Probably the best experience I've had with a builder/plumber/carpenter. John can turn his hand to pretty much anything, and it's all done to a very high standard. John and his team are flexible and nice to have around, and take the stress out of the work - you definitely feel you are in safe hands. He worked alongside his daughter in law Danielle - a brilliant decorator - in my flat, and they both understood the issues immediately (a basement, a former rental property, slightly neglected...) and they've made it look incredible, and at a very reasonable price. I added to the work as we went along, and they accommodated all my requests. Having had one or two bad experiences with tradesmen, it was an immense relief to find them. They both worked hard to get the job done, and it helped that they knew how to work around each other. I highly recommend John and his team.

Had to sort out a replacement tap for my parents (I live in rented accommodation so am not familiar with directly contacting tradespeople myself and get a bit anxious about New Tasks With Social Interaction), got John/Candofix's number from this site and found him very understanding of/reassuring about my awkwardness about how to explain what we needed and so on. Work was done quickly and with a good level of clarity about what he was preparing to do/what he'd done at the end of the job, and the price was very reasonable indeed. Very happy, will definitely call again if we need future jobs done.

John from CandoFix, fixed a plumbing problem with my toilet and replaced a kitchen tap. He was responsive from my 1st phone contact. When he was on site he told me the progress he was making. He consulted with me when he ran into a couple unexpected issues, and together we agreed additional work prior to him proceeding. All resolved now, and bath and kitchen plumbing working better than it ever has. Very fortunate to have found this guy. Will definitely use again.

I had this problem with getting the correct flush apparatus for my toilet for months. I had consulted numerous professionals, including local hardware shops, but none of them could advise me. I emailed John, with a view to paying someone to just get it fixed, having seen his details here, and even though he was on holiday he replied that day, with a link to the exact part I needed, but didn’t know how to ask for it. And with no charge! Extremely impressed.

Although John couldn't do the job due to time constraints he responded straight away and then took the trouble to call me and give me advice about how to move forward.

John fixed our garden gate - he was efficient, professional, very pleasant to talk with and did a great job all around. We highly recommend him and are very happy with the work.

John saved us over £100 by advising a DIY solution to a loose-fitting pipe. Other traders were attempting to convince us to resolder, whereas John took a look and suggested we do it ourselves for £2 at Screwfix! Our experience so far sourcing work for renovations has been incredibly difficult. Second-guessing all the suspect/conflicting advice we're getting is becoming exhausting. Most people want to find a trader who they can rely on to give straight advice and work with over the long-term. Not spend countless hours trawling the internet/getting recommendations and quotes from every firm they can whenever there's work that needs doing. As far as a plumber goes - I think we've found our guy! Judging from the other reviews here, this wasn't anything out of the ordinary. We've got more work to do, and wouldn't hesitate to call John again.

Candofix carried out a wide range of work for me: they fitted a bath panel, fixed a broken sash window mechanism, eased the windows which had been stuck closed, repaired some sagging drawers, fixed and reinforced a drooping cupboard door, boxed in radiator pipes, painted a cupboard, touched up paintwork in the kitchen, redid the polyfiller in bathroom and kitchen. Everything was done with great care, immaculate work, and at a very fair price. Highly recommended.

John was fantastic. I sent him a message and he called me back within minutes to get a clearer understanding of the issue. I had moved into a new apartment and there were problems with the shower. He was very efficient, fixed the issue same day and I'm delighted with the outcome. Very nice guy.

John from Candofix has just fixed my daughters bathroom leak. Messaged him this morning and was lucky that he had a job in the area. Said he would be here within the hour, which he was. Fixed the leak, did an excellent job as always. John is a genuinely honest, decent man. He gets the job done quickly efficiently and doesn’t charge the earth. I have used John twice now for multiple jobs around my new flat. Myself and my girlfriend couldn’t be happier with John and what he has done for us. From putting up a TV unit, curtain polls, floating shelves or installing a shower storage unit, John is fantastic. Nothing is ever too much work for him and he does it all with a smile on his face. He helped me diagnose a complex issue with a leaking toilet over the phone and after he visited the flat and fixed it he charged a reasonable price for his services. Rarely have I received such excellent customer service from a trader and I would recommend him in a heartbeat.

This is the second time I have used John and his team and I can honestly say they have provided an excellent service. I needed some urgent works on a flat and John made sure he delivered in what seemed an impossible time frame.

John was of great help, he replaced the pump in a very professional manner and advice me how to check it in case something wasn’t right with it. I would use him again without hesitation.

Installation of a new shower, broken toilet flush changed and a broken electrical socket changed. Arrived as agreed and the gentleman behaved impeccably. From wiping his feet, offering to remove his boots in the house, working in a methodical and tidy way, then taking the old/broken items away. All charged at the Candofix reasonable rates. They are a brilliant company and we can't thank them enough. Always very, very happy with the service.

On the morning of the 24th December my shower would not switch off and so the water mains had to be turned off. Not an ideal scenario when I was about to have guests over to stay and cook for our Christmas celebration that evening. I called numerous 24 hour/weekend plumbers. Many were not working and those that were could not wait to take advantage of my dilemma and fleece me and be rude to boot. I made one last desperate phone call and got hold of John. He assured me that he would find a way to fit me in. He kept me updated by text throughout the day and he arrived when he said he would. I could not have wished for a better Christmas present - despite many jobs and still needing to do his Christmas shopping he fitted me in, fixed the shower and did this with unbridled joy, patience and kindness. It was a wonderful and powerful reminder, of the human capacity for kindness and big heartedness - something the world needs so much more of. Thank you John!

This company is extremely professional, reliable and courteous. They approach all work with a positive, can do attitude which is a breath of fresh air in the London services market. Very clean workers, efficient and excellent value for money . Have used twice already in the last couple of weeks and are now my go to company for all future jobs I need doing. Would 100% recommend.

John McDonagh came promptly to quote on adding high trellis to an end wall. Lee spent a day putting up the trellis in the most careful and thoughtful way, working with great effectiveness around difficulties caused by abundant tree branches, weak bits of wall etc. Things were explained and consulted on as necessary and the work was carried out at all times with great politeness and good humour. The job was beautifully done. John returned to check it and fixed a faulty door closer on his way out. Top notch.

Paul came at the agreed time to rehang the bathroom door that was hanging off its hinges. Then he moved and fixed some bookshelves. At every stage he explained what he was doing and why, which I appreciated - and then he cleaned up properly. I liked the clear pricing, too. Altogether, Candofix is to be commended.
