I found CHS Glasgow on a local social media group when I needed a gas safe engineer at very short notice - same day short notice! - to help me disconnect a gas appliance to allow other work we had going on in the house to take place. Darren was extremely helpful, managed to fit us in to his day and said he would come back to reinstall the appliance whenever we were ready. Friendly and polite service throughout, and really prompt to respond and arrived when expected. Can’t recommend Darren and CHS highly enough.

I was worried about getting my central heating boiler replaced. However, everything went so smoothly. Darren and his employee Robert arrived on time. They respected my property by providing protective coverings for my Amtico floors and work surfaces. They worked away for the full day. They completed all that they were contracted to do. They tidied up after the job was done. Darren explained the working of the boiler and left me the manual. He sent off my details for my guarantee and Worcester Bosch have confirmed the registration. I couldn’t have asked for a better service. I’ll use them again for my annual service. A good job well done!

We have recently had a new boiler installed Darren and his colleague. From the outset Darren was professional and amiable and I felt I was able to trust him to do the job right and install the right boiler for us. We didn’t have to wait, they came when they agreed and were tidy and respectful of our home. The boiler is working really well and we feel reassured that if we happen to have any issues, we can call him at any point. I whole heartedly recommend this company.

Can’t recommend CHS Glasgow and Darren highly enough. We needed a boiler replacement, and from initial discussion and quote Darren explained everything well and made recommendations, tweaking to meet our requirements. The job itself was completed to a high standard - professional and friendly service - and we couldn’t be happier with the new system. We contacted CHS Glasgow who provided a very competitive quote for a new boiler. The old system was over 20yrs old with a badly fitted flu and all needed replaced and moved. Darren recommended a Valiant boiler that ticked all our boxes. On the day of install Darren laid sheets to protect carpets and went about the job with minimal fuss. The old boiler was removed and discarded with the new boiler fitted in quick time. The flu needed to be moved for an upcoming loft conversion and Darren took time to explain the options and the relative pros and cons of where it should go. After discussion this was completed and we could not have been happier with the result. After the boiler was installed Darren recommended a power flush as the radiators were very dirty. Again this was carried out professionally and he showed us the system draining and the accompanying residue. It was obvious that this was required. Finally, Darren showed us the new Wi-Fi controls and how to get the best from the boiler. All in all we were highly delighted with Darren’s work and would most certainly recommend CHS Glasgow.

I phoned him just before 12 noon to say I had a plumbing problem. He was on a job but said he would call at my house when he finished, probably after 5. He sent a text to me when he finished the job and was on his way. When he arrived he went under the floor and checked out the pipe work I was concerned about. He confirmed that everything was OK and charged me only his basic call out which I considered very reasonable. He was excellent at communicating with me initially, taking the initial call and explaining when he expected to be able to see me, then updating me. When he did arrive he was very polite. After he had been under the floor and checked out the pipework he explained in detail how the pipework was arranged and though the original installation was not as he would have done it would work ok and did not need further work. I thought that his call out charge was very reasonable.

This was the first time we have used CHS Glasgow. Our gas boiler was installed only a year ago during extension work to our house so it required its first service. We were very impressed with the way Darren explained everything he was doing and indeed I think we learned more than my husband and I knew about the workings of the boiler. We were concerned that our existing 5 year old boiler was underperforming and possibly too small to cope. Darren responded very quickly to the initial query and came out to visit the same day. Having assessed the situation, (the heating system, how we used it and our house) his conclusion was that rather than a new boiler, we would be better served through trial and error adjusting the thermostat and heating settings. Although it was the end of the day and later than he had appreciated, he took his time to provide honest and helpful advice. He could so easily have simply sold us a new boiler installation. Darren’s pre-visit communication was first-rate, he was very respectful of our home whilst he was in it and he is clearly very passionate and knowledgeable about heating. Although we haven’t bought any services from him yet, he’s left us feeling like valued customers who will return to him. Thank you Darren.

