I was very pleased with the service F Smith & Son provided. That ran from the individual who surveyed my flat and moving needs, the drop off of the packing materials, the two individuals who moved my boxes and furniture out of my old flat into my new home, and the office staff who processed the payments. Very courteous and efficient. Very glad I took the recommendation from a friend who had used them earlier this year.

Our moving experience was made so much easier and less stressful thanks to the team at F Smith & Son (Croydon) Ltd. From the initial communication and booking process to the move itself, they were professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Our belongings were moved to our new home efficiently and with great care. We would absolutely recommend their services or use them again in future.

I highly recommend F Smith & Son for packing and removals. From the survey for the fee estimate, through to the move itself, everyone was very helpful and professional. They went beyond the service offered by large national firms which was invaluable to me. They made what could have been a very stressful experience very straight forward and easy.

We used F Smith for our recent home removal. The 5 lads who loaded the vans on 11th January were really efficient and friendly and took great care. The vans were unloaded to our new home on 15th January with equal efficiency and care by 3 operatives. All were very helpful, flexible, polite and cheerful. The whole booking and execution of the service was painless and very professional. I would definitely use Smiths again.

We have used Smith and Sons before on our previous move and had no hesitation using them again for this move. We were not disappointed. From the moment of booking through to arranging the final collection of packing materials everyone that has interacted with me has been the utmost professional. The move went without a hitch, no damage to any walls or our possessions and it was completed quicker than expected. I had a complex move having to pick up items from another removalist, with whom I had had an altercation, and deliver to my residence. The items in question were to be hoisted three floors down to the lowest floor. It took a while to agree a date because I had to resolve insurance issues with the previous removalist. F. Smith and Son was a pleasure to deal with right from the start to the end of the move. Their admin team (Lorraine) was incredibly professional. The quote was thorough and they took their time to understand the terrain. Mr Smith's communication was professional and timely and consistent as we were delayed in confirming a date. The moving crew on the day were skilled, professional and polite. They knew exactly what they were doing and got on with it with absolutely no drama. I would have no hesitation in recommending them and using them again myself.

We had an excellent service from F Smith & Son, comprising removals from house into storage, storage, and removals from storage into new house. The pre-move assessment and discussions were very friendly and professional, and very understanding of late changes and options. On the day, our removals team were efficient, tidy, and very careful - psying close attention to our wishes, while often offering suggestions. And between dates, we had clear, simple and regular communications. At all times, inspiring confidence that our possessions were being well looked after. Thank you for a superb service, which helped managed our anxieties at all times.

We were very impressed with the estimator. Compared to the other companies we approached, we felt that we were treated as individuals. We were not some part of a process that required us to sign endless disclaimers. The office staff were also friendly and efficient The removal men themselves were also excellent - nothing was too much trouble. I would happily recommend F S Smith if you have a house removal to undertake (we went for the full packing service and have no regrets - it was the right decision for us).

Extremely satisfied with all aspects of our move to another local property. The team arrived very punctually and worked continually over the day of packing, which they did. There was plenty of (some paid for by us) material to pack our own delicate/personal items. We had some awkwardly placed pieces of furniture to take out and, with great ingenuity and good humour, they succeeded without any damage. I don’t want to single out any one particular team member - they were all great, worked extremely hard over the moving day too, were very helpful and friendly. There were no extra costs, only very minor damage - all at a very competitive price. Overall very happy with our experience moving with FH Smith - thank you again to the guys!🙂

The company really care about their workers ensuring they receive breaks, and training, and are fit and knowledgeable. The workers moved my furniture with care and precision, were fit and able to work at pace, and knew when to break and what challenges to tackle first. I was completely overwhelmed at how quickly one person built my old bed frame. It would have taken me many hours to do on my own. They were a very well match pair who had different strengths and were open about what they found challenging. The teamwork was fantastic. They remembered things I forgot such as covering my mattress. The whole day was soooo calm as they were so reliable and took control. Expensive but I guess very worth it as I had zero hassle. The office staff were super too.

