Having been let down by my original electrician after the 1st fix on a renovation project, and then after reading Ian's reviews, I decided to give him a call. He looked over the job and was extremely pleasant and not pushy at all, he took time to explain everything and even had a contract with cooling off period after verbal agreement to proceed with works. Due to him not being able to see all the original electrical works or how correctly it had been done, Ian worked on a day rate. As I'd never worked with him before obviously I was initially slightly cautious but this was alleviated the first day he turned up on time and worked extremely hard throughout the day, barely stopping at all for a break. He worked at a very good speed whilst being conscientious and neat. Nothing was too much trouble and he was extremely knowledgeable (even pointing out important things other trades had missed with their work). He turned up when he said he would and did a great job, I'm a perfectionist and he did not disappoint! Not only did he provide certification of the work on the day he completed it, I was even able to pay by card on completion to save going to the bank - another small sign at how professional he is. Ian was left in the property multiple occasions with various expensive tools and was completely trustworthy, and to top it all off he's a good guy to be around and really helped me out of a tight spot. You get what you pay for, if you want a job done right, please give him a try

Ian was asked to fix a lighting problem in our kitchen and to quote for some exterior lighting at the front and rear of the house. His knowledge and explanation of the problem was very clear and a variety of options were spoken about. When we decided what we needed a date and time was arranged and the work was completed that day. It was very reassuring to know that the work was done by someone with such a knowledge of the subject in a very friendly way. I would definitely recommend Foreman Electrical to anyone looking for electrical work to be done.

I recommend Ian very highly. He is excellent at his job. He rewired our house and installed external lights. Prompt, knowledgeable, friendly, polite and helpful. Ian doesn't cut the corners and his work is always compliant with the latest regulations.

I had potentially a very big job to do at my mum's place, as the electrics hadn't been updated in 50 years. After speaking with Ian, he seemed to understand that I was looking for a high quality job, but also pragmatic cost effective solutions where possible. I wasn't disappointed, he did an excellent job, taking time to explain the problems, outline options, and then describe the reasons for his recommendations. I learnt a lot, and felt comfortable as I understood exactly what was going on. I was so impressed, that I also used him to check and improve the electrics at my place. We contacted Ian following a recommendation by a previous customer. Ian replaced our fuse board to provide RCBOs and a surge protection device and also replaced metal light switches and fittings with plastic ones throughout the house. he was very thorough and professional and pleasant to deal with. He explained what he was doing and kept us informed throughout. The work was done to schedule and to budget. I would use Ian again for any electrical work.

Ian arrived on time and provided a clear estimate. He came to carry out the work, again on time, which in my experience doesn't always happen. He finished the work to a high standard and also gave some very useful advice on energy use. Ian cleared up afterwards and took away all the packaging and rubbish. He was pleasant and polite and the bill matched the estimate. I was very pleased with the result and I shall certainly call on him again when the need arises. After using some very poor electricians in the past I am relieved to have found Ian.

Got Ian over to go through what needed to be done to install a new induction cooker, living in an older house it was quite a task, Ian couldn’t have been more helpful with his advice and the work he carried out in replacing an old fuse board and installing a new circuit, he was friendly professional and courteous at all times and made the process so much less painful then it otherwise could have been, he talked us through the process from beginning to end, who to talk to in upgrading the house fuse etc. and made what could have been a confusing issue into a simple one!! I won’t be using anyone else for future work, thanks Ian!

I am very happy to recommend Ian as an electrician. We needed an old outside security light replacing with an up-to-date LED one. The job was not straightforward because of our requirement to be able to operate the light with a switch as well as with the movement detector. Ian responded promptly to my initial enquiry, he listened carefully to our requirements, he gave us a clear quotation for the work, he was friendly and professional - and he did a great job!

Ian re-wired our house which we bought and were renovating back in 2017 and he has looked after our electrical needs since then. At the time, he was reassuringly more knowledgeable than the earlier electrician and carried out the job and all subsequent jobs to a high standard and is very reliable, positive and friendly. I bought a 3-bed house with 2 reception rooms. The house required a complete overhaul, including the redesign and overhaul of its electrics. I invited quotes from several of Which? I purchased some lights from a reputable major high street retailer who offered to fit them for me. When they came to do the work it was clear that it was beyond their capability and they left having removed the old lights without being able to connect the new ones. I called Ian out to fix the problem. Without any fuss he installed the new lights quickly and efficiently. What the retailers electrician had said was a difficult job turned out to be pretty routine for Ian. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone on the lookout for a good electrician.

Ian was very communicative and interested whilst locating the fault in the bathroom lighting. He improved my understanding by updating me regarding the technical changes over time with bulbs. He helpfully tested a separate double socket which was old but didn't require replacement currently. He explained about the process for Which? Trusted Traders including training and qualifications. He also clarified that he was qualified to complete earthed gas and water bonding which I had been told was now necessary. He also recommended updating the old electrical switching board. I have no hesitation in recommending him and look forward to seeing him again to complete the next planned works

I asked Ian to change 2 old fluorescent tube fittings in the kitchen and loft. This was done quickly and efficiently. He is friendly, polite and was helpful with my other queries, I would have no hesitation using him again.

Ian has carried out electrical work for me for some 5 years now. Recently he replaced my bathroom fan but during Covid he carried out a complete re-wiring of my house just before I moved in, so complying fully with all Covid regulations. He has always worked to the highest standards, polite and friendly, and, provided detailed quotes in advance of any work. Suffice to say that I would highly recommend his work

He was very professional, punctual, arrived on time. He was very efficient and clean and tidied up his work and left no mess. The work went very smoothly and no complications with the work. Changed 3 smoke alarms and 3 dimmable switches. I would recommend to anyone and would hire again if any work comes up in the future. Also very good with pets.

The service provided by Ian was efficient, speedy and professional. We had to re-fit a number of halogen lights with LED lights along with other replacement lights and smoke detectors. Ian skilfully undertook the job in the course of a couple of visits, and ensured that any debris, mess, etc. was cleaned up following completion of the job.
