Internal Affairs

I had some ideas about what I wanted for the kitchen and bathroom, but Cliff could see what I wanted and put together a plan that incorporated everything I wanted. The kitchen is quite small, as I didn’t want to knock through, but Cliff has managed to not only fit in the large range and the Belfast sink I wanted, but magically made enough cupboard space for all my kitchen items, despite having fewer cupboards than before! Cliff and Kenny tiled the floor from the front door right through to the kitchen, and I finally have my black and white tiled floor that I always wanted. Cliff also suggested putting a window in the roof in the kitchen extension (the old coal shed!) which we hadn’t thought of, and this has brought lots more light into the kitchen and has made such a difference. The house is 100 years old, and none of the walls or floors are straight which made everything a challenge, but Cliff has managed to make everything square. The quality of the cupboards is amazing; they are solid wood and look wonderful. We had a potential issue with a gap behind the range, but Cliff came up with a solution to fit a shelf behind the cooker, which looks great. The bathroom is a small room, but Cliff has managed to fit in a claw-foot bath, a large sink and a toilet with a high-level cistern while leaving the room looking more spacious than before. I love my two new rooms and would recommend Cliff; he manages all the trades, so you don’t have to worry

I use "Which? Trusted Traders" whenever I need to undertake work on my house, due to the exceptional quality of the workmanship. In seeking to find someone to refurb my bathroom I went straight to Trusted Traders. "Internal Affairs" have a listing on Trusted Traders, and the feedback from previous customers was very positive. Thus, I contacted Internal Affairs. Cliff visited the house to hear what we wanted in terms of the refurb, and made many suggestions to us in terms of design. We agreed a layout, and he sourced all the furniture required, including flooring, for us to agree. The bathroom had not been modernised for some time, so there was a considerable amount of enabling work required. Additionally, the property is relatively old (1843), and this came with its own issues, such as plumbing and electrics, and the condition of the walls and ceiling (e.g. plaster). Cliff organised all the additional trades that were required. The refurb project took about 3 weeks from start to finish, and for us was stress free. Cliff and his team arrived according to the agreed schedule and set to work. They were careful and considerate in terms of their work and our property, friendly, and accommodating. At the end of each day they cleaned up their work areas. We are exceptionally happy with the final outcome, and would recommend without hesitation Internal Affairs to others.

Cliff is a professional, respectable and reliable man. His work on our new kitchen was second to none. Cliff went out of his way to help us in anyway he could and made sure he made us feel comfortable as it can be very daunting to have a full kitchen done. I contracted Cliff to replace flooring in my apartment in Liverpool. I live in Ireland and needed someone I could trust. His work is exceptional. There was much more refurbishment needed in the apartment. The kitchen was beyond repair and had to be replaced. Cliff designed and installed the kitchen replaced the bathroom counter, repaired the flush and blinds. He kept in good contact with me throughout and sent plans and quotes as needed. He recommended an electrician. Support small business-the back bone of our economy

From the first conversation Cliff at Internal Affairs was helpful and accommodating, I have a lot of ideas and opinions and Cliff was able to sift through them using his experience to help us make the right decisions in the design and look of our kitchen. He took complete control of the job, project managing the various trades. The work encompassed removing two structural walls , installing supports and new partitioning. The entire area was re wired and plastered before the new kitchen and flooring was installed. We are very pleased with the result and know that Cliff's high personnel standards and experience are the main reason for that.

Very pleased with our new kitchen. Cliff was able to remove our old kitchen quickly before installing the new one. His excellent joinery skills were needed to overcome the imperfections of our walls, and he made several useful modifications to our original plans. He cleared up well after each day’s work. He also helped us choose the best appliances. Cliff is something of a perfectionist, but he still managed to complete the job in good time. I would not hesitate to recommend Cliff and Internal Affairs to any prospective customer.

We had a new kitchen put in by Cliff in November/December 2022 and we’re really pleased with the result. The discussions started much earlier and Cliff was patient in explaining the options to us. Once we had chosen what we wanted, with some useful advice on maximising space, the installation went relatively smoothly. There were some Brexit-related import delays but nothing that was Cliff’s fault. The big benefit of working with Cliff as a single point of contact is that all the other work – plastering, electrics – is organised by him: there is no need for the client to become a project manager. Cliff has excellent contacts and the other tradesmen he sub-contracted were equally easy to deal with and produced high-quality work. In the end, we asked Cliff to replace a bathroom too, as well as to convert part of the garage into a utility room. Again, we’re very pleased with the result. We feel very happy to have escaped some of the nightmares our friends have had with big companies and strongly recommend Cliff.

Cliff came and fitted an integrated fridge at short notice for me. Quick and efficient, and also took care of disposal of my old fridge. Would recommend.