What a top tip, from the first meeting with our estimator (Steve) very professional to contact with the staff at and finally with the team who worked with us over two days led by Chris & Lee with Jim& Conner. It was a highly professional and friendly no fuss and nothing is too much trouble company. My wife can not speak more highly of this the company and their employees. F Smith & Sons moved us from Surrey to Co. Durham. The move took 3 days which was the agreed timeframe. They were recommended to us and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to others. The driver communicated with us by text and was good enough to do a slight detour. They were polite and efficient in the packing, loading, delivering and unloading. They rebuilt a triple wardrobe and a desk as previously agreed. I was impressed by their processes, a very professional outfit. The staff in the office have always been friendly and approachable.

The team of three arrived early on the day and were efficient in every way. Nothing was broken or lost. We were very pleased. Your quotation was very competitive and much better than using removers from our part of Surrey. We had not thought of using removers from the delivery end and are very glad we did. Excellent.

I had stuff in storage for over five years. Finally had it returned and I was amazed at the condition of everything. It all looked like it only went into storage last week rather than several years ago. Very happy with the staff when they came to put it all into storage and also with the staff who returned it all. quickly done both times with a minimum of fuss. F Smith & Sons were instructed to collected furniture already stored at a warehouse in Dorset and return to Croydon to resume storage at their own warehouse. Throughout the whole matter F Smith conducted themselves with sheer professionalism, fair with their costs and exceptional with their admin. It was a pleasure to liaise with Lorraine and John Smith, both of whom at all times could not have been more helpful to ensure the project ran smoothly. Which it did. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone in Croydon who wishes to receive good old fashioned service. Something that appears to have gone out of fashion these days.

The service provided by the team was excellent from the admin at the start to the loading and delivery on moving day. We had some particularly fragile items which were handled with care and attention. This is the second time I've used F Smith and Son, and I wouldn't consider using any other removals firm. They are incredibly efficient, clear in their communications, and very accommodating. It's always easy to get hold of them, and they are always polite and friendly in their dealings. The removals people themselves got the job done in no time. So impressed and grateful!

Although only moving a relatively short distance we still found F Smith & Son (Croydon) Ltd. very professional in carrying out our move. Everything ran smoothly from the time we received a detailed quote with options and costs. Telephone queries and the service provided was exemplary. Everything was clearly explained and followed up promptly in writing. Prior to moving day we had a part packing service and the staff member was friendly, communicative and efficient. On the day all the staff proved to be hard working, accommodating, friendly and professional in completing our move successfully. We were very pleased with the outcome and have no hesitation in recommending Smiths removals.

F Smith & Son (Croydon) Ltd were able to help me with a short distance move with little notice. The quote was sent over quickly after submitting video/photos. Price was reasonable and extras like boxes, tape, insurance were clearly detailed and available as a choice (not required). Boxes for hanging items were included in the quote. On the move day, they arrived promptly, verified all items to move and quickly but carefully loaded everything. After a lunch break, the unloading began. We have heavy, American-sized furniture and while challenging at times to fit through awkward doorways, they didn't give up. Nothing broken/damaged in the move including glass hutch and solid wood table. Would highly recommend and use this F Smith & Son again to move.

I carefully reviewed different removal companies and chose this one because I was really impressed with the professionalism from the start. They had answers to every question, knew how to package quite tricky things and on the days of packing/unpacking were really excellent. Coupled with this the Director involved himself as well which meant the service felt very personalised. Great professional and friendly staff, with great humour too which always helps :-)

I used F Smith & Son to move a piano from one room to another in my house. Whilst this was a small job for the company nevertheless the whole process was dealt with in a very professional manner. The quote was reasonable and on the day I was promised a phone call giving me warning of the crew's arrival which I received. The crew arrived and efficiently and quickly moved the piano - no fuss, no mess and no damage. I have used this company before and following my recent experience would definitely use again.

From my first enquiry to the last of my items being safely delivered to my new home, the whole team were absolutely fantastic. Had a great experience from start to finish with Smiths. Quote was thorough and answered all my questions. The office were very responsive and helpful when my dates changed, keeping me up to date with their availability. We paid for a packing service and Connor arrived a couple of days before the move to do this. He was certainly more speedy than we would ever have been- would highly recommend, and it was certainly beneficial to have most of our goods bar the large furniture pre-loaded in advance of moving. Our move day went very smoothly, despite being the hottest day of the year. The team loaded and unloaded everything carefully and we had no breakages at all- I was pleasantly surprised that the had unloaded everything before 3.30pm. Would highly recommend, both in terms of quality of service and on competitiveness of quote.

