Derwent Sash Windows Ltd t/a Derwent Windows and Doors

We have had new windows and a new rear door from Derwent. We've been very pleased with the service from start to finish. The staff have been highly professional and easy to work with. Would highly recommend and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Changed all of the windows in our house and have to say this was the one of the best customer experiences I've ever had. The owners and workers are courteous and considerate and completely customer focussed. They bend over backwards to make sure you are happy. They made no mess and finished very quickly. I have full confidence any aftercare we would need if any problems should arise. This is how every company should operate. So glad I went with these guys. I wholeheartedly recommend them.

We had our old UPVC windows replaced with timber casement windows from Derwent. Their customer service from visiting the showroom to the finished windows is first class, everything from a deposit protection policy to polite, skilful & tidy fitters. The timber windows look great and make such a difference. We would highly recommend Derwent to anybody looking for new windows, it's exactly how a company should be run but so few are.

We have used this company before so we know how reliable and helpful they are. Obviously the schedule was interrupted because of the lockdown situation but we were kept informed about when the business could resume and we were given a new date as soon as possible. We were not disappointed, the work was done to a very high standard. Timekeeping was excellent and not a moment of the day was wasted. The room and outside area were left tidy and clean. I would have no hesitation using the company again.

We have had all of our external windows and doors replaced by Derwent in 2 phases over the last couple of years and honestly couldn't recommend them highly enough. Great people to deal with, attention to detail and quality of materials is excellent, no sense that the job needs to be rushed so the fitters aren't unduly stressed so they can do their job properly and to a standard that they are content with. No hidden extras; in our experience the price given is honoured even if unforeseen difficulties are encountered during the work, and if it takes a little longer than anticipated to get the job right then that is what happens. We spoke to several mainstream companies and also local suppliers before settling on Derwent - the level of info they provide in their quotation is above and beyond that provided by anyone else. Others varied from 'the back of a fag packet' to tons of paperwork which actually gave very little detail of what was actually being provided, and of course followed by the 'hard sell'. We got none of that from Derwent. By the time the work was finished saying thanks and goodbye to Ian, our prime fitter throughout, was like bidding farewell to a good friend! The problem we have now is that our soffits, fascias & gutters need to be replaced to match but they have set the bar so high its going to be difficult to find a company with equivalent standards. Of course they are not the cheapest but that really depends on where your priorities lie - price or quality?

From measuring to fitting, nothing was left to chance. Windows arrived on time and were speedily and professionally fitted. Everything was “made good” afterwards with no fuss. In fact, I was so impressed both with the quality of product and fitting, I ordered another set to match. As I say, a first class company with first class staff.

Thanks for all your help and advice over the past months, the whole service Derwent provided from the day we came over to the showroom to view in April, Andrew expertly surveying the work, to admin answering our many questions, until the fitters completed the work has been absolutely first class. It has been great to work with a company that take so much effort and pride in delivering such good customer service not only in ensuring the quality of the finished product, but also in the care, detail, politeness, personal service and interest shown by all the staff involved throughout the project. A particular thanks to Dan, Mark, Ben and Calum who worked tirelessly in difficult conditions to fit the windows. The detail, care and effort they put in to ensure the finished article was perfect, was superb. They really were all excellent throughout and nothing was too much trouble. Our old windows had been in for probably 150 years, so you can imagine the amount old dust and dirt created from behind the frames once they were removed. The fitters worked diligently to clean up after themselves and return the rooms to pristine condition each night, leaving us with very little work to do, for which we were understandably very grateful. The windows both upstairs and downstairs look great, many thanks. We will definitely be telling all our friends about Derwent Windows and look forward to working with you again in the near future

All went exactly as Derwent said it would. A large team took 3 days from start to finish (supported by copious quantities of tea and biscuits from the customer). The workmanship of both the windows and fitting has been excellent. Particular mention must be made of the young joiner who did some great work rebuilding sills and internal surroundings. The team left the house totally clear of all dust, rubble and other mess the re-fitting process creates. They were friendly, organised and professional and left very little retouching of the paintwork to be done both inside and out. We now have windows that are secure, easy to open and keep clean and look very much in keeping with the architecture of a house now over 100 years old. We still have a few more windows to replace and will certainly be going back to Derwent to get them done.

Derwent Windows were able to provide arched timber windows entirely in keeping with our early 19th Century Old Toll House. The transformation to our house has been amazing. So many neighbours have commented positively on the appearance of these windows including some older people who remember what this house used to look like. Comments like ' your new windows look stunning' have frequently been made. We are delighted with the difference these windows have made to our home - not only in appearance but also in better heat and sound insulation. The team did an excellent job and were a pleasure to work with. Follow-up after sales was also very good. There is no doubt that this project was expensive but we were prepared to pay for quality and see it as an investment in our property. But mainly we see it as a great improvement to our home on the edge of the beautiful Peak District.

Derwent Windows gave an excellent service from the quotation assessment to the detailed site survey and then to the installation. I thought the nature of the site survey was particularly useful; we discussed the nuances of the installation and they were able to answer all of my queries in a detailed yet easy-to-understand manner. Therefore, I was very confident in the installation ahead, which mostly, I would not be at home to witness. The quality of the work carried out was very good. The sash windows provided are of excellent quality and the wooden architrave and facias (made on-site, at my home) that surround the internal of each window fit perfectly between the window and the wall. The slightly high price of the installation was largely driven by the need for quality sash windows that are in keeping with the age of my house and the conservation area in which I live. Informal quotes from other companies using the same type of manufactured sash windows gave a similar ball-park price. I was very pleased with the service provided by Derwent Windows and would recommend them to future potential customers.
