Doug Farleigh Kitchens

I contacted Doug on the 22nd of May 2020 to ask if he could help source a kitchen cupboard door for an existing kitchen in the house I purchased. Doug responded via email the same day. He also spent time over the next four days trying to source, what was a needle in an haystack task. Throughout the four days Doug was pleasant, professional and most helpful. The main reason I wanted to write this review is that I found Doug to be the most helpful trader I have ever dealt with. Other kitchen services I contacted prior didn`t want to know, or tried to sell me one of their kitchens. Doug was interested in meeting what I wanted. I find this so refreshing. Doug`s customer service is second to none.

We can highly recommend Doug Farleigh Kitchens. Cutting-edge electronic realisations were expertly brought to fruition and the new kitchen is everything we imagined — and more. We are grateful to Doug for his craftsmanship and attention to detail.

From start to finish, we knew we could trust and rely on Doug to do a great job. He was very patient with us in designing the kitchen and it was amazing to get mock ups from Jane of what could work. He gave us lots of his time through calls and emails in slowly deciding on all the different elements of the kitchen. We were very nervous about wasting money/getting it wrong but his knowledge and professionalism reassured us. He also gave his expert input and guided us away from so any poor choices so we didn't put design over functionality. He offered us his recommended team of other professionals (plumber, electrician and plasterer) which made us feel much happier that everyone would work well together. They were also excellent. Now we've had the kitchen for a year, the finished results are amazing and we're really happy with our kitchen. It was expensive but the design makes the maximum use of the space without feeling crowded and all the fixtures and fittings feel such high quality and well fitted that we know it will last for many years.

We had obtained a couple of quotes from other companies before meeting Doug but we knew from the first time we met Doug that he was the one we wanted to design and install our kitchen. During each meeting we had with Doug during the process he took time to explain and answer any questions that we had, to go through the designs and change where necessary. He took as much time as we needed to discuss the process and the work involved. Doug’s expertise, experience and workmanship was excellent throughout. For example, none of our walls were straight but Doug took the time needed to ensure that the kitchen fitted perfectly. Doug’s attention to detail is second to none. He was able to advise where certain appliances should go and had the vision that we needed. In particular we feel that we benefited immensely from the fact that Doug was designing the kitchen as well as fitting the kitchen and therefore he could see how the actual design would work in the kitchen space. He advised what type of kitchen would be suitable for us, our finished kitchen is beautiful and of a very high quality. Doug was helpful at every turn and his communication was excellent throughout. We would highly recommend Doug.

If you choose to use Doug Farleigh Kitchens you will be in very safe hands. From the initial enquiry stage through to completion, Jayne and Doug Farleigh's approach is highly professional. They listen carefully to your requirements (and dreams!) and do their absolute utmost to realise them for you. During the fitting stage, Doug's resilience to unforeseen challenges and attention to detail was superb. Jayne's support at the early design stage and with the choice, selection and purchase of white goods was absolutely invaluable. Nothing was too much trouble. In addition, and very importantly, all the trades people with whom they worked were great too. Each was professional, cheerful and very considerate, treating us and our home with great respect. Put together, all these things minimised the stress that such a project can bring. The completed kitchen is beautiful. The room is a joy to be in and has already been much admired. It is a clever blend of modern and traditional which we feel sits very comfortably in it's late Victorian setting. We think that the total cost of the kitchen was very reasonable, especially given it's very bespoke nature. The actual cost compares very favourably with that being quoted by high street names for a much less bespoke approach. We would not hesitate to recommend Doug Farleigh Kitchens to others.

Having had several kitchen fitters quote for the business, we were disappointed with the way with the way “no one was listening to our requirements” However from the moment we met Jayne of Doug Farleigh Kitchens this changed, not only did she listen, she also took the time to share some of her idea’s and make no false promises, quote and 3D drawings were completed on time By working from home it felt like they were able to offer a higher quality product because there was no middle man, our kitchen is top quality fitted by Doug himself, willing to work the extra hour to make sure the kitchen was fitted to the highest standard, strongly recommend their busy, in fact mother in law having her’s refitted by them this month

We used Doug to design and install a large kitchen and appliances. The work was extensive, including structural work, with the aim of making an awkward L-shaped kitchen nice to use and to "flow" into the rest of a larger open plan space. We looked at a number of different approaches to having the kitchen installed: self design; builder installed; other kitchen companies; and high end bespoke handmade kitchens. From all these approaches, on first meeting, it was clear the Doug had the best understanding of what we were trying to achieve. In addition to our ideas, Doug used his experience and eye for design to produce a really excellent layout. We had a design using the same doors that was prepared by a larger and better known local kitchen company: it would have cost as much but basically not achieved our goals at all as there was no design acumen in how it was prepared. Doug's workmanship and attention to detail is exceptional. Every tradesman who knows Doug comments on his attention to detail and high standards, with the "Doug Farleigh standard" being referred to by several of them repeatedly (i.e. done right!) Doug is always responsive to questions from you as a customer, or from other trades. There were no unexpected extras on the bill. Since finishing the job there have been 2 minor problems (with a tap and a worktop join). Doug has resolved both with faultless efficiently and his usual friendly approach. Could not more highly recommend.

Really nice people to deal with. Design work was innovative and on a completely different level to the other kitchen companies we had approached. Many revisions and nothing was too much trouble. If you want a company that thinks critically about your kitchen design and not someone that plonks a load of cabinets in an obvious pattern around your room the Doug and Jayne are the people for you. Doug's install was O.C.D spot on. Most tradespeople these days are just after the money once you've allocated them the contract: Doug is all about the job. Cant recommend them highly enough.

We are delighted with our new kitchen, completed a month ago. Doug's initial design was spot-on and the finished kitchen looks exactly like his computer projection. He offered advice based on our lifestyle and preferences whilst respecting our budget. Having lived with it for a few weeks, we appreciate the helpful innovations, beautiful lines, extremely practical layout and brilliant use of space. Everything was fitted by Doug personally and his team of supporting tradesmen operated to the same meticulous standard of workmanship. Doug has provided us with a superb, value-for-money, craftsman-fitted kitchen which has already been much admired. "Stunning" is the word everyone uses.