A brilliant job from start to finish. From the initial video survey with Steve and the helpfulness of Lorraine in the office to the unloading at our new place in Preston, we enjoyed a thoroughly professional and friendly service throughout. Ian and Barry, packing on day one in London, and Ian and Richard unloading on day two were thoughtful, good humoured and approachable, and kept us informed of how the job was panning out. Everything was well packed using the proper protective covers where necessary and each box labelled clearly. Cannot speak highly enough of the service and would recommend this firm to anyone.

Really happy - we paid extra to get them to pack for us which was the dream. Meant we could focus on moving our new baby and 2 cats. It was all done quickly with zero breakages. Not the cheapest quote we got but definitely the most professional. Glad we went with them.

We recently moved and requested the move in two parts. We initially moved all boxes and crates followed by all furniture. Throughout the whole process the level of service was exceptional. The team we had were respectful of current social distancing and handled our belongings with great care. All items were placed exactly where we asked. Our moves were totally stress free as a result of all of this. We could not fault them on anything from start to finish.

We used F Smith and Son to pack and move for us. We have 2 young children and the packing service was invaluable for us. It meant we could live normally right up until the day before the move. We also moved during lockdown and they wore masks, kept a social distance and as we couldn’t go out while they packed (it was raining), they were so considerate to this too. I was impressed with F Smith & Son before the move day even began. The virtual 'pricing up' was organised quickly and reassured me I was dealing with a company who valued customer service. Ian and Connor provided excellent service helping me move furniture and fittings during a house move. The dimensions of the furniture and the parking availability weren't the best, but all work was completed effectively and with a smile. I was particularly pleased with the service when we arrived at the new property; care was taken with my items and they were all placed in the correct rooms as specified. Furniture which had been taken apart was back together correctly, almost in the blink of an eye! Thanks very much - highly recommended.

I got quote from 3 companies and was so surprised when this one came in cheapest, as they were by far the most professional and organised - they had thought of so many things that hadn't even crossed my mind. the 2 days of packing and moving were positively enjoyable. The team that came were jolly, polite and very efficient. Moving is one of the most stressful things in life. F.Smith & Son helped enormously. They took care of everything - and I mean that literally. Ian put us at ease, kept us informed and did a great job.

Selected them to move us from a two bedroom flat to a 3 bedroom house. One person packed up most of our entire flat up in one day, working very hard whilst still wrapping and packing it very safely and two moved us the next day. Boxes were well labelled so we could find stuff after we arrived. Portable wardrobes for hanging clothes. Original estimate was well done and explained. Cheapest part of the move(!) and well worth it.

I used F smith for my move from Surrey to Lancashire - the journey up was terrible with snow and sleet and the delivered and unpacked as planned. Actual removal went without a hitch, 4 friendly and professional staff arrived, nothing was a problem, the bad weather, the dog, the 6th floor flat to move me into. There was a lift but one item had to be carried on the stairs! This is a firm I can warmly recommend, their experienced staff has seen it all before and do a great job with a smile and understanding. Not a single item was damaged or even scratched.

Having never used a removal company before, we decided to obtain 3 quotes. F J Smith was the first and from the word go I had decided this was the one! Steve came to give us a quote, he was extremely polite, courteous and very professional, explained the whole process and put our minds at rest. The quote was fair and competitive. All communications with the whole team before during and after the move were excellent and any queries resolved. Chris and Aiden came on the first day to pack, again very personable, professional, efficient and hard working. The day of the move could not have gone smoother, they arrived with 3 other members of the team to continue and finish packing and loading who were also great. On arrival at our new home, whilst waiting for us to arrive, socialised with the neighbours with tea and biscuits and then proceeded to unpack, put certain things where we needed them and left the boxes in the appropriate rooms. Chris and the team did an excellent job for us packing and moving us from Alexandra Road to Temple Road. The packing on the day before was super efficient and most of the packing and loading of the boxes and furniture completed in one day which we found impressive. The guys all turned up on time both days, early in fact on the first day, and again were efficient in moving the remainder of our belongs the morning of the move. They exceeded our expectations throughout by having us in the new house midday on the Thursday. This included stopping off at a storage lock up to pick up additional belongings. The service provided by Ian, Barry and Dylan meant that our house move was stress free (unlike other moves in the past). They arrived on time equipped with everything to ensure that both the property and our belongings (blankets for furniture, hanging rails, a few extra boxes) were protected throughout. Can not recommend highly enough this brilliant company. From the moment they came to quote to the day our furniture came back from storage. The service has been first class. I can not fault them in any way.

