I have always been completely satisfied with this company, all the men are very courteous and knowledgeable. A very pleasant company to deal with always helpful and obliging when I ring.

We had a dodgy bathroom install two years ago and have had a toilet which didn’t flush properly and leaked since then. Despite trying to get the original company back (and two other plumbers) the problems remained until Chelmsford Plumbing and Heating came and diagnosed the complex problem and fixed it. They were very professional and as a family run business they also cared about our situation and did the repair quickly. Highly recommended

CPH fitted an induction hob in my kitchen, to replace a gas hob that needed replacing due to a suspected leak in the gas pipe work (hidden under floors / behind cabinets). This is a small job and it was difficult to find a contractor to show any interest in it, until I tried CPH. They showed interest, were responsive and the job itself was executed well.

I initially chose Chelmsford Plumbing & Heating LTD in May 2017 when they removed a warm air heating system and installed a boiler and radiators. It was a big job but I was so impressed with their efficient and organised working that I have used them ever since for all plumbing and electrical works. In addition they continue to service the boiler. The engineers are always punctual, explain what they are doing and finish the work to a high standard They offer excellent advice to all questions I ask. I would also like to say that the office staff are extremely helpful. An excellent company.

We had to have a new oil CH boiler installed to replace one that was beyond repair. Over the 3 days it took the engineers to complete the task they always arrived on time, were extremely polite and courteous and made sure everything was spotless before they left each day. They also took the trouble to explain exactly what they were doing and how to use the new system Owing to the age of the previous system some remedial work was requires to meet current standards . This was undertaken without adding to the original estimated cost . One could not fault them .

We had a new unvented hot water and central heating system installed over two days. Having had two dreadful previous experiences with other plumbing companies, we were very nervous, but Martin put us at ease and he and his team did an outstanding job in terms of quality of the installation and professionalism throughout. We were very impressed with Chelmsford Heating and Plumbing from the outset to conclusion of the work. We were given a very helpful review of what was required for our new heating and hot water system together with a comprehensive quote. The work was started and finished on schedule and the two fitters worked in such a way as to cause as little disruption as possible whilst also being polite and friendly. We had a minor issue the day after installation but someone came out very quickly to look at the issue and whilst not able to remedy it immediately, came back later in the day and sorted it all out, particularly bearing in mind this was the day before Christmas Eve and they should have finished work. We would not hesitate to recommend their services.

We had our extremely old gas fire and boiler serviced today and are very pleased with the service. The fire was 'taken apart' and thoroughly cleaned and tested; we were also given advice about maintenance. The boiler was also thoroughly cleaned and tested. We have these tested annually and this was without doubt the most thorough service we've received. We are extremely impressed with the professional service and definitely recommend.

The company recently installed a new gas boiler and water cylinder in my house. The work was carried out very efficiently and on time, by very competent tradesmen. They were very polite and friendly, arrived on time, and left no mess whatsoever. Everything was clearly explained, and and the system is now running well. I needed a new pair of bathroom sink taps to be fitted, I had already purchased these elsewhere as I wanted them to match my bathroom suite. The engineer arrived promptly, was very polite, knew exactly what I had asked for and got straight to work. Job completed swiftly, everything left clean and tidy, went the extra mile to sort everything I had concerns over. Reasonable price for the work involved. The job was booked in to be done within a few days of me calling them as my old tap was dripping. I have used them many times in the past for a variety of jobs including boiler replacement and servicing over many years. They have never let me down and the service is always impeccable. When our old domestic heating boiler failed we had a number of quotations for new boiler and system revisions, of which CPH were not the cheapest but were by far the most professional. The new installation was carried out efficiently by polite and knowledgeable personnel who took care to explain the new system controls and function to us. We have no hesitation in recommending this company to others.

We have used Chelmsford Plumbing & Heating Ltd on a number of occasions now (changing a tap, servicing a gas boiler and power flushing the central heating system), and in each case we have found them to be first class in every way. Their representatives (both in the office and those carrying out the work) have at all times been most polite, competent and efficient, and we are now asking them to carry out some further non-essential works for us. We would thoroughly recommend this firm.

I needed the existing wiring for a new electric oven and hob installation to be upgraded to meet the latest statutory requirements. The CPH electrician arrived at the agreed time to assess the current wiring arrangements, and based on the power requirements of the new equipment, calculated what was required and took me through it in detail. The price was agreed and the work carried out a few days later. The electrician was totally professional and carried out the work quickly and efficiently and made an excellent job of cleaning up after. The new equipment has been installed by the suppliers electrician who said he was appreciative of the manner of the cabling installation. Overall, this was a first class service that I have come to expect from CPH over many years. This includes two boiler installations, annual servicing and emergency plumbing call out.

