Firstly, I'll show my hand! I spent my 40-year career with British Gas, served a six-year apprenticeship, qualified as a service engineer, progressed through service management, ending my career as a regional general manager in 1994. Having been retired 26 years, I'm too out of touch to do my own servicing and repairs or to climb around in lofts, but I'm rather fussy as to who I rely on for service and repairs. I used to use a former BG service engineer who I knew and trusted but he retired recently, so I asked him for a recommendation. Without hesitation, he recommended Gas Appliance Solutions Ltd, established by two former BG engineers. I asked them to carry out a service on my Worcester Bosch Greenstar boiler and to replace a faulty diverter valve. Craig arranged for the work to be done promptly, John serviced the boiler, and Jack came on another day to change the diverter valve. Craig was very helpful on the phone and the engineers were polite, friendly, competent and smartly dressed - great ambassadors for the company. They turned up at the appointed time, asked if they should wear masks before entering, wore disposable overshoes and made no mess at all. The price was very competitive and was notified in advance. Five stars in every respect! For the avoidance of doubt, I have no connection with this or any other company and until two weeks ago, had never heard of them. I'd have to hesitation in recommending them to friends and family.
