Flat tyre repair
Had a flat tyre and although I could remove the wheel nuts the wheel was frozen to the steel on the axle. I was not at home so couldn’t sort it myself especially as I was limited as to what I could do due to pending surgery. The Green Flag app was easy to use and call was received from the mechanic within 15 minutes of asking for help. I was kept appraised of arrival time and the job was sorted within 45 minutes. Very professional and friendly service. Highly recommend these guys.

Great work and fast
Arrived quicker then expected and before the expected time. First time having using my breakdown cover with my insurance and glad I chose yourselves. Both technician and Emma who I spoke with on the phone were very helpful and friendly and car was taken to a garage. I called at 6:11 and technician arrived by 6:47 so was very quick thankyou very much definitely feel reassured if I have to call you again!

Green Flag breakdown cover
The battery died on my car, I wasn't sat inside but my car locked down, with my house keys and purse locked inside. I rung Green Flag, Rhys the technician turned up within half hour, he was amazing. He was very reassuring and resourceful, although he was unable to unlock the door with his tools he was able to hook out my house keys, he then took me home to get my spare car key which had the barrel to bypass central locking. Back at the car, the door open, jump leads on and I was on my way to the garage within an hour. Green flag were also excellent whilst on the phone, very helpful, very positive and reassuring. What I thought would be a total nightmare was dealt with so promptly and professionally.

Bad communication but good recovery person
The communication is not great, due to someone on the phone assuming that because I had broken down in an industrial estate meant I was inside meant me, my 2 year old and my 3 month old baby were left in the cold, for 3 hours whilst waiting for recovery. I had to ring multiple times to chase this up, it wasn’t until I called them again that someone else realised that they had put down that I was in a house rather than out in the cold. The person who came to recover my car was great, and did call me to let me know when he was 20 minutes away. Had the correct details been taken in the first place and we were not left waiting we would have had a better experience unfortunately this was not the case.

I had a flat tyre on my way to visit relatives in Tarleton. It was a special occasion as it was a combined eightieth birthday for my mum and aunt. I rang Green Flag and they arrived quickly. Wayne was friendly and took me to Halfords to get my tyre replaced. I am very grateful to Wayne for helping me. It was really appreciated. I missed the party, but at least my car is running smoothly now.

Whilst on holiday on the Isle of Wight my car started to make an awful screeching noise, this got worse and I realised it wasn’t safe to drive as I was pretty sure it was metal on metal which was probably the brakes. I used the Green Flag app to contact them at approximately 9 am. by 11.15 my car was on the way to a garage. It was a stressful time as we were due to leave the Island 2 days later. However the garage was excellent, contacted me to say what needed doing and how much it would cost and assured me it would be ready later that day. It was. Excellent service from Green Flag and Bartlett's Garage.

I contacted Green Flag Recovery on Monday 7th October 2024 as my vehicle would not start. It had developed a complete power loss. The operator at Green Flag was very helpful and empathised with my situation. With the use of the app. on my mobile phone I could see how long the technician was away from me. He arrived twenty minutes before the estimated time. The technician (Robert) asked me what I knew about the vehicle's fault, then used a jumper booster to start the engine. I was delighted with his efforts and he was polite throughout the duration of his time with me. I can only say that my whole experience with Green Flag was one of satisfaction would definitely recommend Green Flag to friends and others.

They did a diagnostics, they tried to fix it but couldn’t. I was then on a hooked up recovery trailer and lifted home
@Michael was great at his job, however there was another wait for me as his controller was asking me to pay for the mileage home of £98 or wait even longer for parts to arrive after already waiting 3hrs on my own. Not @Michaels fault it was a lack of communication between Green Flag and the traders policy. @Michael gets a 10 out of 10 from me.