I had used CPH previously as they were one of the only companies which supported my Boilermate 2000. So when I discovered on my return to the house after being away the Boilermate had let go in a big way. I contacted CPH and an engineer was there the day after to isolate the Boliermate and review what was needed to replace it. The quote was generated very quickly and explained in great detail. The following week there was attendance on site to remove the old system to then be replaced with the new one. There were two plumbers for two days and an electrician for half a day. The standard of workmanship is to the highest standard with a very neat job carried out. A comment made by the engineer who carried out the work was, "I am only happy with the installation if I would have it in my house". What a great approach to your work. In short, a very impressive service from first contact to completion of work. Well done all at CPH as this is a team effort

We have now used CPH several times now and will continue to use them. We recently had a Worcester Bosch external oil fired boiler installed (August 2021), a family shower unit installed a few years ago. We decided to have our current gas warm air system replaced with a Johnson and Starley ‘Aquair’ unit, who recommended us to CPH. After meeting with Martyn Clark it was proposed and accepted to have an electric boiler and unvented cylinder installed in the loft to replace our current warm air system. The enquiry and survey stages went smoothly, the office staff were a pleasure to deal with and the quotation was through and accurate. The installation was well planned and navigated, the installation team were very professional and the pipework from ‘Lewis’ is worthy of special mention as being very neat I am very pleased with the system design and performance and would not hesitate to recommend Chelmsford Plumbing and Heating for any of my plumbing and heating needs

We can’t recommend CPH highly enough. An extremely professional outfit in all regards. Having used the company for many years for regular boiler services and general plumbing maintenance we decided it was time to upgrade our boiler. It has just been fitted (along with some other pipework and heating system maintenance) and we are delighted with the workmanship. Nothing was too much trouble for Will who kept us up to speed at every stage of the project and politely answered our (numerous!) questions throughout the day. He provided us with various options along the way such as where to position pipes to ensure we ended up with the most aesthetically pleasing fitting rather than the quickest for him to install. Electrician Rob was also great taking time to run us through the operation of Hive. A big shout out goes to Martyn too who priced up the work and then a couple of days later went above and beyond dashing around to our house when we had an unexpected leak. He drained down the heating system and in doing so helped us avoid significant water damage. The pipe was repaired within a few hours by Rhys who was courteous and professional. I have used Chelmsford Plumbing before for small jobs and been pleased but when it came to a big job like replacing a boiler and tank wasn't sure whether to have my oil supplier or not. Decided to go with my local company and so pleased I did. The whole job, from beginning to end was excellent and i don't say that lightly. Lewis, the installer arrived promptly and straight away was very helpful on any issues i had. He continued to be efficient, polite and very tidy, also knowledgeable in every aspect of the replacement. Rob the electrician was also helpful and polite. Following Steve’s visit we received a quote a couple of days later. Steve himself was friendly professional and personable. We also had further quotes from different companies but went with CH&P. Four weeks later Will and Harrison arrived bright and early to carry out the works. We needed a new boiler, 2 new radiators fitted, valves and pump plus a new expansion tank . Both Will and Harrison were very friendly, professional and polite. They dismantled the old boiler from the kitchen which was no easy job and then took floorboards up in the lounge and dining room for the new pipe work as our new boiler was being fitted in an understairs cupboard. Mess was kept to a minimum. There was a possibility that our Amtico floor may have to be removed but fortunately Will managed to connect the pipes without this happening. Both radiators were fitted and the works were completed in 2 days. Both lads worked very hard and barely stopped. Highly recommend this company .

The initial approach for this job was prompt, the work required was assessed and a price provided within 1 day. They were able to offer an early date which we accepted. We are very satisfied with the Powerflush and heating works carried out by Lewis. He completed the work within the specified 2 days and was very professional, clean and tidy with all aspects of the contract. A credit to the business.

Recently, we have installed an unvented cylinder. It was a very smooth and a painless experience. At the beginning, Martyn advised and quoted. Martyn is very knowledgeable and we felt that he took enough interest to do the job. Rhys carried out the job of the installation. He has done the job very effectively and neatly. He even came after completion of the work to fix a door of an access with a big smile! In addition of these technical works, Amy(Administrator), who amazingly had managed all communication and paper works so effectively. A big Thank You to the team.