I used this company for a recent move. They were more expensive than other options but I was impressed with their representative who came over to provide the initial quote - specifically the level of attention and consideration they would employ. On the day the movers arrives promptly and were friendly and professional. I noticed that they were not employing everything I had been told they would - such as wrapping chest of drawers to keep drawers from opening - but trusted in their experience. After the move had been completed I noticed a few scratches here and there but, as I had forgotten to take pictures before the move, couldn't confirm it was as a result of the move. There was also a large crack in a window in my old property but again, I couldn't prove it was as a result of movers. The one thing I have contacted the company about is a missing plant. It went on the truck but never arrived at my new home. I have emailed several times and had only one response which was to question if it had actually been part of the move, when I confirmed it had I had no other response. It may seem a small thing but the plant had sentimental value and the fact the company has failed to even acknowledge my email let alone provide any form of apology is appalling. Would I recommend them? They were professional but I don't think they care as much about you as a customer and your belongings as they lead you to believe. For that reason, I would find it hard to use them again.

From the moment that I contacted F Smith & Son I felt in safe hands. I initially spoke with Steve who was friendly but, perhaps, more importantly, assured and professional. We were able to quickly schedule a time when he would visit and assess what would be required to move my furniture from my flat to my home. Very quickly thereafter I received a very competitive quote, which I was more than happy to accept. On the day of the move I was immediately put at ease by the knowledgeable team of three removers. The furniture was carefully taken out of the flat, down two flights of stairs, with the minimum of fuss. In no time all was packed up and we were ready to move. When we got to the house the team were extremely polite and helpful, taking each item to each particular room as requested. Part of the removal included the dismantling and reassembly of beds, which was done quickly and in a more than competent manner. The whole process was carried out in accordance with the agreed schedule for the sum quoted. What can often be an extremely stressful occasion was made pleasant and hassle free by all at F Smith & Son. Should the need arise, I will certainly be using F Smith & son again, and recommending them to all my friends.

I moved over 500 miles from England to a Scottish Island which took 3 days in total (loading, Tachograph driving restrictions, unloading) also involved a ferry crossing, I was on my own moving to somewhere I knew no one as you can imagine I was more than a little nervous but from the very start the staff at F.Smith & Son removal company put me at ease which is why I chose them the foreman (Ian) even came to the house at the weekend to introduce himself to put my mind at ease and to give me the opportunity to ask any questions I may have. I have to say with great pleasure absolutely nothing went wrong it could not have gone any smoother I had absolutely nothing to worry about they dealt with everything and with a very professional manner - I cannot recommend this company highly enough

We had a comparatively small move, literally 2 streets away and not a huge amount of stuff (lots of boxes and a few heavy items). Smiths provided us with a very detailed well tailored quote which aimed to keep it economical for us to use a removal service rather than a man and a van. Obviously it would have been a bit cheaper to hire a man and a van, but with a tight completion to do we wanted a professional outfit who we could rely on. On the day the service was fantastic. The two removers were punctual and professional. They worked really hard and were really friendly and fun to chat with which really helped take the stress off the day. I'm really glad we went with Smiths and will recommend them in the future.

After a horrible few months dealing with conveyance solicitors we were both at our limit with the stress we could handle. F Smith and Son in no way added to it. In fact it was a relief to deal with someone involved in the moving process who actually were professionals. An excellent Company, with nothing too much trouble and a very personal as well as professional service, from the management, operatives and office staff. I had packers in for 2 days beforehand and on the day 3 staff were careful and swift in loading and unloading to where I wanted things. From Steve coming out to estimate for a move from South Croydon to the Isle of Wight, the office with their help on booking the changing provisional moving dates, to the actual move which took three days, the service received was first class. First day packing up smaller items, second day packing up the larger items, loading the van and transporting down, and third day unloading and placing items in required positions - the service given by this family run firm was friendly, polite and extremely professional - as said, first class. The men involved in the packing were extremely quick and efficient and Ian and Martin were a joy to have working for us in what can be a stressful time. This is a firm that is not only recommended for their work but also for a price that was very fair and reasonable.

