We’re absolutely delighted with our heat pump installation by Good Energy. From the surveyor's visit to the final handover, the whole team was friendly, efficient and helpful. Communication was excellent and they were flexible when we requested changes. The installation took 8 days (less than planned); the team was as unobtrusive as it's possible to be in such circumstances and did a good job of cleaning up. The fitting team included both experienced installers and trainees, and it was great to see a diverse team at work, with a female surveyor and one female installer. The handover was thorough, with clear instructions and helpful follow-up emails. The system is monitored remotely, and we were quickly alerted to and guided through any teething issues. The heat pump itself is incredibly quiet - we now realise how noisy our gas boiler was - and has kept our home consistently warm, dry, and supplied with instant hot water, even during cold spells. We wholeheartedly recommend Good Energy.

The engineer came to perform the annual service on my heat pump at the notified time (8am) but sat in his van for a few minutes as ".......I didn't want to disturb you too early." He explained what he was going to do and answered all my questions. Throughout the service he continued to explain what he was doing and offered hints and tips on the best way to gain the maximum benefit from the heat pump. Finally, he did a thorough check on everything, took several readings and assured me that everything was performing 100%. He was courteous throughout and frankly it was a very pleasant and informative experience. I would have no problems at all in recommending Good Energy for this service.

Good Energy completed a heat pump installation at our house. We are extremely happy with the installation and that we now have a much lower carbon footprint at the property, especially in conjunction with the solar panels Good Energy also installed a year prior. The engineers and electrician were extremely professional, polite, and flexible throughout the entire process, and I could not recommend them highly enough!

Good Energy provide our “green” energy and after getting other quotes, we settled on them to instal the air source heat pump which included replacing four radiators. All our pre-instal exchanges with the GE were helpful, efficient and clear. The Installation Team were an exceptional group of engineers who showed great skill in the process. The laying of plastic on carpets where they were working demonstrated respect for our property and identified their attention to the smallest detail of the job. We were staggered by the amount of equipment that was delivered and found it fascinating how it all found a place in and around our home. Clearly, the Team were experts at their job with excellent communication skills. The installation was completed on time, the heat pump works well and the Team left our home neat and tidy.

I would highly recommend the Good Energy team dealing with the Air Source Heat Pump system. The initial survey was carried out carefully and we were very reassured by the knowledge of the guy doing this, he was extremely thorough and not rushed to get away. The next stages of preparing a plan and application were again done very well with lots of communication and whenever I needed questions answered these were done quickly and clearly. The installation team were all brilliant, very skilled, very polite and done there best to look after our home and keep it running during the upheaval of all the work needing to be completed. It was great to see a team really enjoying their work and supporting each other to achieve a great final outcome. It is early days for knowing the full benefit of this new system for us, but so far I couldn't be more pleased, a lovely warm house and water hotter than it used to be with our gas boiler, I am very happy with the outcome.

Work executed in a professional manner

Good Energy took care to give us the best package to suit our requirements and executed the work in a professional manner. At the design stage, we were able to change the majority of our upgraded radiators to a more pleasing design (extra cost) and source locally a different upright one to be installed in the kitchen where a normal one would not have fitted. The complete upgrade necessary for our original micro-bore pipework was a major undertaking and added significantly to the final cost and added to the time taken. As installation took place over 11 working days at a very cold time of year, we were provided with portable electric fan heaters. We had all but two days with hot water. A warmer time of year would be best! The Good Energy installers were polite and efficient and did their best to ensure a smooth transition. Any problems were dealt with quickly. We were also able to contact head office if necessary. We have now had our new system for nearly two weeks and are pleased with the overall warmth throughout the whole house. The app means we can control the heating easily both at home or away. Meanwhile, the heat pump runs quietly in the garden.

Let down by survey and poor communication

Started the heat pump process in early July, final handover on 18th December. The 2 installers were amazing - efficient, tidy and hard-working. Their communication with us was excellent but I felt they were a person short on the job. Unfortunately, the survey was not thorough enough and so several issues eg. with a concrete floor, digital shower and inadequate space for the cylinder were not picked up. This meant: - a great deal of reading between the lines on my part and GE producing four redesigns as they kept only dealing with part of our requirements (we very nearly didn’t proceed at the end of September when they were asking us to completely pull apart our airing cupboard so the cylinder n their design would fit into a space that their surveyor had seen and measured or to take responsibility if it didn’t fit! - a much less effective shower - issues for the onsite team. The final straw was a blanket email to all customers in Essex on 21 January withdrawing from the provision of a promised 10 year service warranty as GE would no longer cover our area. It wasn’t clear that the nominated provider would honour the free cover and the first two free annual services which caused me much anxiety; this took 3 emails from me to clarify. I provided constructive feedback to the GE customer services team, which they had stated in September they would value, but I don’t believe they have taken my concerns into account in reviewing our experience but rather brushed it off hence this review.

GE - heat pump installation completed on 18th December 2024 Great communication throughout the process e.g. Teams meeting on plan, regular e-mails and prompt responses to questions. What seemed to be a tricky job for another provider was sorted by GE - soon pipes were routed, radiators replaced and added, a water cylinder installed and all electrical and plumbing components. The gas boiler was taken out at the end of the job - so we had heating and water until the last day. The electricians and plumbers were great - happy to discuss issues and changes e.g. route of cable. Though the pipe joints were checked when the system was started - we got a leak from a failed joint a few days later - so GE sent someone to fix this within hours. We like the system - the heating is on target, the water is hot when we need it and the heat pump in the garden is extremely quiet.
