I used this company for a recent move. They were more expensive than other options but I was impressed with their representative who came over to provide the initial quote - specifically the level of attention and consideration they would employ. On the day the movers arrives promptly and were friendly and professional. I noticed that they were not employing everything I had been told they would - such as wrapping chest of drawers to keep drawers from opening - but trusted in their experience. After the move had been completed I noticed a few scratches here and there but, as I had forgotten to take pictures before the move, couldn't confirm it was as a result of the move. There was also a large crack in a window in my old property but again, I couldn't prove it was as a result of movers. The one thing I have contacted the company about is a missing plant. It went on the truck but never arrived at my new home. I have emailed several times and had only one response which was to question if it had actually been part of the move, when I confirmed it had I had no other response. It may seem a small thing but the plant had sentimental value and the fact the company has failed to even acknowledge my email let alone provide any form of apology is appalling. Would I recommend them? They were professional but I don't think they care as much about you as a customer and your belongings as they lead you to believe. For that reason, I would find it hard to use them again.

From the moment that I contacted F Smith & Son I felt in safe hands. I initially spoke with Steve who was friendly but, perhaps, more importantly, assured and professional. We were able to quickly schedule a time when he would visit and assess what would be required to move my furniture from my flat to my home. Very quickly thereafter I received a very competitive quote, which I was more than happy to accept. On the day of the move I was immediately put at ease by the knowledgeable team of three removers. The furniture was carefully taken out of the flat, down two flights of stairs, with the minimum of fuss. In no time all was packed up and we were ready to move. When we got to the house the team were extremely polite and helpful, taking each item to each particular room as requested. Part of the removal included the dismantling and reassembly of beds, which was done quickly and in a more than competent manner. The whole process was carried out in accordance with the agreed schedule for the sum quoted. What can often be an extremely stressful occasion was made pleasant and hassle free by all at F Smith & Son. Should the need arise, I will certainly be using F Smith & son again, and recommending them to all my friends.

I recently used F Smith & Son for our move from London to Bath. It is the second time they have moved us, and in between we’ve used their storage facilities. They are well priced, easy to communicate with and when it comes to the movers, they are brilliant - very considerate, hard working people.

I moved over 500 miles from England to a Scottish Island which took 3 days in total (loading, Tachograph driving restrictions, unloading) also involved a ferry crossing, I was on my own moving to somewhere I knew no one as you can imagine I was more than a little nervous but from the very start the staff at F.Smith & Son removal company put me at ease which is why I chose them the foreman (Ian) even came to the house at the weekend to introduce himself to put my mind at ease and to give me the opportunity to ask any questions I may have. I have to say with great pleasure absolutely nothing went wrong it could not have gone any smoother I had absolutely nothing to worry about they dealt with everything and with a very professional manner - I cannot recommend this company highly enough

The packing and removal to storage was efficient and the staff very pleasant. The return of my goods was also efficient and the staff very patient and helpful. I would recommend the Company to another person about to move.

We had a comparatively small move, literally 2 streets away and not a huge amount of stuff (lots of boxes and a few heavy items). Smiths provided us with a very detailed well tailored quote which aimed to keep it economical for us to use a removal service rather than a man and a van. Obviously it would have been a bit cheaper to hire a man and a van, but with a tight completion to do we wanted a professional outfit who we could rely on. On the day the service was fantastic. The two removers were punctual and professional. They worked really hard and were really friendly and fun to chat with which really helped take the stress off the day. I'm really glad we went with Smiths and will recommend them in the future.

After a horrible few months dealing with conveyance solicitors we were both at our limit with the stress we could handle. F Smith and Son in no way added to it. In fact it was a relief to deal with someone involved in the moving process who actually were professionals. An excellent Company, with nothing too much trouble and a very personal as well as professional service, from the management, operatives and office staff. I had packers in for 2 days beforehand and on the day 3 staff were careful and swift in loading and unloading to where I wanted things. They also removed a number of items of furniture separately to my daughter's home in Farnham. I would highly recommend F Smith & Sons.

