My move was a bit last minute. I called F Smith & Son on 20 January about moving on the 23 January. Lorraine organised a video call for that afternoon and I had a quote by the end of the day. The quote was very reasonable. The 2 movers on the day were excellent. They were friendly, courteous, quick and professional, both loading and unloading at my new address. They did everything I asked and I was very happy with the service. I can confidently recommend F Smith & Son.

Used F Smith and Son for a house move in january 2026. The booking and quote process was easy with knowledgeable staff and despite some delays in exchange, they communicated well and were supportive on revised dates. Moving day went very well with a professional team who moved us out and then in very carefully but swiftly. We took their packing service and this was well worth it.

Moving can be awful, even in the best of times. The team here did everything within their power to make my life better and I am incredibly grateful for it. From showing up earlier in the week to deliver boxes, to arriving promptly with great communication, to being friendly and cheerful throughout the day, to figuring out how to do things -- despite a narrower entryway than I had understood, to assembling and reassembling stuff without a complaint, to acting professionally, to being engaging... to even collecting the boxes post-move for recycling. I honestly can't list all the ways that I'm grateful to the team for making my difficult moving experience as painless as humanly possible. Thank you to the three lads who helped me and the back office team.

We had a great experience with this company. They arrived on time and made sure to put covers on the floors and furniture. They were very professional and a great bunch of guys, nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely recommend them.

This is the second time we’ve used Smiths to move home. The team were excellent and took all the stress out of the process for us. The move took place over 4 days with packing on day 1, loading day 2 and the morning of completion day. And then travel to our new place and subsequent unloading. All our stuff was placed where we asked for it and nothing we did seemed to faze the chaps. I cannot recommend this firm highly enough

They have been incredibly helpful and patient navigating a complicated selling process but being able to do our packing and moving. They were very efficient and loading to the new house was super quick. Items were generally well packed and no items were damaged. I would have preferred a bit more detail on the boxes (rather than just ‘spare room bits’) but overall really pleased.

Arrived on time to pack everything on the day before our move. Huge amount of work done, quickly and efficiently, and the small lorry was loaded to save time next day. Staff were friendly and good humoured. On the moving day, all was packed in 2 hours, including taking off and rehanging 2 internal doors to get furniture out. At our new home, all was unloaded and put in correct rooms plus 2 beds put back together in another 2 hours. Nothing was broken, and we have a lot of breakable glass and china. We were amazed at how easy they made everything look!

Everything about this company is top class - cannot complain about anything. From the office staff all the way through the employees are high quality and very efficient.

We have just undertaken a large house move after over two decades in the same house. All of our goods were packed well and very efficiently. We had some hiccups with the actual completion date and the team were extremely helpful and accommodating during what was a very stressful time. The work was done on time, within budget, and the communication with the team was fantastic. I highly recommend this company.
