Mr Nichol and his team redecorated our hallway, kitchen and bathroom in November this year. From the start I found this company easy to deal with. Jim Nichol got back to my enquiry quickly; turned up on time to do an estimate and was very helpful with suggestions when he was here. His estimate was a little higher than other estimates but he inspired much more confidence in me than the other quotes. The team turned up on time every day. There was no slippage in the timetable. The people he has working for him were all polite and nice to have around, and appear skilled at their work. I really liked that they didn't play music or disturb the neighbours on the stair in any way. They tidied up after themselves, and altogether did a very good job. I changed my mind about a couple of things along the way and I was struck by how there was no problem at all doing this. Mr Nichol sorted everything out in good humour and immediately. He was remarkably easy to contact and kept in good contact with me throughout the work. I have no hesitation in recommending this company to others.

Elite Decorating painted and partly re-puttied some of my external windows and replaced the mastic around them. The work was done in February 2020 but issues soon became apparent: bubbling caused by painting over rotten sills; mastic falling out, irregular replacement putty, and paint runs. Some remedial action was eventually taken, in June 2020, but issues remained. After many months of inaction, in part caused by COVID-19, in July 2021 I had to give an ultimatum to have this remedied or I would get another contractor to do it. In the end I decided to strip, repair and repaint one sill and completely replace another - which was severely rotten and clearly should never have been painted over. The mastic continued to be a problem, but it took over 14 months - from February 2021 to April 2022 - and numerous prompts for someone to come round and repair it, which took about 10 minutes to do. Given the poor quality of the work and the poor customer service to rectify deficiencies, I would certainly not recommend Elite Decorating.

We originally got James team to complete a retail premises 2 years ago in Glasgow. We got them back on this occasion to freshen up the premises prior to Christmas. As we are a retail jeweller, the attention to detail is critical and James is aware of this and conveyed the importance to his team who did a great job. We would not hesitate to recommend James and his team where all the decorators on our jobs we have had are first class. It is in their interest to get things right and hence we have asked them to do future work for us.

Jim and his team once again have completed an excellent job painting the exterior of our house. They are very professional, courteous and reasonably priced. We had no problem whatsoever and cannot speak highly enough.

James and his team recently did a outside painting job for me. James organised for the scaffolding to be erected and removed. He and his team did a very thorough job. The job took a little longer than anticipated because of the weather and availability of materials due to the pandemic. James explained the reasons the delays to us and kept us informed of schedules and progress. We are very happy with the end result and are happy to recommend Elite decorating.

Jim's team did an ok job of repainting my flat but painted over some windows which I can't now open. He was hard to contact and when I did reach him he became increasingly unpleasant and truculent. When we finally agreed a time for him to come and fix this he didn't turn up. His team did an ok job, they are a run of the mill painter and decorator. But they can't follow through with their own errors. I do not recommend.

My title says it all. It was an outside painting job. Jim and team spent a lot of time on preparation - plenty of sanding and rubbing down. They took great care in bringing all the windows back to excellent condition. The team worked safely, were well organised, were tidy and kept us informed of how the work was progressing. The quotation price was very good value and the initial plan of work was kept to. Jim and his team were always cheery, well turned out and we were comfortable having them in and around our house. When I first met Jim I felt here was a painter who knew what he was talking about and so proved. Thank you Jim for a very good job - see you again in a few years time.

We had our kitchen replaced and needed a decorator who could work round the times of the other tradesmen. Jim and his team did exactly this, they turned up bang on time whenever they said they would and the quality of the job is excellent. We were so impressed with the finished job we have already asked them to quote for other rooms. Jim runs a very professional family business that you just know you can trust to treat your home like it was their own.
