I contacted Gas safe in an emergency as my elderly mothers boiler was not working. They answered the phone promptly and agreed to call within a couple of hours. At the visit the engineer was thorough in locating the problem and clearly explained the situation. He arranged for a quote to be sent to me that evening and I was contacted the next morning to arrange to come and fit the new part that afternoon. The problem was solved efficiently and quickly and advice given regarding the vulnerable situation if a similar situation should arise

All gas was turned off on an annual gas safe inspection without providing explanation, solution or follow up appointment until numerous chasing the week after. Left the house without hot water or heating for a full week and enormous headache to all occupants. They won’t give out engineer’s contact so it was a lot of information relying from the office that is super unclear. Incredibly frustrating when you are out of hot water and heating and they simply do not feel the need to get that fixed urgently. Offered to pay extra call out fee still wouldn’t do it. Also insist on their normal no refund policy if I found someone else who would actually care and treat the matter urgently. Insist on ground floor access to fix a pipe knowing we couldn’t get access due to incorporating neighbour when another engineer easily fixed it by putting his arm out of the window! Also failed to detect a leak in the boiler which is picked up by the new engineer. Completely irresponsible and inflexible. Poor communication. Overall nightmare to deal with. So regret instructing them at the first place.

Dear Miss Ngai, thank you for reviewing our company. Our company strives to be the best, most efficient, and the standout heating company in our area, we do however understand that our work is time constrained, and very often urgent, but occasionally there are reasons beyond our control why we cannot complete works when requested, for instance when parts are unavailable. We carried out a landlord gas safety inspection for you, and on this occasion the boiler was deemed unsafe and disconnected on Friday 18/6/21. A gas inspection is crucial to check if an appliance is safe to use, on this occasion it was not, we are sorry that this may have caused you some set-back, but the priority is leaving a property with safe appliances, connected, or disconnected. The certificate and quote for repairs was sent on the same day. You wanted us to attend on the Saturday 19/6 when your bailiffs were due to evict the tenant, unfortunately parts were not available until 22/6. For health and safety our engineer requested access to the ground floor flat for a ladder to replace a part of the flue outside. A no quibble refund for further works was performed when you had made other arrangements. I do hope others could look at our other reviews across this and many other platforms for a reasonable view of our company, our culture, and ethics. Thank you.

Decommissioning of gas supply pipe of gas cooker for replacement electric cooker

The engineer was professional, polite and responsive to my concerns about gas safety in the closing down of the gas supply pipe to the gas cooker, which was to be replaced with an electric cooker. Even though the position of the gas supply pipe was partly enclosed within a kitchen cupboard to disconnect the gas pipe and cap it and he had to saw through the side of the kitchen cupboard to access it, he did this in a rigorous way and without complaint. I had wanted to see what he had done afterwards as I was concerned about gas safety and he showed me and reassured me that it was secure and quite safe. At all times he was professional and friendly and you knew he knew what he was doing. He cleaned up afterwards and left the area tidy. Thank you very much.

Gas Safe fitted a new boiler a couple of years ago. They were very helpful recommending their view of the best brand. The boiler changeover was completed efficiently and with no snags. They have serviced the boiler annually (necessary to maintain 10 year warranty) ever since. All engineers have been polite and efficient. I receive an annual reminder of when the service is due. Payment used to be by invoice in arrears. They now request payment upfront. They accept payment by card over the phone. Booking an appointment and paying at the same time for the annual service means everything is done with one contact which is more efficient on both sides.

My boiler broke. This is not good, really not good. I've used Gas Safe before so called them first and half expected to have to call others. But instead, they took £100 payment (I've had worse) and were in my house a little over four hours later. They fixed the issue, chatted to me about future options and left the place tidy. Fantastic.

Your engineer arrived on time and did a thorough job flushing out the system. He also recommended that I need to replace the pump as it doesn't seem to be very efficient. My only criticism is that after your engineer left I noticed that the radiators were very hot. Upon investigation I noticed that he had left the boiler thermostat set at maximum which I then turned down to the original setting.

Our boiler sprang a leak on Wednesday and the engineer attended about 90 mins after we called them. Parts needed and were ordered and fitted today, Friday. Friendly engineer/service and all for what I think is a reasonable cost. Cannot fault them.

The time-clock unit was left functioning to give the pre-set programmes as needed. The boiler warranty document was signed to ensure the manufacturer's guarantee remained in place. The kitchen area local to the boiler was left in a clean and tidy state.

Remove Water tank & connect Bathroom to the mains water supply

Generally very happy with the service from Gas Safe Heating, from getting a on site quote and dealing with reception. The engineer arrived on time and completed the job efficiently. However, the loft was left a little dirty with mud in places (from the water tank) and left over pipework. There were splatters of mud on the wall in the hallway and staircase, which i ended up cleaning. Apart from this i would still recommend them.