All new system fitted, which included: Worcester Bosch Boiler, pressurised hot water tank & expansion vessels; 14 new radiators, towel rail and a complete Evohome system. The Team (Lewis, Harrison & Rob) were brilliant, efficient, highly skilled, friendly and polite. They completed the job on schedule in 5 days and even managed to ensure we had hot water (via immersion heater) every night Everything was cleaned up tidied away each night and the team had real pride in their work. This is the second time I have used CHP, previously they installed a new system in my elderly Father in Laws bungalow. I have no absolutely no hesitation in recommending CHP.

The 2 operatives arrived exactly at 8.00 am and completed the installation at 4.00 pm as programmed. The access to the existing pipework was very restricted, however they found a solution which meant them working safely within a small but confined and uncomfortable space. This they did with a well mannered attitude, being efficient, tidy and professional throughout. An excellent job, all carried out to a high standard and as scheduled in their quotation and I won't hesitate in recommending them for future work.

Great work from the guys at CPH today removing old and installing new boiler. They arrived promptly at 8am and it was all done by 4pm. These guys and girls were amazing. My mothers boiler broke and we thought it would require replacing. Following a call explaining the situation an engineer arrived the same day to check the boiler and agreed it needed to be replaced. Within 3 days the new boiler was installed and up and running. My mum is 84 and sadly panics about everything but she was very happy with what was done, the installation is neat and tidy and the engineer explained the new system to her very well, believe me that's not easy when you're dealing with a confused 84 year old. I can't thank the team enough, the ladies in the office and the guys I spoke to and dealt with were all excellent and I can't recommend them enough. Thank you very very much

We have used CPH for a number of years for regular gas boiler servicing, always efficient and pleasant to deal with. When the time came to replace the old leaking boiler we had no hesitation in asking CPH to do the work. Martyn came round promptly and discussed with us all our options taking into account our old idiosyncratic house. The 3 day installation was arranged very quickly and the two installers, Rhys and Harrison plus electrician Rob were a delight to have in the house, very professional, with a great customer focused attitude. Every care was taken to ensure no mess, and the job which included removing old water tanks from the loft and fitting the new boiler in a different position was completed very efficiently.

The work was done entirely to my satisfaction. The workman was extremely tidy and efficient using dust sheets and vacuumed all area’s on completion. Very satisfied.

We had a very old conventional boiler taken out of the kitchen and a new combi boiler installed in the garage, not a straightforward job. Lewis and Sam worked incredibly hard, removing the old boiler, together with the hot and cold water tanks and finished the job in three days. The power flush cleaned out all the sludge in the system, and we can't believe the difference, especially the water pressure in the shower. They cleared away all the rubbish and did a brilliant job. Highly recommended.

I was giving a quote for three options for a new boiler (external floor standing, external wall hung and external combi boiler), all quotes included removing the internal boiler and reparations. Plus an additional quote for 5 new rads + valves) All people carrying out the work (Lewis and Sam, plus electrician Rob and commissioning engineer Daryl) worked very hard and long days and everywhere was left clean and tidy when they left. I was consulted whenever a decision needed to be made and everything was carried out to a very high standard. The final invoice was as quoted and the works were also all complete within the stated time. Highly recommend.

Russell turned up today during the expected time slot - he’s researched the error code provided the day before when I booked and arrived with a spare part that helped get boiler working. Much appreciated by the Creak family who now have a working boiler again. 🙂

Very professional service from quotation to implementation. Their plumber knew exactly what was to be done and dealt sensibly with the few wrinkles that raised their heads on the day. All the work was completed on budget, so no surprises. Very pleased.

I can only commend the way these works were carried out. The engineer arrived on time and gave me a detailed report of how the new boiler would be installed. The works were carried out to a very high standard and I was impressed with the engineer. When the installation was completed there was a problem with the supply from the oil tank, nothing to do with their works I hasten to add, but a new valve was brought on site and fitted so the boiler could be fired up. Excellent work.

I had a new boiler installed with CPH which required some complex pipework. The installation took 3 days and the team were unfailingly polite, on time and kept me up to date with what they were doing at all times. Any problems were solved without fuss and they tidied up after themselves brilliantly. They also talked me through the new system in a way which I could understand! Never used this trader before but recommended by our Aga service man. We had a new hot water cylinder. Very happy with the result. Clean and tidy and very efficient.

