I had a new consumer unit installed in September 2025 by DSES. As a former electrical engineer myself (many years ago), I have been following David for many years on YouTube and I have been very impressed with his skills and knowledge, his pinpoint focus on electrical regulations and health and safety, and the quality of work he exhibited in his videos (as well as his humour). As I expected, David was busy and in high demand when I first contacted him, but I was prepared to wait for him to become available. Eventually David visited to perform thorough testing of my existing installation and circuits and to produce an EICR report. Then at my request he returned to install a modern 18th Edition-compliant, 14 way consumer unit with RCBO protection on all circuits and a Surge Protection Device (SPD) for added safety. The Consumer Unit was installed, wiring was neatly organized, circuits fully labelled and finally thoroughly tested to ensure everything was up to current regulations (BS 7671). David also took the time to explain the setup and provide all the necessary certification and reports. I highly recommend DSES for any electrical work—top-tier service for peace of mind!

David is one of those rare people you meet who is not only exceptionally good at what he does, but also a really nice person. Honest, reliable, punctual, professional, tidy, very reasonably priced, intelligent and talented, he’s also friendly, funny, understanding and kind. I wouldn’t have anyone else touch anything electrical in my house.

I was lucky enough to have David come and assess my electrics following a drugs grow in my rental. I’d been told by another contractor that I had to have a costly rewire. David found this not to be the case. He assessed my electrics, did the necessary remedials, charged me a more than fair price and left me with an option to do a non-urgent remedial at a later date (and again, at a fair price) should I decide to. David is honest, professional and as I suspected when I researched him, he really knows his stuff. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

We have used DSES a couple of times and have found them to be completely reliable and trustworthy. David really knows his electrical onions and will not try to make you have more work done than you need. The work he does will be professionally completed and - most importantly - properly tested and certified. Many electricians seem to carry out minimal testing, but on older properties especially it is extremely important for your safety and security. We would recommend DSES without hesitation - although we don't want them getting so much work that they can't fit us in!

David was very helpful over the phone giving advice on how to find what was making a circuit breaker constantly trip. When I admitted I was beaten and needed a bit of assistance, he came round, found the cause & rectified the problem. I would not have a 2nd thought about recommending David to friends and family, in fact, I've already emailed his details round to our neighbours.

Having recently moved into a new house there is a fair amount of electrical work needed, and despite being extremely busy, David especially made time to carry out the urgent essential work - which he (and Dan) completed to a very high standard. Rather than dispose of a redundant yet serviceable garage light fitting, David re-purposed it for use as loft lighting - a perfect example of recycling, and something I doubt a lot of electricians would have bothered considering. The installation work, which was completed surprisingly quickly, was impressively neat and with obvious attention to detail using quality materials. Equally impressive is David's thorough knowledge of all things electrical. I'd have absolutely no hesitation in recommending David Savery Electrical Services.

David carried out a full house electrical inspection on a property we were selling. We were a few days from exchange when the buyer announced that they wanted the inspection to be carried out. He was recommended by another electrician that couldn't help us. Fortunately David was able to squeeze us in later the same week. There were a few minor issues flagged but David worked with us to find a swift economic solution. All the while he was aware of our desperate situation, not wanting the sale to fall through. There was every opportunity for David to exploit this situation but he did quite the opposite. The service provided was excellent, helping us out of a difficult situation and when the invoice arrived we were delighted. I'm really not sure that every trader would have acted the same way, in fact I have some previous experience of prices being inflated when the trader realises that you're in a bind. I cannot recommend DSES.UK enough. I am very confident that David would deliver the same great service and competitive pricing for anyone choosing his services. David was able to fit me in at relatively short notice. He messaged to let me know they were on their way. They wore protective overshoes to keep the carpets clean. They identified all the issues and kept me informed and involved throughout the process. They were swift but thorough and gave helpful advice on terms of good usage. They tidied up well. David sent a very comprehensive bill and the fee was perfectly acceptable. I will recommend you without hesitation! Thank you very much. 5 stars all round.

Dave and Nigel have just carried out an electrical installation condition report at my house. I used to work as an electrician so it was clear to me that they really know their stuff. They were polite and easy to have around the house, punctual and hard working. They uncovered a few faults during the inspection and spent the time to find, fix or agree a solution with me along the way rather that just present me with a list of extra work needed at the end. If you are going to get an EICR done then get it done properly by these two.

My elderly mother needed an electrician to fix her electric hot water tank and I needed someone patient and trustworthy. I would totally recommend David. He was very polite, reliable and took care not to cause any damage to the existing fittings, which are rather fragile due to their age. He ensured the tank was working safely and went out of his way to be helpful and fit the job in.

David has worked at my home several times now, including a complete re-wire of our kitchen, and I can say without hesitation that it has been a pleasure each time. I’ve used David Savery Electrical a few times in the past and I was prepared to wait for him which wasn’t very long. He gives good advice when wanted and is not pushy or intrusive. On this occasion he fitted uplighting in my garden and went to great lengths to reduce it to 12volt for extra safely. I was very impressed with his work ethic as his final invoice was lower than the quote. This was due to the better quality lights that I bought thereby avoided more technical work when fitting.

David fitted us into his busy schedule to replace a malfunctioning heater and room thermostat. He was thorough and persistent when checking the function and safety of the installation. He was mindful of our home environment, wearing shoe covers to protect floors and carpets. He was quietly professional; obviously a good problem solver; and a very good communicator, explaining clearly what he was doing and why. He instills trust and confidence. I have no hesitation recommending him.

we have recently moved into a new property and needed the electrics checking out. We found Dave by word of mouth, he came highly recommended. Dave responded promptly to my text and made an appointment at my convenience to come and check out the work. He was prompt and arrived exactly when he said on all occasions He spent over an hour checking out the place then came back to do a full survey on the main house and the outbuildings. He pointed out all the problems and explained them fully and went through all the options to rectify the problems . He then wrote everything up in a full report in layman's English so that I could understand as well as sending the official report. His charges are very reasonable and we are going to proceed with further works with him . He is also very clean and tidy. He and his team wore foot protectors whilst in the house and cleaned up after themselves

I have used DSES on many occasions over the last few years, on this occasion to conduct an EICR on a rental flat following a suspicious test commissioned by letting agents. David performed his usual excellent service in conducting the test. Communication, arriving when expected etc and all round professionalism were as exemplary as ever - I highly recommend! On this occasion David went above and beyond with detailed, lengthy email communication and genuinely helpful advice that has potentially saved me £thousands. David completed all electrical works for a new kitchen installation, including wiring for new appliances, moving and adding plug sockets and a new LED kitchen light unit. From first advice on requirements to completion of the work, David's customer service and professionalism was superb and quality of work outstanding. Definitely recommended.

This was the first time we've used this supplier, found by word of mouth recommendation. Scope of work involved fixing 2 non-functioning sockets, installing new roof downlights to replace old system, fixing under-cupboard lighting, fixing wall lights and installing remote control of block of downlights. All done in an afternoon quickly and professionally. Work was carried out to quotation and area was hoovered afterwards. Not only were all the requested concerns addressed but advice and an ideal solution for the remote access were provided. We are very pleased with the supplied items, the quality of workmanship and the total service provided, including value for money. We are happy to recommend this supplier.
