aren’t the easiest to work with apparently. Dave came across an issue which he took the time to come and discuss with me rather than put everything back and make excuses as to why it couldn’t be done. He worked his way round it and now we have a fully functioning hot shower again!! Can’t thank Dave enough. Even the office staff Anita and Gary were super helpful. Thank you

All work was discussed and agreed in advance, with time taken to explain why certain parts/services were necessary. All staff were very professional. I had a problem with my hot water. Brightside Heating called me within 15 minutes after I had called my Saga Home Emergency Insurance. Adviser said that engineer is expected to attend to-day if possible. Engineer Stuart called at 17:00 and arrived at 17:30. Very polite, knew the problem, fixed problem within half an hour. Excellent service. Thoroughly recommend this Company.

Having had problems with my boiler since 16th December with 3 visits from British Gas and 3 new circuit boards my boiler was still not working properly. Called British Gas for the 4th time on Saturday 9th January to be told their engineers were on strike and they would send a contractor out to me.This is where Brightside come into the picture! Chris was so polite and helpful and found the problem in no time at all and it wasn’t a faulty circuit board. I would highly recommend Brightside Heating and am going to change my maintenance contract to this company in future

Had a leak in my heating system, called my insurance company for an emergency call-out which which Brightside Heating Services are a supplier. The engineer called to give me notice that her was on his way, when arrived he had his mask on and kept it on the entire time he was at my address. He explained what he was going to do before he done it and explained what he found and how he was going to repair the issue. Great service, would definitely use again.

This job was done through my insurance company, and at first, sent out a different company who did some work but the boiler was still playing up I eventually got an appointment with Brightside. Dave turned up on time, got straight on with the job after I told him the problem. Found the system needed a new 2 port valve of which he had one with him. he fitted the new valve sorted his stuff and paperwork and was gone All in 40 minutes Job done. No-fuss and heating has been fine ever since I will recommend keeping their number close to the boiler

I've used Brightside a number of times, and have had them service our boiler each year since it was replaced in 2016. Today Jamie came to service the boiler. He was very polite and efficient and he even kindly bled a couple of the upstairs radiators for me which needed doing. This is the first year we have used their service plan to pay for the service and I would highly recommend that too. A small monthly payment meant the service was all paid for upfront and no hidden extra costs - makes things much simpler. Will definitely use again and highly recommend.

The engineer that attended our property was polite, efficient and explained the problem in easy terms that made sense to us as lay persons. First visit isolated & fixed 2 problems & got boiler working again. Had to order a new part - Christmas & New Year intervened with this. However date & time was given. Our 14 year old boiler required the replacement of an expansion vessel hidden at the back of the boiler. The boiler was removed from the wall and the new vessel installed within 2.5 hours. It is now working well and silently with no leak! The person who undertook this task with pleasant good humour, has done a very good job.

My insurance company let me down when logging my call, so Brighgtside only received very late yesterday. I called Brightside to confirm and they were very helpful and clearly understood my situation. Had a call this morning (03-10-2018) that "Breakdown Engineer" would be arriving within 15mins. All I can say is very prompt from the start. The engineer that arrived clearly had the experience, knowledge and much more and was clear in what he was doing to find the root of the problem to resolve. Problem was fixed and was reassured all was okay.

An engineer called yesterday, I believe he was called Paul, on an emergency call through my insurance company. My heating was playing up after work being carried out about three weeks ago. The engineer solved and corrected the problem and was very professional. He explained everything to me and was happy to go through the controls with me and alter them for me. I was very impressed with his patience and tolerance with a person who was at the end of her tether with the problems with my heating! Well done Bright side.

Just had my first annual check up and service for my Joules Non- Vented Cylinder. Paul was polite and quietly efficient, answered all my questions about this heating system and even gave some sound advice for my boiler settings (not part of the contract). I, like others feel confident in this company's abilities and am seriously thinking of switching my Ariston Boiler servicing away from the current provider.

Brightside were sent by my insurance company to drain down a leaking hot water tank and make my property safe. The engineer arrived in just over an hour and carried out a thoroughly professional job. I asked the company to quote for a replacement tank which I accepted. They arrived within two working days and once again provided a very professional service. I was kept informed at every stage and the engineers always called to let me know their plans and when they expected to arrive. Very nice people who work hard for their customers. I would use this company again.

