Another company left the job of applying external insulation unfinished, ghosted me and caused damage to my home. Ecohome cleared up the mess the first company had left and did excellent work. They always turned up when they said they would, communicated well and the care and precision with which they worked were very impressive. They were friendly and thoughtful about the care of my home. On top of being happy with the work, it's cheered me up!

Absolutely appalling customer service - Job full of errors and failings

They sent large rolls of sodden wet insulation that flooded my living room, they spent days claiming it could be installed wet, the material had black mold on it so they eventually swapped it, they failed to sufficiently book a plumber so new radiator pipework wasn't done by their plumber, I was left to find an emergency plumber and had to pay myself, they begrudgingly discounted the bill from my Eco Home bill but said they wouldn't be hanging or plumbing in my radiators as they claimed they were out of plumbing budget, they used bathroom silicone around the windows that is impossible to paint, they rushed the 2nd room to squeeze in the job into the defined dates due to loosing days from the wet material, one wall is buldging at the bottom, holes around the edges of the 2nd room, I had to point out missing insulation material where cold spots could have formed. The worst thing though is that one side of the studwork needed to fit a radiator is missing, yet Peter claims it's there despite his photo showing clearly it is not! I now have two radiators unfitted and it's getting cold! He refuses to admit what anyone with eyes can see - that there is a stud on one side and not on the other! My plumber cannot fit the radiator! You cannot fit a radiator to a 10cm void! Absolutely shocking customer service! Not one single apology from Peter! He denies he failed to sufficiently book the plumber! Denies there is missing studwork! Refuses to rectify this issue!

Thank you for your feedback. We take all customer concerns seriously. The insulation was delivered wet two days before installation by the system manufacturer. We asked to store it before the team arrived. We never stated that we would install wet insulation. Upon arrival, our team had the insulation replaced by the manufacturer immediately. To install internal wall insulation, we cap radiators. The customer requested that their radiators be moved to a new location, so they instructed their own plumber. As a gesture of goodwill, we paid the plumber's bill. However, the cost was four times higher than capping the radiators, any future plumbing work would incur additional costs beyond the original estimate. Unfortunately, this means we have now installed your project at a financial loss to the company. Our internal wall systems are installed according to manufacturer design, using materials supplied by them. We document this process with photos to demonstrate our adherence to there system specifications. We offered multiple solutions for mounting the radiator and provided photos of the system specifications. We consulted with the system manufacturer's design team, who also offered the option of seeking their own second opinion. Unfortunately, none of these options were taken up. Eco home were excellent. They were very easy to deal with and they made organising the date and time very easy. When they turned up they asked a few basic questions, were very professional and then they got on with the job with no further interaction which is ideal for me working from home. The cavity wall was filled with no drama at all, tradesmen were knowledgeable and friendly. Couldn’t really ask for any more tbh.

Bead does not remain in walls - would not recommend

Although the installation team were very pleasant and appeared to work diligently it is clear that they did not correctly apply the adhesive required to bind the beads. Since the installation bead has been appearing outside the cavity walls whenever it is windy, very often inside the kitchen. The installers did return to clear up the mess on a couple of occasions and took away with them sack loads of unbonded beads. There has been no noticeable improvement in the insulation of the property and despite numerous requests they did not show any images inside the cavities do demonstrate that any walls had been installed properly

Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent insulation installation. We adhere to the BBA) guidelines and provide insurance-backed guarantees for our work. Additionally, we maintain photographic documentation of all installations. During our return visit and subsequent inspection of your home, we discovered significant roof damage, which we do not assess as part of our cavity wall insulation service. The wind was carrying the insulation beads from the damaged roof area onto various parts of your property. To resolve this issue, we performed a complimentary roof repair at your home. As explained, the insulation beads are not intended to stick together, as this would hinder their effectiveness. Instead, we use a resin to create a tactile bond, and the correct amount was recorded and applied. It's not surprising that you haven't noticed significant heating savings since the installation was done in August when you're not using heating. However, you should notice a cooler home during warmer weather and will benefit fully from the insulation during the upcoming winter months.

I had considered having cavity wall insulation for many years, however my wife was so concerned about reports of damp and damage to brickwork that we had not proceeded until recently. I researched types of insulation and companies, deciding to contact Eco Home UK, partly because of them being a Which Recommended Trader. The price quoted following a survey was roughly as I expected, so we decided to proceed with the installation of bonded beads which was undertaken within a few weeks following the survey. The insulation was installed over 2 days by installers who were very professional, friendly, and considerate. Inevitably there was a fair bit of dust generated from drilling the holes, however dusty sills etc were cleaned by the installers without us having to ask. The size of the holes drilled inevitably chipped off the corners of bricks, but this was no worse than the pictures shown on the Eco Home UK website. Overall we are very pleased with the installation, and look forward to the insulation benefits in the coming winters regarding comfort and fuel saving.

The two man team who carried out the work turned up on time and were extremely hard working . They are both Friendly with a pleasant manner and left everything clean and tidy. We were very impressed with Eco Home UK Group from the moment we contacted them for advice. The surveyor who visited our home was extremely polite and helpful in addressing all of our queries. He was able to provide us with a quotation for the necessary work. Once we had agreed to have the cavity wall insulation installed, he telephoned the office in Bristol to arrange a date for the work to be undertaken at our convenience. So a schedule and price was agreed almost immediately. Prior to the installation date (25 May 2024) we received an email from the company and, based on that, contacted our neighbours to warn them about noise and dust for which they were very grateful. On the day of installation the fitters arrived on time and undertook the work quickly and efficiently. They were very tidy and cleared up after themselves. During the morning they discovered that one wall was unsuitable for installation as built with thermalite block. As a result, the original contract price was adjusted accordingly prior to payment. The insurance-backed guarantee is a bonus. The after-sales care has been excellent with follow-up calls since the installation to ensure we are happy. Altogether we had a great experience dealing with Eco Home UK Group and would recommend the company to anyone considering insulating their home.

Loft insulation and raised flooring

Arranged for surveyor to visit for quote for loft insulation and raised flooring, he arrived on arranged day and time after looking in attic i was given a quote which i found very reasonable, was given a date work work to be done which was sooner than i expected. On day 2 workmen arrived introduced themselves, very polite and friendly, they wasted no time unloading their truck and put boot covers on and proceeded to take materials to loft, they worked non stop, when finished invited me to inspect work which i couldnt fault they then proceeded to hoover up any mess their was. The whole process from start to finish was 1st class, I cant fault ECO HOMES at all, would recomend them for their efficiency

Eco Home Ltd carried out my cavity wall insulation. From the first survey visit to the end of the job, I found them polite, helpful and non-pushy. The lads who did the installation were friendly and explained exactly what would happen. They carried out the work in good time and cleaned up very well afterwards; even doing the communal courtyard in which my house is sited. There is an insurance-backed 25 year guarantee of the product so I’m secure in the knowledge that I’m covered for any future problems. Very happy overall.