My husband came home from hospital after major surgery and despite our boiler going full blast, our house was cold. Darren had done work for my brother and I'd been very impressed with his professionalism. I left a message with his wife and he phoned me back just after 7pm. He heard how worried I was and came out to see what he could do. He advised us that we needed to renew our boiler (it was nearly 20 years old) and have our system flushed out but to still keep our present radiators and thermostats as they were ok. He re-jigged his schedule so he managed to fit us in before Christmas. The weather turned bitterly cold and his wife phoned to ask if we'd like some extra heaters which we gratefully accepted. Darren came when he said he would and we found him to be knowledgeable, conscientious and extremely hard working and our house has never been as warm. He explained what he was doing and why, and kept us in the picture all along the way. He tided up after himself and left our house the way he had found it. Our son and daughter were both here on Christmas Day and have both taken his phone number to have work done in their homes. Couldn't rate him highly enough!

I'd used Darren to service my boiler two years earlier as a Which? Trusted Trader and had been impressed. I attempted to get him back a year later but it was in the middle of COVID and I was unable to reach him, so I went with someone else who came and did a cursory job. So, when it was time for another servicing, I tried CHS again and was pleased when Darren responded. The engineer that Darren sent was meticulous. He informed me, at the end of an hour of poking about, that the boiler (15 years old) was unsafe. He called Darren and informed him of the same. I was very keen to get the boiler replaced, especially as we had guests scheduled to come stay the following week. Darren was able to prove two quotes for two possible replacements in a very short timeframe and able to rejig his schedule to fit us in the very next week. Fitting the new boiler involved some unexpected challenges but Darren was able to overcome most of them until it came to commissioning the boiler late that afternoon when it turned out Vaillant had not included a key part. Darren was able to contact the Vaillant rep that evening, who appeared at my address the very next morning with the necessary part, and the installation was complete. When there was a potential problem six months later, Darren came out at 9am on a bank holiday to check the boiler out. I remain very impressed with Darren and would strongly recommend CHS Glasgow to anyone looking for a true professional.

Our heating system was 24 years old and we decided to replace before the winter. Looked up heating companies on Which for reliability and good reviews. We got a few quotes but CHS Glasgow stood out. Phoned the company number and spoke to Pamela, Darren's wife who was very helpful and said she would get him to contact us. Darren contacted us within the hour and came out later the same day. Was very thorough in assessing what we needed and listened to our preference to go with a Vaillant boiler as we had got a good run out of this make. The work was carried out by both Willie and Darren. They were very prompt and professional. We were informed the whole way the process of supplying and fitting. Efficient and tidy workers. Took away all the old radiators, boiler and rubbish. They even fitted a new kitchen sink tap that was leaking while they were doing the heating system. Darren then came back later on in the evening following completion of the job to ensure we understood how to use the thermostat. Extremely happy with the work carried out and have no complaints following a few cold snaps and high winds. System running like a dream. Would definitely use this company again.

The team are so friendly and helpful. Our boiler broke down and from the initial phone call right through to the work being finished, we couldn’t have had better service. The team helped us as much as they could over the phone, arranged an appointment for a home visit promptly, and communicated clearly and openly with us through the rest of the work. He went out of his way to schedule our boiler replacement as soon as possible so we wouldn’t be stuck without heating or hot water. We are more than happy with the work done and to continue using this company for aftercare and future boiler services. Would definitely recommend CHS Glasgow to anybody and will use them again in future.

Our 8-month old boiler had broken down overnight leaving us with no heating or hot water. It was a Sunday during the very cold spell in February this year many people in the UK were experiencing the same problem. As our gas engineer who installed the boiler could not attend because he was self-isolating, I tried contacting the supplier's customer service emergency line, but after hours of being put "on hold" without success, our gas engineer recommended Darren. Darren answered the phone promptly, posed various questions, gave possible scenarios for the problem and advised he could be there in a few hours, giving us a price for the callout and any work. He showed up as promised and managed to get the boiler up and running but said it would need to be checked over by the supplier. Through his network, he managed to arrange for Vaillant to attend in the next day-or-two for a full service under guarantee. He also called me the following day to make sure that Vaillant had indeed contacted me to fix a time for this service. They had not, so he contacted them again and ensured I got confirmation. He followed up with me to ensure I was happy with the result. We shared findings with the gas engineer who installed the boiler, who returned to make minor adjustments. Darren is clearly knowledgeable in his field of work, passionate about it and strives to ensure top quality customer service by liaising with other professionals to get a job well done.