I have used Gas Safe Heating and Plumbing for many years, as my Estate Agents first recommended them when I needed a Boiler service and a Gas Safety certificate for my flat. I got to know two of their engineers, who came back yearly; I really liked their friendly and professional manner. They were always punctual, very pleasant and went out of their way to provide a thoroughly good service. Although I missed seeing either of them this year, their young colleague was equally friendly, professional and on time! I highly recommend them.

We recently used Gas Safe for the 2nd time. Last year they extended a gas pipe into our kitchen and fitted our new gas range cooker. This year we have used them for our boiler service and asked them to quote for a few other issues in the house. They have always arrived exactly when they said they would and we have never had any problems with the work completed. The engineer who came out recently was extremely friendly and also very honest when taking a look at a few other problems we had. We would not hesitate to use again or recommend. Extremely reliable.

Booked this company to disconnect gas cooker and cap off supply after reading reviews posted on here. They came as arranged and completed the job. 10 minutes max. Cost an eye-watering £100. My husband and I are 70 ish and asked if he could help move it out of kitchen. He said he couldn’t and had a bad back. He was in his 20s I guess. Fortunately we had a plasterer in the house at the same time and he heard this and offered to help my husband. It was done relatively easily with two of them. Now I know it wasn’t part of the job but it wasn’t very impressive or kind. Need another plumbing job to put in a washing machine but won’t be asking them. On the other hand, we certainly would use the plasterer again!

We have looked into this job and spoken to the Engineer (David), who is in fact in his mid forties and does suffer with a painful lower back! The work requested by yourselves to disconnect a cooker was carried out with due diligence in a professional manner. The gas supply was tested on completion and a visual inspection of connected gas appliances including the boiler in an outside cupboard was also carried out. This work could not have been completed in ten minutes as you stated. David has mentioned you asked for his help, and that he gave you a valid reason why he could not lift the appliance through the house and outside, we're sorry that this was not a sufficient response, or the response that you would have liked, but this engineer is on lighter duties because of a bad back, and therefor we would be 100% behind his decision to say "no". We do not offer a cooker removal service as these are two man jobs, and for the most part our engineers work alone. The price quoted to yourselves and agreed by yourselves was fixed and is our minimum charge. As we believe there was no conversation where you were dissatisfied on the day, we would be satisfied that you as a customer were also satisfied with our service. We are glad that prior to booking you read our previous reviews, and as you will note, yours is one poor review in many 4/5* reviews. Thank you for your custom.

He was extremely efficient and very helpful . I have been using this company for the last 3/4 years and will be certainly be using them again. We have had to use them on two occasions recently and on both occasions they responded promptly and efficiently. They provided reasonable estimates for the work and kept to them. The second problem was potentially serious as it involved a significant leak in a mains water stop-cock. They were very helpful in responding and dealing with the problem the same day.

After having my ancient boiler replaced last year for a new Valiant one by Gas Safe (recommended by a friend who's used them many times) - a clean, efficient and professional install with the two man team happy and willing to work out any issues they came across to my benefit rather than theirs - my first annual service was now due. Arriving in the allotted time (always a bonus!), the service was carried out by a friendly member of the team who did what he needed to do but without rushing it and leaving me with the feeling he needed to be elsewhere very quickly. An annual service is a necessary evil but with Gas Safe, at least I know the job's done quickly and professionally.

I had a new boiler fitted for my mother in law. The existing central heating system also needed a power flush due to build up of sludge over a number of years. New boiler kept showing faults on running after installation. David and the team made a number of followup visits and were always polite and efficient. Boiler manufacturer also attended. Subsequently transpired that previous wiring was faulty, David and Matt rewired the system (not something they were originally asked to do when the boiler was replaced) ensuring that they minimised the impact of the work on the elderly resident. They also managed to rewire the system without having to lift existing flooring.

We have used Gas Safe Heating & Plumbing to help remedy a few problems in our new home that were inherited with the house. In one instance we were left without heating with a new born baby in the house and Gas Safe not only made time for us straight away but fixed the problem in an efficient and cost-effective manner. In the second instance, we needed some installation work completed and once again the guys demonstrated they were efficient, knowledgable, friendly and good value. We would not hesitate to use Gas Safe again or to recommend them to our friends and family.

The boiler was serviced & I got the Gas Safety Certificate I required. Accidently the workman dropped a sharp knife down the wall - scratching it & making a slight indentation. He also swept the dust from the work behind my work surface whilst I was there.