CPH were on the list of installers recommended by the manufacturer (Honeywell) to install smart heating controls. They made 2 visits to discuss our requirements, the second to clarify and answer my questions. They arrived on time and on the specified day. The 2 people worked in a manner to minimise mess and disturbance to us and cleaned up thoroughly after. A minor problem found during the installation was rectified at no additional cost having discussed the alternative options. The system is working as expected but too early to think about reliability.

The company replaced a baxi Bermuda boiler with a combi. We went to them for advice on replacement given previous very professional boiler servicing and other work. There were options we hadn't thought of when considering what to do and the advice was very helpful. Over the years you learn the value of a trustworthy company. We felt cared for at both the advice stage and whilst work was being undertaken over three days. All staff were approachable, flexible and ready to answer questions. Timelines were kept and there was a notably respectful attitude to work being undertaken in a home environment. Flexibility included a willingness to discuss and adjust the location of pipework to suit our preferences. The company made it a very positive experience.

I needed to have my ground floor radiators replaced, repositioned and the pipework re-routed. It was not a simple job but CPH undertook it with great professionalism from start to finish. We've been running on an oil boiler which has been limping along for the last two years. Finally took the plunge to switch to gas. Chelmsford Plumbing and Heating have helped nurse the old boiler and their commitment and quality of work led us to ask them to quote replacing with gas. They provided guidance on the type of boiler and work to be done, explaining clearly everything that would happen with a competitive quote to remove the old boiler, tidy up the pipework and brickwork, fit the new boiler, including a power flush, and remove the oil tank from the garden. Job took nearly 3 full days, each day the team were prompt, organised and tidy. Throughout the work they kept me appraised of what was going on and each evening the house was left tidy. All in all, the whole end to end process was simple, efficient and confidence inspiring. For such a big job it couldn't have gone more smoothly. Would absolutely recommend CPH.

Our 36 year old boiler worked but hot and cold water tanks developed leaks. So at fairly short notice CPH Ltd agreed/arranged three days for the old system removal and installation of the 30i Worcester Bosch combi system. The £3,900 budget for all the work was adhered to. The young but skilled Rees lead his team well and routinely corrected a few minor errors with no fuss. Martyn, sales, was very good at addressing our concerns over the change to the modern combi system but, probably because of the short notice, forgot that the order of work meant that we would have no heating for two and a half days. Rees ensured that the work was kept tidy and restored anything necessary. CPH Ltd work a sensible "can do" approach and have been very helpful. They check that we are happy operating the new system.

Initial communication was great & appointment made to suit us. Engineer arrived early after a phone call from the office to see if okay. Engineer tried to resolve the problem but in the end had to replace the whole cistern but stuck with it until job completed. He also fitted an additional isolator valve for us at our request so we could turn off the water supply to this individual unit if needed Work done with minimal fuss, disruption & mess for which we are grateful Thanks CPH & will call again in the future (but hopefully not too soon in the nicest sense)

Okay service, took a bit of chasing though. Installers did an alright job but could do with being told to fit the tank level and have the means to be able to as its the first thing you notice. It's not a wonderful review but I'm just being honest.

Chelmsford Plumbing & Heating completed 2 jobs for us. The first was to remove existing storage heaters throughout the house and replace and fit with electric wall mounted heaters. This was a major job. The work was completed on time and within budget. The team were very skilled and also friendly and helpful. They ensured there was no mess and worked hard without breaks to get the job done as quickly as possible. The end result was so well done, we did not need to redecorate in any of the rooms. We were delighted with the work and have been very pleased with the heating system subsequently. Their quote was very competitive and we felt we had received both quality and value. A job well done! In view of this initial experience, we engaged CP&H to come back and replace our ageing hot water cylinder. Once again, from the initial survey through to the completion of the work, the entire team were extremely professional and friendly and provided great advice in terms of the replacement specification which will mean we now have a more efficient system which will save us money in the future. Our experience of CP&H over 2 jobs has been excellent. We are now discussing the replacement of our bathroom with them as we have every confidence they will once again provide an excellent service. We look forward to welcoming their back into our home for a third visit :)

Boiler failed on the Sunday. Phoned first thing Monday.Plumber attended in the morning and fixed the problem in 40 minutes.Have used CPH before and have always found them reliable.

Had 2 radiators that refused to get hot and were getting worse. We needed a full system powerflush, a time consuming and costly task. At the end of it, the heating was better, but the two radiators were still struggling although a bit improved. We, and Sam the plumber, were a bit disappointed, but we knew it was a risk. At their own expense the company sent Sam back a week later where he spent several hours focusing on these two radiators and very fine balancing of the system - result is 2 very hot radiators! great commitment to service a from CHP.
