I first used Darren's services way back in 2011 and again a couple of times after that. His work ethic and service have always been exceptional... often working longer than the quoted time at no extra charge to deal with stubborn problems in a long shared kitchen drain run. He also advised me about householder vs Thames water responsibilities to avoid me shelling out unnecessarily in future for drainage issues that might actually be Thames waters responsibilities. Thankfully not needed his services for quite a few years now. But if you have any issues with your drains I would recommend him above anyone else.

Darren replied quickly, when I contacted him regarding drainage issues with the bath/sink and gutter drainpipe. He arrived on time and was able to quickly assess and explain the causes of the issues, then recommend the actions to resolve the problems. He was able to resolve the bath/sink. The work was very clean and tidy. For the outside drain Darren asked us to first get the the gutters cleaned and a minor repair done. He kindly provided a contact for this work (who was also good and cam a few days later. Then Darren checked up the situation and returned promptly. Clearing the drain very effectively. Also he provided advice on how to avoid the issues in the future. Overall a very helpful and considerate, also at a very reasonable price.

Great service. Prompt visit, thorough inspection and investigation of drain blockage identified by surveyor. Darren not only sorted out the problem but also gave me a clear explanation of how the drainage system for this particular house linked to the main drains and what had happened to cause the problem. Very knowledgeable, and explained exactly who was responsible for different parts of the drainage system linked to the house so we now know which parts of the system are the responsibility of Thames Water and which parts are our responsibility. Blockage successfully cleared during the visit, to agreed budget. Would highly recommend Darren.

We were having problems with two communal drains, one of which was completely blocked and had been for some years. Darren arrived on time and immediately started work, he explained the issue and exactly what he was going to do to resolve it, he then painstakingly cleared the drains and ensured that they were once more fully operational. Darren's approach is friendly, open and efficient. I can highly recommend him.

Had an issue with drainage and tried to unblock myself using rods. Managed to get a tool stuck in the pipe. The insurance company wouldn’t attend so checked with Which? Trusted Traders to see who I could get to attend. This local company made a booking the same day and came out the next day. Retrieved my rod tool. Cleared the blockage all to my satisfaction. Knowledgeable and tidy. Very professional. I would recommend this company. Reasonable pricing.

The gully outside our kitchen became blocked. It took the waste water from the sinks, washing machine and dish washer to the main drain. We called a company advertised in the Yellow Page telephone directory. They came and tried to unblock the gully but failed then proposed replacing the gully and pipe to the main drain. I was not happy with this and turned to the Trusted Traders section of Which (I had not been aware of its existence before this) where we found Darren of D L Wood. He came and very quickly back flushed the gully and removed the blockage. He was efficient and polite and didn't give us any of the exaggerated chat which one sometimes receives from service men. We were very happy with his service which saved us the cost and upheaval of extensive drain work.

I called Darren to help clear a slowly-draining external drain. He came within an hour as promised, and jetted the outside drain - this revealed that the problem lay further down the system. It turned out that the main drain was blocked. After removing the drain cover, this was confirmed - it was *full* of crap. Darren cleared the whole thing and left it sparkling clean and even checked out a soakaway at my request, all for the original amount quoted for the initial drain clearance, which was good value to start with. Really impressed with Darren's work, highly recommended.

Darren came to clear an outside drain of ours that had overflowed. He was polite and friendly, on time and the van and equipment he used looked well maintained. He worked hard, efficiently and was creative with achieving a resolution to our drain issue. He gave good advice. I will definitely been using him again if we have drain issues and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

Darren was fantastic. Prompt, polite and knowledgeable. Identified the problem and a gave me the number for Thames Water and advice on calling them. He charges £70 for a call out but refused payment even though he was here for nearly 30 minutes identifying the problem. I will be holding on to his information and would have no hesitation calling him again or recommending him to all my friends.

Darren arrived promptly at the agreed time and set to work to clear a blocked drain without delay. There was a difficulty because of a right angle bend along the drain length but he worked quickly and efficiently, and made very sure that all was clear before being satisfied with his efforts. The job was finishing at just under an hour and I was very pleased to hand over £70, the sum he had quoted over the phone when first I had made contact. I should add that his rig was clean and tidy and I found him pleasant and courteous - I can't recommend him too highly.

Very thorough. Fixed the problem, checked and cleared another blockage (caused by leaves) and asked about possible causes as this had happened before. If I hadn't known why this has happened before, I think he would have investigated further. As it is, he has advised that part of our problem is an unusually long run between drain covers.

Thankfully for me, Darren was able to get to me within an hour of my making initial contact. He very quickly resolved the problem (a blocked drain), checked the incoming pipes thoroughly, and cleaned up after himself. He was prompt and friendly and courteous throughout, and I believe his stated prices (as given on his website) are very reasonable. I have no hesitation in recommending him.
