From the off he was so helpful, talking through the issues, the set up of the plumbing we have and potential solutions. So helpful that he called me back a few times with some additional thoughts and advice. When they came to do the work it was done swiftly, fully explained and in good humour too! We’ve had no further issues and have even had a callback from Dean to check if all was ok. Really impressed throughout. Top marks!

I endorse all the praise given in previous reviews. I would stress the attitude of Dean and his team: wholehearted commitment to doing what is required and what the customer wants. And he goes above and beyond. His attitude is in marked contrast to other traders we have engaged with over a complex project lasting several years.

I called Dean initially to inspect drainage pipelines to try and determine rodent entry points and improve drainage access. Dean's Team spent a lot of time on the first visit to map out the whole drainage system on a house that had many drainage modifications over the years. They did a very diligent survey and came up with an action plan for the work that needed to be done. They gave a detailed estimate, and within days the work was carried out. This work included fitting a new manhole, installing rat traps, and executing an underground pipe sheath repair. Throughout this whole process, the level of communication and organisation was exceptional. Lots of telephone calls were used to keep the work moving and improve decision-making. They understand about rodent entry points - if you have this problem, you will not find a more competent team to find the right solutions. Dean and his Team are professional and excellent communicators - exactly what you need when you have a rodent/drainage problem. I cannot recommend them highly enough - they are simply the best drainage company I have ever dealt with. Got a drainage problem - call Dean - he will fix it.

Had a terrible experience with a previous supplier. They used fear, poor communication and pressured me to pay a hefty deposit for a £3,000 job. I decided that I couldn't trust them and wanted to use another provider. I fought to get my deposit back, which I eventually did. Dean was recommended through another trusted supplier, and I gave him a call. His team came and were very thorough and polite and professional. They did not pressure me at any time. He quoted around £450 for the same job and it was done with a minimum of fuss and no headaches within a week or so. Overall, really satisfied with Firstbase Drainage Services. Great communication, no messing about, great service, great prices. Would definitely highly recommend!

We had Dean and his team review our drains after moving into a new property and discovering some damp issues. After a thorough investigation and surveying the drains, they found some problems. These were clearly explained with photos and videos. The work was carried out quickly by Deans friendly, professional team, and everything is now sorted. Fair pricing, clear communication, good people. Would definitely recommend.

I had a drain blockage but also some damp issues so called Dean and company based on a recommendation from a neighbour. Dean and his team were excellent. They spent the time to assess what the issue was with the damp. They quickly unblocked the drain and CCTV showed this was not the cause. Some potential causes have been identified and they have fixed the first to see if that is the cause. They only recommended things to be fixed if needed - other companies may have advised that everything be fixed unnecessarily. Very fair invoice for the work carried out, and will be using them for future issues.

We had a problem with a blocked drain, which Dean fixed very quickly. I have also used Dean to do much more extensive work on my property after we had had a problem with flooding. Dean and his colleagues have a great work ethic and a real can do attitude. We have had an unresolved vermin issue for a number of years but no other company has been able to come up with a lasting solution. Dean used cameras to identify several uncapped drains under our property and was able to seal them via the sewer pipes so there was no need to lift internal floors etc. There has been no vermin activity since the work was completed. I would recommend Dean and his company and would use them again for any other work that we might require in future.

Having called another well known company to sort out or drains problem and they failed, I was recommended to use Dean. His colleagues came within an hour and fixed the problem. I then had a blocked kitchen sink and again Dean sorted that out. The cost was very reasonable and Dean and his team were professional I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I emailed Dean at 17.30 on Sunday about a virtually blocked external kitchen drain. He replied just over 1.5 hours later, asking me to call, which I did the next morning. On the call, he advised me to try plunging the drain with a mop to see if that unblocked it. To my surprise (& gratitude!), it worked! Not only that, but he then called a bit later to see if I'd been successful with the mop. Definitely the extra mile!

We had a consistent problem with our drains which other (very expensive) drainage companies had failed to solve. Deano rolled up his sleeves and fixed it immediately. Deano is a genius with a massive knowledge of drains. His team were efficient, professional, and friendly. He was always reasonable on fees too. Very strongly recommend.

The plumber had already spoken to Dean, and as soon as they arrived, they got down to the job. They informed me what they were going to do, they cleared out the under-sink cupboard. And set to it. Twenty minutes later they were all done. I went into the kitchen, and they told me what they found and showed me the drainage. But best of all they placed everything back and were tidy. Dean explained that is may occur again if so call them back. It did slow up again, a fortnight later and Dean returned to pressure wash the pipe. Now a month later all is good. I highly recommend Firstbase Drainage Services for efficiency, tidy, polite, and no-nonsense approach. All at a reasonable price.

Firstbase Drainage Services attended to a drainage issue recently in my Victorian house. Dean advised what needed to be done. Emailed quote. Then arranged a date for carrying out the work. I called Dean to deal with what I thought to be a blocked downpipe on a three storey town house. He responded on the same day and dealt with the issues, more complicated than I thought, very effectively. He is a very pleasant guy, who listens, turns up speedily, and does the job well. Couldn't ask for more.

Digswell Tennis Club had a water leak between the water meter and the rising main that the water company wanted to repair and bill us for if we had not repaired the leak within five days. There was also a blocked drain. Dean from Firstbase Drainage Services quickly assessed the problems and had a team onsite within five working days. The leak was quickly found and repaired. The blocked drain was also investigated with a camera and the source of the blockage identified. I found Firstbase Drainage to be very professional, prompt and efficient. Their fee for dealing with two problems was very reasonable.

Deans firm showed up to see if our drains were the source of our rat problem they were very thorough and not only do we no longer have rats but they also realised we had a fatal flaw in our general waste pipe work which they have now put right for us Hugely appreciated

We contacted Dean of Firstbase for a quote for dealing with a problem we've had some time with a sewer which has blocked repeatedly, occasionally causing some flooding. He gave us a free Ccv survey to identify the likely problem and, once engaged, did the full job, involving three further visits within ten days of the initial visit, though it was not an urgent job. The sewer dates from Victorian times and so had some unusual, indeed in one case unique, design features which presented a series of unexpected challenges. Dean and his team were professional, persistent in their pursuit of solutions, very hard-working and good-natured to go with it, which always helps. We are very satisfied with the result and thought his charges were reasonable and transparent. We'd happily ask him back to do other work for us in future.

The drain at my house was blocked and a friend recommended I contact Dean. He called within minutes of my message to him on a Saturday and gave me some advice as he thought I may have been able to clear it myself to save money. This was very much appreciated but the problem was a little more complicated and my skills were no match for the blockage. I spoke to Dean again the same day and after checking his schedule he offered to come out the next morning. He arrived exactly at the time he said he would and within minutes had located the cause of the issue (this is why you use a professional!). Another few minutes later the blockage was cleared and he then set about cleaning up. He left the front of my house and driveway cleaner than it was when he arrived, and was extremely friendly and courteous throughout the whole job. I would have been happy to pay twice what he charged me to cure the headache the blockage had caused me - I couldn't use my washing machine or dishwasher (which meant I had to get a takeaway :-) ) - and I was thoroughly relieved once everything was back to normal. The service I recieved from Firstbase Drainage was exceptional and I would have no hesitation in using them again as well as recommending them to anyone in needs any draingage work done. I contacted Dean with a tricky drainage issue. He and his workmen dealt with the issue really well and quickly. During the job , they needed to try some new things to solve the problem and Dean made his workmen available for an extra day, to get the job done. The company were fast, friendly , good quality work and very tidy. I would not hesitate to contact them again or to recommend.