Let’s hope you never need to use them
I have paid for your services for 8 years and the one time I needed you, I was asked “have you tried googling for a breakdown service”. I was left at a motorway services with a space saver wheel on the car. Your technician told me “DO NOT drive that wheel on the motorway” but then your ‘safety team’ deemed it safe to drive up to 300 miles on the motorway - which goes against your technician’s/ vehicle manufacturer/ and the tyre manufacturers instructions. I was left to drive 200 miles home on the motorway, not exceeding 50mph and every 25 miles I had to tighten the wheel bolts. This was in the top three worst experiences of my life.

Speedy rescue
I called Green Flag around 9 pm yesterday because my clutch had failed while I was parking and I was not in a very good place. They were so helpful and reassuring and arrived within 45 minutes. They took me to the local garage I specified quickly and efficiently. I have spoken to the garage now and hopefully they will repair my car. Due to the extreme weather, rain, wet, dark, misty my beak down was at the most inconvenient time and place but managed to park at a safe place. At this time my wife continued her journey by bus and I made contact to green line through the tel number on my insurance details. Not sure but it was an hour I think when Sam arrived. Moving vehicle very slowly to a more safe and convenient place to deal with the fault. Didn't take long to do. Once finished I offered Sam to buy him coffee but he declined saying that there was another job coming through for him to attend. VERY HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE.

Broke down with caravan in tow on the A35. Used the Green Flag App which picked up location from the GPS signal. A few answers about circumstances and App confirmed rescue in progress. App also traced progress of local garage to completion (which was a systems reset on the car control modules, but also a recovery to home as the mechanic thought it too risky to drive with a caravan and heavy traffic in case the reset didn't work). The garage used (Slades at Chard) absolutely brilliant. The process was seamless and took a lot of stress out of the situation.

We picked up our car from the airport after a short break away, and found all the warning lights on and engine barely running. Contacted Green Flag through their app which took 5 minutes, they called me back within another 5 minutes and the recovery engineer was with us in a total of 30 minutes. Around noon on pre-Bank Holiday Saturday both nearside tyres burst in a pothole. By the time that it became evident that something was amiss the car was in a narrow stretch of country road. I raised and completed the Green Flag AP questionnaire on my ‘phone and promptly received a call to clarify details. Within 2 hours a transporter arrived with a competent and helpful driver who managed to manoeuvre his vehicle, turn it round despite the very restricted lane and load my car up in some 20 minutes. With my agreement the car was taken to the local Green Flag agency where it was repaired and ready for collection by the evening of the next working day. I rate the foregoing as first rate customer service.

Greenflag Recovery Service was excellent throughout.
My details were processed by the Greenflag Call Centre swiftly, without any holding delays. I was continually kept updated by text regarding the recovery service ETA, and called directly by the recovery provider when he was on his way. His service was marvellous, carefully assessing how to recover my vehicle without causing any damage. He kept me fully informed on his processes and advised me how to assist with control of my vehicle as he winched it backwards (to pull my front wheel out of a manhole, where it had dropped through the cover). He thoroughly assessed & inspected my vehicle for damage before & after the recovery, confirming that it appeared to have no need for repairs and was safe to drive. He was polite, well spoken and very considerate, minimising any disturbance to the surrounding domestic households (the recovery was carried out between 01:00-01:45 in the morning). The 2 guys from Slades Garage in Chard were great in our hour of news. They assessed the car and towed it off the road to a say area as I was in a live lane. Poor and misleading communications and false promises!
Unfortunately this was the first time I needed to use mayday (green flag) and it wasn’t a nice experience. We were separated from our car and caravan after 13hrs of waiting for assistance and travelling home. The communications from green flag were misleading, inaccurate and unreliable, the text messages were also totally pointless as they never related to my breakdown, and the updates from staff kept telling me my vehicles were in Rotherham when all along they were in Leicester! They didn’t even know where they were. It took 4 days before I got my vehicles back. Not impressed.