From Steve coming out to estimate for a move from South Croydon to the Isle of Wight, the office with their help on booking the changing provisional moving dates, to the actual move which took three days, the service received was first class. First day packing up smaller items, second day packing up the larger items, loading the van and transporting down, and third day unloading and placing items in required positions - the service given by this family run firm was friendly, polite and extremely professional - as said, first class. The men involved in the packing were extremely quick and efficient and Ian and Martin were a joy to have working for us in what can be a stressful time. This is a firm that is not only recommended for their work but also for a price that was very fair and reasonable.

This company was fantastic. I liked Steve, who came to estimate. He was professional and I had confidence that they would do a good job. Our move took three days. They packed a huge truck on day 1 which disappeared until day 3 and another huge truck took and delivered to the new house on day 2, the day of completion. The main two guys, Adrian and Lee were great. This firm is an established well-oiled machine who know what they are doing whilst retaining the family business approach. I would recommend them.

Smiths came recommended by friends. Our experience backs up the recommendations. All contacts with directors, office staff, and removal staff was professional and pleasant. Our constantly changing completion date was dealt with without fuss. Packing on Saturday was done very methodically and efficiently. On Monday our possessions were moved into a huge van and stored expertly by a team of four professionals with about 100 years removal experience between them. On Tuesday the van arrived in good time. Local experience help was hired. A team of two unloaded the van and put the goods on the lift. Another team of two emptied the lift and moved our stuff into our new flat. By about 1pm we were shaking hands with everything moved in. No breakages. No losses.

From first to last the service provided has been excellent. The team packed our stuff very quickly to enable us plenty of time to travel to Bury St Edmunds on 26th,and unpacked equally as efficiently this end. Thanks to them and to Lorraine in the office who was always helpful especially considering we were novices to the whole procedure.

Smiths came recommended by to friends. Changes to our completion date were coped with without a problem. Packing, collection and delivery were done professionally. Hope we never move again, but if we did we would use Smiths.

I was very impressed with the service we received from start to finish. The home visit for the quote was very thorough and I felt assured from that point that our possessions would be in safe hands. On moving day the team were on time and kept to time throughout the move although there was never any sense of us being rushed or that any request we made for things to be done in a particular way was too much for them. They were helpful, friendly, courteous and very careful with our possessions. The job was not complete until they checked with us that they had done all that they could and that we were satisfied. I would definitely recommend them.

As our title suggests we were more than happy with the service from F Smith & Son. From start to finish they were a pleasure to deal with and certainly reduced any of the usual moving-day stresses. The management team were very efficient and professional when arranging our quotation and booking our removals slot. We received honest advice and a competative quote. On arrival, Barry, Martin and Ian immediately put me at ease. They worked with speed and their experience & professionalism showed all the way through the move. We felt they went above and beyond our expectations and our expectations were high because our friend who recommended you, is very particular! Having been quite stressed preparing for the move we can honestly say we both enjoyed the move. We would definitely have no issues recommending them.

After a shaky start (confusion over the number of crew and start times, exacerbated by poor communication) we received an excellent service - quick and efficient packing and a seamless removal 2 days later at a reasonable price. Very nice packing & removal crew.

A friend of mine recently moved and recommended F Smith & Son when we had to find a bigger place. They came around and did a very professional estimate -- it was clear they were clued up. They beat the three other vendors price, too. My wife and I have accrued a load of stuff along the years, and they packed it solid in five hours. When it was time to move, they handled that with just as much professionalism and speed. They did things they did not have to do. They went out of their way to make our move as comfortable as possible. No way these guys can be beaten. If you try hard, you very well may match them. But, only just. I hope I never have to move again. If I do, it will be F Smith & Son doing to for me. They display patience and understand the pressure you go through when you are a link in a chain.
