E & W Plumbing & Heating Ltd is a family-run business. We are GAS SAFE and OFTEC registered plumbing and heating engineers.
We are based in Didcot and proudly extend our expertise throughout Oxford and Oxfordshire.
We are a family run business that has been continually growing for more than 10 years through offering an unrivalled level of service and high standards of work. Started by Richard in 2011, E and W Plumbing and Heating has grown year on year and currently employs 13 full time staff. We are now one of the largest independent plumbing and heating companies in Oxfordshire with a wealth of knowledge about all things plumbing and heating related.

Utterly trust this company to do a top rate job. Booking always easy and as I don’t live at the property where boiler is was very grateful to get a phone call 30 minutes before booking giving me time to attend. I contacted E and W Plumbing and Heating regarding a faulty boiler. They arranged a convenient time to visit the following day and even called me to let me know they were on their way. Nigel, the engineer, was polite and courteous and quickly identified the problem. Replacing the faulty part, with a spare he carried in his van, the boiler was up and running within a few minutes. I am extremely satisfied with their service and would highly recommend them to anyone in need of reliable plumbing and heating support.

I have used E & W Plumbing and Heating before in our oldhouse and I had no reason to not use them again in.our new house. Kevin, our engineer was fantastic, his knowledge was second to none. He was so caring and professional at all times. If he had to go out for materials, he would let you know, he would explain each morning, what he was doing thst day and kept us informed all the way throughout the job making sure at the end of each day we had water and gas to cook with. I would not hesitate to use them again if required for any plumbing or heating works. Outstanding

From initial contact with the office, to site survey, and onto three days of work onsite, I can't fault the company's excellent service and professionalism. Brilliant communication all through the process, and an exceptionally personable, knowledgeable, & diligent engineer. All works were carried out on time & to the agreed quote and expectations. E and W Plumbing have undertaken three jobs for us. Each has been expedited to a high standard. They visited the site to assess the work, provided a quotation and arranged an engineer to undertake the work. The work was done as specified and in all instances to budget and on time. They have an assistant to answer telephone and email queries and to coordinate service visits which I found helpful. The MD undertook the first inspection to assess our requirements and diagnose issues, and three different engineers carried out the work subsequently, and in each case on the time and date appointed. Each of them was always friendly, courteous and informative. The work areas were left very clean in each instance and the work was done to a high standard. The invoices matched the quotation in each instance. I have been impressed with E and W's service and intend to continue to use them as required.

Based on Which? and Google reviews, we booked in E&W Plumbing for an annual boiler service, experiencing a problem with hot water. The engineer performed the service as requested, but the hot water problem remained unresolved. Richard, the MD, reached out for a video call to further troubleshoot the issue and propose a solution. He followed this up with a personal visit to further clarify/agree next steps. As it happens, his visit, which involved some further troubleshooting, resolved the hot water issue, seems an airlock or contaminant in the system shifted. This was all 'part of the service' and we couldn't be more pleased with the personal approach and determination to resolve our issue, in a cost-conscious manner. I have shared with Richard that we plan some house works and will include his company in our thinking. Thanks Again. Steve S.

I have know and used the services of this company for around fourteen years, I have a rental property in Didcot and each year they carry out the boiler service and landlords certificate. On the rare occasion I have an issue at the property I know I can pick up the phone and speak with Richard direct to either sort the problem or provide invaluable advice and contacts. Over the first May Bank Holiday my tenant reported water dripping into the hall from the bathroom above, one quick call to Richard and the matter was dealt with. However, to eradicate the issue of leaking pipes, the hall ceiling had to come down so access could be gained to the bathroom pipes. A return visit was a greed with my tenant and the work carried out to her satisfaction plus the recommendation of a plasterer to carry out the remedial work. I now live in Cornwall so have to rely on traders I can trust and can contact in an emergency, this is never in doubt with E & W Plumbing. We are all going through challenging times financially, but E & W's prices are fair and competitive and I'm pleased to say Richard adopts a common sense approach to call-out charges over a Bank Holiday, for which, I am very grateful

A heating engineer who professed to be unfamiliar with our type of underfloor heating fitted the wrong part as the system was not heating to required temperature. It seems that this was a basic error. It was not possible to realise that something was amiss until now, with warmer weather upon us. It is possible that this has cost us more in gas supply than should have been the case and possibly long term damage to the system. The issue has been resolved (I hope) but we have not received a formal apology.

I recently had a new hot water cylinder installed by E & W Plumbing & Heating, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Contacted this company about an annual gas boiler and fire service. Their response was both prompt and efficient with a quote for the work and date agreed. Their customer communications by phone and email, before and after the service, we're also very good. This was a complex job involving work on 6 roof level water tanks which provided water to 3 blocks of flats. A total of 40 flats were affected. The work involved draining each rooftank, installing new stoptaps then labelling each stoptap to show which flats it turned off. So access was needed into each of the 40 flats to identify which stoptap turned off water to which cluster of flats. I was on site through the 3 days when E and W completed the work. The work was completed in an efficient, systematic and rigorous manner. Communication with me was excellent. And all three E and E staff conducted themselves in a very professional manner with occupants of the flats. I would certainly firmly recommend E and W for any small or large piece of work.

Our boiler broke down in the recent extremely cold weather. The engineer came within a couple of house and immediately knew what the problem was, ordered the new part and arranged a time, asap, to fit it. We had a problem with our boiler, so rang E & W Plumbing - they asked us to check a few things, which showed the problem was with our Calor Gas supply, not the boiler. We got new gas bottles delivered, then Richard at E & W Plumbing explained over the telephone how to get the boiler up and running again. So helpful, and all advice given totally free of charge. I can't recommend this company enough - all their staff are friendly, courteous and helpful. It would have been easy for a less scrupulous company to get two call-outs out of our problem, but E & W sorted us out over the phone and without charging us anything. Excellent service, would not use anyone else.

We have now had two jobs done by this great firm, which was warmly recommended to us by a friend. Now we know why. They replaced bathroom basin taps and shower mixer tap, and then replaced the large heat exchanger on the boiler and fitted a filter. Both jobs were done on time and within budget. The plumbers were extremely courteous and considerate and left no mess. We intend to use this company exclusively in future and to recommend them to all our friends.