This company was fantastic. I liked Steve, who came to estimate. He was professional and I had confidence that they would do a good job. Our move took three days. They packed a huge truck on day 1 which disappeared until day 3 and another huge truck took and delivered to the new house on day 2, the day of completion. The main two guys, Adrian and Lee were great. This firm is an established well-oiled machine who know what they are doing whilst retaining the family business approach. I would recommend them.

Smiths came recommended by friends. Our experience backs up the recommendations. All contacts with directors, office staff, and removal staff was professional and pleasant. Our constantly changing completion date was dealt with without fuss. Packing on Saturday was done very methodically and efficiently. On Monday our possessions were moved into a huge van and stored expertly by a team of four professionals with about 100 years removal experience between them. On Tuesday the van arrived in good time. Local experience help was hired. A team of two unloaded the van and put the goods on the lift. Another team of two emptied the lift and moved our stuff into our new flat. By about 1pm we were shaking hands with everything moved in. No breakages. No losses.

From first to last the service provided has been excellent. The team packed our stuff very quickly to enable us plenty of time to travel to Bury St Edmunds on 26th,and unpacked equally as efficiently this end. Thanks to them and to Lorraine in the office who was always helpful especially considering we were novices to the whole procedure.

I was very impressed with the service we received from start to finish. The home visit for the quote was very thorough and I felt assured from that point that our possessions would be in safe hands. On moving day the team were on time and kept to time throughout the move although there was never any sense of us being rushed or that any request we made for things to be done in a particular way was too much for them. They were helpful, friendly, courteous and very careful with our possessions. The job was not complete until they checked with us that they had done all that they could and that we were satisfied. As our title suggests we were more than happy with the service from F Smith & Son. From start to finish they were a pleasure to deal with and certainly reduced any of the usual moving-day stresses. The management team were very efficient and professional when arranging our quotation and booking our removals slot. The removals team themselves were a pleasure to deal with and full of energy which made our moving day work like clockwork. I would definitely use and recommend F Smith & Son to anyone. A wonderful company.

We received honest advice and a competative quote. On arrival, Barry, Martin and Ian immediately put me at ease. They worked with speed and their experience & professionalism showed all the way through the move. We felt they went above and beyond our expectations and our expectations were high because our friend who recommended you, is very particular! Having been quite stressed preparing for the move we can honestly say we both enjoyed the move. We would definitely have no issues recommending them.

Efficiently packed and transported our possessions. Cheerful and helpful guys. Only asked for occasional cup of tea!

After a shaky start (confusion over the number of crew and start times, exacerbated by poor communication) we received an excellent service - quick and efficient packing and a seamless removal 2 days later at a reasonable price. Very nice packing & removal crew.

A friend of mine recently moved and recommended F Smith & Son when we had to find a bigger place. They came around and did a very professional estimate -- it was clear they were clued up. They beat the three other vendors price, too. My wife and I have accrued a load of stuff along the years, and they packed it solid in five hours. When it was time to move, they handled that with just as much professionalism and speed. They did things they did not have to do. They went out of their way to make our move as comfortable as possible. No way these guys can be beaten. If you try hard, you very well may match them. But, only just. I hope I never have to move again. If I do, it will be F Smith & Son doing to for me. They display patience and understand the pressure you go through when you are a link in a chain.

At a very stressful time of moving, we had the fortune to have F Smith & Sons to move us. Ours was a long distance move and the team we had were just wonderful, they worked so hard and nothing was too much trouble they were polite and courtesy and respectful at all times, very professional, just wonderful. I could not recommend them highly enough.

Two guys to do the move from a 2 bed flat and to then pack it in a storage unit. Job was done quickly and carefully.

We were recommended by friends who used this company and did the same as us relocated up north, we were not disappointed. It was a 3 day move, they packed for us on the 1st day and moved out some furniture. The 2nd day they moved the rest of our home. The 3rd day they moved us into our new home. Two great guys moved us could not fault them in anyway made our move go so smoothly nothing was too much for them (thank you). From the person who came to give us a quote right through to the day we moved in this company provided an excellent service. Worth every penny and competitively priced. Highly recommend.
