Eco Home UK has a slap dash attitude to external wall insulation. Unless you want to monitor and nag them constantly try someone else.

This was an awful experience. Were it not for many interventions this would have been a terrible piece of work. If they install EWI you will have to do all your own quality control. The customer service is awful. They don’t tell you what they’re doing and are generally unhelpful. Although the job was promised as a one-week project (but was clearly going to be at least 3-4 weeks), it took four months. Peter tells you whatever he thinks will make his life easier. He repeatedly gave inaccurate timelines to both me and my neighbour, and statements about potential disruptions - such as being without a toilet for days - were untrue. Other reviewers’ comments about his flexible relationship with the truth match my experience. Workmanship issues also appeared immediately. One operative entered my kitchen, searched for mugs and tea bags, made himself tea, and refused to speak to me. He also ignored the agreed plan to insulate to the midpoint of the party wall, a key construction detail. Throughout the process, no one from Eco-Homes ever apologised. I had to call them back multiple times to fix problems, including: Replace a section of wall insulation which had been installed incorrectly (Peter insisted it was fine until I quoted technical guidance) Re-lay loft insulation that had been trashed by the electrician fitting new fans Adjust the new RWP that discharged onto the render instead of into the drain (3 tries to get that right) Extend the boiler discharge pipe (2 tries)

We are very sorry you feel disappointed, but statements in this review are factually inaccurate its important to correct the record for other readers. We never stated the job would take “one week”. The extended duration was caused by: The customer’s mid-project decision to over-clad both left and right party walls onto two neighbours’ land (requiring two party-wall agreements that had to be arranged after work had already started) A 16-day period when the customer was abroad and explicitly stated there would be no access and repeated restricted availability before and after her holiday. The demand to insulate past the boundary line of the customers property onto both neighbours walls came after scaffolding was up. We completed this additional work for free. All snagging items were resolved. Loft insulation was deliberately pulled back to run electrics and was fully replaced and topped up free of charge. Rubbish was placed in a designated area at the rear of the small mid-terrace garden (no access) to minimise trips through the house. We hold the dated correspondence and are happy for Which? or any independent party to review it. The installation was completed to specification, independently signed off, and all guarantees and commissioning documents were provided the moment final payment cleared. We remain very proud of the finished job have had many compliments of the high standard of finish. We and have included a photo in our profile for the readers.

We had contacted an independant surveyor in early 2025, as we suspected we might have a damp problem in our bungalow. He assured us that the dampness was a condensation problem which was being caused by cold walls, which he suggested might have been caused by the failure of out of date cavity wall insulation. We found a number of likely providers via Trusted Trader and, although some were just a few pounds cheaper, Eco Homes were the only company who actually sent their own surveyor out to inspect the problem. Their man, Josh, confirmed, and explained, what the problem was, with the collapse of the Urea Formaldehyde insulation failing and what Ecohomes would do to correct it. We placed an order with them, paid a deposit and 2 weeks later they were on site. In 2 days they removed the failed insulation, which had settled into the base of the cavities and was little more than a very fine dust. As such, it was, absolutely, no longer fit for purpose. Day 3 saw the arrival of the insertion team and the job was completed by mid afternoon of that day. Because this review is being written midsummer, we can't yet say how effective the project has been, but we can say that Ecohomes has fulfilled all of their promises on delivery, what to expect and general efficiency. We have no hesitation in recommending them for a very professional job well done.

I found Eco Home UK through Retrofit West - they are a trusted partner. They quickly arranged for a surveyor to call. He was extremely reassuring, polite, and courteous. He showed me a video about cavity wall insulation and drilled some test holes, which he filled well afterwards. On the day of the installation, Steve and Jack were also polite and reassuring. They worked quickly and efficiently, explaining anything that differed from my original understanding (they found ways to avoid certain drill holes). As it's summertime, it's too early to say what difference the CWI has made, but I am quietly optimistic of feeling a lot warmer! The communications process before, during, and after has been professional and timely. Thanks, all of you.

We chose EcoHome because they were a Which Trusted Trader and had other accreditations. The surveyor visited and he was efficient. The initial contact with the manager was good and an early installation date was agreed. Two installers arrived on the agreed date and initially seemed competent and friendly. Unfortunately they spilled a large quantity of the insulation beads and had no means of clearing these up except a dustpan and brush! There was also some adhesive spilled on a window and wall which not cleaned off. They then disappeared without saying they were going, leaving us to clear up their mess. I reported this to the manager whose response was unsatisfactory and there was no further follow up or apology. After the initial positive work it left us feeling disappointed with the lack of cleaning up and lack of adequate follow up.

Deal with Eco Home was a breath of fresh air! From survey to installation was less than 2 weeks, both the surveyor and contractor were very professional and friendly and I couldn’t be happier with their service. Also got a follow up call and received all the documentation (certificate, warranty, etc.) so I can prove the value added to the property if required. Definitely will recommend.
