Derwent Sash Windows Ltd t/a Derwent Windows and Doors

We badly needed a new wooden front door for our old Victorian house but wanted it doing without the need to replace the original door frame. Another of our requirements was that the door was to have different internal and external colours and a different finish to the door fittings. Several firms had told us that this couldn't be done. We paid a visit to the Derwent showroom at Trent Bridge Nottingham who arranged for one of their staff to visit us to do an assessment. They said it was not a problem. From the first discussion through to the door being completed and fitted all the staff at Derwent were knowledgeable, punctual, professional, efficient and friendly. A special mention must go to Kim at the Nottingham showroom and Mark the fitter. We are extremely pleased with the result, the new door looks great. A big thank-you to all at Derwent.

The workmen arrived when expected and were polite and friendly. They got on with replacing our front door efficiently and asked us to check where door furnishing were required. We are happy with the look and the quality. It feels very solid and secure. And looks really good. The only surprise was that there was no re-confirmation of the due date for fitting by email or phone. I had to make the call as it had been booked quite a way ahead. But was only a little concern.

Very helpful in selecting our door, fitting was done with care and in the timescale indicated. We had a minor issue that was quickly resolved.

Ordered replacement Upvc sash window, wooden back door & internal wooden french doors. Very happy with the overall process and end result. Full spec and quote given for all works,and price held despite some delays at our end. Survey, back office and installation teams were all very professional, and our timetables met. We are particularly happy with the wooden architrave finishes especially on the Upvc sash window, which makes it really hard to tell that its "not wood". Wooden doors were a little more expensive vs composite doors of others, but not excessively so, and well worth it. Upvc sash was the best "wood-effect" window we found in the area. Already recommended to friends.

Derwent Windows have done extensive work on my home, fitting both external and internal windows and glazed doors. From start to finish my experience has been extremely positive. Following my initial inquiry there was a system in place that began with a visit to assess my needs, followed by a surveyor, who came to assess the work and make templates for an unusually sized door, and then the team who came to the fit the products. Each was efficient and time effective. Each person I came into contact with, including those at the office, were very polite, speedy to respond and I was extremely reassured that I was dealing with a business who cared, is professional and has high standards. I've already frequently recommended Derwent as I've had so many compliments on my doors and Windows and will continue to do so.

After experiencing a poorly fitting upvc front door for a number of years we decided to bite the bullet and do the job properly. From visiting the showroom at Trent Bridge and meeting the lovely staff there, through the assessment visit, then fitting, then final tidying, and including communications with the main office staff, the process has been a revelation. We are so used to being slightly disappointed with things to do with houses and building, that the experience we have had has surprised us. First of all, the quality of the door, first rate, and so it should be for the price, but the skill of the fitting of the curved frame in a 250 year old house that has been bashed about over the years was remarkable. Secondly, they really knew what they were doing, both at design stage, manufacture and fitting, as we were worried that the delicate external render was not damaged. This was achieved effortlessly. The final fitting to make good skirting was also excellent and had to include them ordering a unique profile. To sum up, if you appreciate the best, both in product and service, and realise that these values need to be properly paid for, then contact Derwent.

Derwent Sash have replaced every window in our Edwardian house and the original conservatory. This is not a regular window installation company, these guys are craftsmen. We took 3 quotes, all fairly similar...it is only when you get into the weeds on the detail of the window and the subsequent fit and finish internally and externally that you realise you have found the only company to trust your home with. The other 2 companies eventually withdrew their offers as the job was too difficult. A guy down the road used a regular window installer, same windows, crappy fit and finish, especially externally. Ours was a big job, huge original casements and sash windows were removed and replaced with Bygone Collection Sash and Evolution Casements. That was the bit anyone could do. The level of carpentry detailing to replicate window sills, architraves and plenty of other bits was astonishing. The conservatory was a rotten, leaky and cold a lean to, now it is the pride of the house, lovely and warm. We had a special extra wide Accoya door made to replicate the original. The whole things looks identical, but much better than the one next door. So we have a period house, now with the latest technology windows, installed stunningly. Noise reduction glass in the bedrooms kills all outside noise and the house is finally warm. And it looks just like it did before, Use them, trust them, they are worth it.

We had our upstairs windows replaced by Derwent last year and everything about the process has been first class. The products are excellent, the workmanship of a very high standard and we absolutely delighted with the results. People have been stopping us in the street as we leave the house to ask us about our lovely new windows. From our initial enquiry through to the end of the installation we couldn't fault anything and look forward to returning for the rest of the windows as soon as possible.

We are very pleased with the installation of Evolution Storm windows. We followed Jan and Rob's advice on some of the detailing and the windows look great inside and out. The finish is spot on and the fitting team were tidy, efficient and cheerful. Thank you!