Darren installed a new boiler in our son's flat (which I organised on his behalf) after identifying problems with the old boiler. The work was done professionally and competently, but most importantly for me, he is obviously someone who prides himself on providing good customer service in terms of trust and reliability and follow up. After a lifetime's experience of tradesmen who have been too often unreliable and unprofessional in approach, it is a relief to find someone who genuinely cares about what he is doing, and is conscientious in wanting to provide satisfaction. He is also a very pleasant guy to deal with.

The job was for a boiler replacement and a radiator being fitted. Darren was prompt to quote and respond to additional questions, clearly explained the job details to me and offered very useful general advice. I was able to book him without a long wait. I cannot fault his work- there was excellent communication, he worked to the agreed schedule and budget, was extremely careful and tidy, and went over and above also setting up the hive for me too. There was a small leak from a flawed pipe and although I messaged (not expecting an instant reply) he responded immediately and found the problem and fixed it. Extremely helpful, thorough and professional. Will be using CHS again for any future work.

Most impressed with standard of work carried out by Darren. He is a neat and tidy worker who carefully explains what needs to be done in layman terms. Fitting the new radiators required no extra decorating with the line up of the radiator tails to the floor to the millimetre. He has a very good eye for detail, and picked up that my Worcester boiler did not have the recommended auto bypass fitted, that the auto bypass in my boiler was weeping, that one of my zone valves had been installed the wrong way round even though it still worked, albeit with low flow and that a waste pipe in the loft had a tiny leak . He required access to all areas of the house as he had to drain down the system and fit the new radiators and w/c - all were left clean and tidy after his work. His helpfulness in organising his work around family life was much appreciated. When one of the new radiators developed a fault, he quickly sourced a replacement and had it fitted, coming out in the evening so that we would not be inconvenienced. All my various works were carried out to the agreed timescale and estimate, and to a high standard. I was particularly impressed with his overall general knowledge of plumbing as it relates to a 100 year old house.

Darren has been out to help us a few times over the past year. He fitted our new boiler and thermostat system, fixed plumbing issues for both our toilets, and fitted our new dishwasher on short notice when AO.com let us down. We are so glad we found Darren. He is so friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what he does. We have often needed his services on short notice and he's always been out to the house promptly. We've never had a tradesperson we feel so at ease around and trust so much. His work means a lot to him and it really shows. I would recommend Darren without hesitation and I have done so already to family and friends. It's been such a relief over lockdown knowing we're able to get in touch with him easily for all the things that have gone wrong in the house. Following a major leak in our boiler, we contacted CHS Glasgow on the recommendation of a neighbour. Darren came out the same day and diagnosed the issue. He gave us various options, and did not pressure us at all, but we decided to have a new boiler installed. This was completed a week later following a power flush of our existing system. During such a precarious time due to COVID, Darren and his colleague took every precaution to protect themselves and us. They worked in a professional, tidy, courteous way, and completed the works on schedule. We’re delighted with our new boiler, which has now been working nearly 24hrs. I would not hesitate to use this company again, and would and will recommend them. Thanks Darren for a first class service.

We needed a complete new CH system. We looked at several potential suppliers but actually trying to get a proper quote out of them seemed to be impossible. We looked at CHS Glasgow 'reviews' on here and on local FB. Darren Farr visited and was insistent on 'consulting with us' and seeking to understand what we were trying to do. He was very happy to speak with us on several occasions, at no cost, to ensure that the system,- boilers, piping and radiators - were both what we wanted and would meet the needs for heating the house. All before we accepted the quote. We agreed on the system and the cost, then a date. The quote was what we paid, there was no 'sudden extra', even although the job proved to have one or two unforeseen complications. The job was completed in 3 days. This involved stripping out the old system, boiler, water tanks, piping and radiators. This over three floors. Then bringing in the new components, fitting them and running the system. The team from CH Glasgow worked assiduously throughout the three days they were here. They were very tidy, they were very considerate both to ourselves and to our neighbours. All the old components were removed while the guys were here. We now have a very warm and toasty house. The team were friendly and professional. They did a great job and finished it within the allotted time. Very very happy to recommend CHS Glasgow and happy to talk to any potential customers on their behalf.