We called Brightside Monday morning at 9am, they said they would get back to us with a time they could get to us. Just after 10am they called to ask if we would be in as they were on there way. The guy that came was polite and got started on the problem straight away. He told us up front want the charge rates were, He quickly diagnosed the problem and said how much it would be to repair. He recommended we look into fitting a mgnet and also getting our system flushed through as it is over 11 years old. We don't get it serviced regularly as you, but he said that it looked in good condition and that it could do with a clean up. This was all reassuring as we fully expected them to say that it coudn't be repaired. He said if we followed the recommendations there is no reason why our boiler shouldn't last another 5/6 years. We are waiting on the written quote and will get the work done in the spring when we hope the weather will be better. Thoroughly recommend this company, and trust the information we are given.

Had a leaking boiler 7 months ago and they came and repaired it. No problem with the work. It started to leak again a few weeks ago, was the initial job not done correctly? I don't know. Book another appointment for Friday after 1pm. Fine so somebody was home for then. They ring Friday afternoon and unfortunately the call was missed, then they call 5 minutes later to say sorry we're leaving the area you'll have to book another appointment. Why not just come round as agreed. Not good.

Dear Paul74 Firstly we are sorry to hear you are disappointed with the service our company offers. I would like to explain that as a company, prebooked work, and due to the large geographical area our engineers cover, it is our policy that the engineer will call to advise when they are about to attend site. We also advise the client of this. The engineer did try to call but no response, he then called our office and we also tried to call you, but no reply. At this point we then instructed the engineer to move to his next job, unfortunately out of your area. The boiler will have several water carrying components and any of them could fail at anytime. We would not be able to comment until we could investigate where the leak is coming from. Parts fitted would be covered under warranty for 12 months. So if leak is related we would cover this, but if unrelated then any repairs would be chargeable. As the new leak happened some 7 months after the original then it may well be a completely different issue Paul, over the weekend we have tried to contact you but without success. We would be happy to discuss your individual case with you to achieve a satisfactory resolution. Our contact details are 01634 372180 within office hours.

Office staff have been excellent - they arranged the service for me instead of me having to make a phone call. Engineer checked our boiler using his skill and inspection. Brightside have just undertaken their first ( my eighth) service of my Ariston Comfort Unvented Cylinder. The service was thorough and efficient and all my questions on this type of heating system were answered. The cost was competitive and no unnecessary replacement of the scale reducer was undertaken. I'm now going to switch to Brightside for my annual boiler service !

Brightside technicians have maintained my boiler over the past few years, during which time I have developed a high level of trust and confidence in their expertise to diagnose and repair boiler problems. This is combined with their prompt and professional service. Following a recent callout, the tecnician arrived within 3 hours, he quickly diagnosed the fault and ordered replacement parts. Waking up to find a pool of water on the lounge carpet is not a good experience, especially just before New Years Eve! A friend recommended Brightside Heating so I gave them a ring. They immediately gave me advice on isolating the faulty radiator and an engineer was booked for the following day. The engineer was competent and friendly but could only make a temporary repair as a new radiator was required. He returned the following week and completed the fix with the new radiator. At all times the company kept me fully informed of the situated and I have no hesitation in recommending this small friendly company. They certainly provided me with excellent service.

Phoned at Approx 9am to request an Engineer to attended to repair my boiler. Was advised Engineer would attend today and would phone when on way. Chris the Engineer called 30mins prior to attending. Chris was very polite, professional and tidy. Chris diagnosed the fault within minutes of being at my property and my boiler was back up and running soon after the required part (pcb) was installed. He also repaired a minor leak within the boiler before testing it was safe to continue using. I would 100% recommend this company and will be requesting an annual service soon

I phoned Brightlight around midday and asked for an engineer to fix my boiler as soon as possible. The lady on the phone was so helpful and cheerful. Chris the engineer rang at 3pm to let me know he was on his way and turned up about 3.15pm. He was polite, friendly and professional. He diagnosed the fault straight away and was able to repair it there and then. It took just over an hour and I now have hot water and heating again! I would not hesitate to recommend Brightside to friends and family.

Chris Rainham Kent 28.09.15 Contacted Brightside Heating Ltd and was able to discuss fault which they virtually diagnosed over the phone. Attended the same afternoon. Advised before hand on attendance time and were on time. Found fault, fully advised on required repair and cost.Brightside appear to keep limited spares so were able to fully repair there and then. Very professional, courteous and tidy.Would highly recommend.