Can't fault it!
After breaking down in my father's car on the M18/M1 slip road, with a trailer on, I was relieved to hear my dad had breakdown insurance with Green Flag. I called and spoke to lady who was calm and collected. She took all the details and said someone would be with me within the hour. They were actually there with me in much less than an hour and loaded the vehicle straight away to get off the motorway to safety. Once parked at a safe point, the recovery driver ascertained that the vehicle wasn't fixable at the tissue and father's authorisation to recover to my final destination from the control centre. 5 minutes later we were en- route back to Manchester where my dad had arranged for it to be fixed and for me to get back home. The driver of the recovery truck was courteous, friendly and professional throughout and in General, Green Flag made what was a really stressful event into a manageable one. Very pleased with the service I received and will ensure I renew my own breakdown insurance with Green Flag.

Very happy with the service provided by Greenflag. Our engine coolant pump stopped working. We were only 20 mins from the destination. We were advised the repair cannot be fixed roadside, but it was possible to get to the destination when engine was completely cool. It was late and I needed to feed three children (4yr old twins and 5mth baby) and get them to sleep. The following day we were picked up and taken home from Yorkshire to Warwick. Car is now waiting to be repaired in the garage. Thank you. You saved my family.

Motorway tyre blowout
After a recent caravan tyre blowout on the M5 at 4.30am it was a terrifying experience. I immediately called Green Flag and because of the circumstances, the jumped into action. The service was impeccable. I was contacted regularly, with updates on progress. The mechanic arrived in under an hour and got straight to work. It only took about 15 minutes to fit the spare wheel by a very knowledgeable man, not an easy task when your back is facing speeding traffic. Even the day after the incident Green Flag pertains called me to make sure I was OK, what a lovely personal touch. To summarise, I could not be happier, from the first phone call to getting back on the road was brilliant. Thank you Green Flag, to everyone involved in my rescue, I can't thank you all enough. Electrical Failure after 8 days in a field!
Struggled out of Glastonbury 24 late in the day. Stopped briefly but could start the engine and stop nearly became a lay-over. Remembering my Green Flag app I logged the call and tracked the Tecnician from his prior job to me. I had confirmed my location with What-three-words as I did not recognise my location. Green flag to the rescue
Green flag came out to help me when brakes failed on my car. The technician was great, loaded car onto trailer at my home and took it to my chosen garage. I felt most assured that the car had been taken care of and the clerk on phone and technician were both friendly and helpful. The time schedule was less than three hours as my car was at home and not stranded on road side. I would refer Green flag to any motorist what ever age. Also Green flag is affordable at £62 a year for the 'Rescue plus,' which can be found on their website.

Was on way for lunch on a Sunday with my wife and 98 year old disabled Mother in Law when I suffered a punctured tyre. Quick, efficient and helpful
I had a flat battery at an airport car park and contacted Green Flag via the app. Having been told I would be attended to within 1 hour, the technician arrived after 10 minutes. Absolute life saver!
We broke down on a hot Sunday afternoon with a load of frozen shopping and a child with Additional Needs in the car. Within an hour of calling Green Flag, the mechanic had found us, fixed the problem and got us back on the road. His friendly manner and competence were very much appreciated by us all. Amazing recovery service
My vehicle would not start in the morning, and having accessed the Greenflag App and subsequent chat to a telephone operator, received a text message saying a road side technician would be with me, just over an hour from the initial report. This was followed up by a telephone call from the actual technician confirming time. The technician arrived on time, was very friendly with excellent communication skills, and methodically diagnosed the likely issues, but at no time appeared to be rushing. He explained the results effectively, started the van to allow me to get the van repaired. He arranged a recovery truck with my safety at mind, again punctual for the estimated time. The North West Greenflag technician called Andy Milliton was top drawer, as was the contracted Recovery truck operator from Hough Green Garage Ltd named Dan. So refreshing to interact with competent technicians with great interpersonal skills. Could not recommend highly enough.

Green Flag - Where to start!
Car failed on Petrol station forecourt. Initial contact via the app was unsatisfactory (said I was too close to home so my cover was ineligible)..so a call to Green Flag was necessary. That sorted the distance issue and rescue was triggered. Four and a half hours later, no rescue and I had to chase up Green Flag and the rescue contractor (Keltek Motors). App updates were poor and Keltek gave me a (new) rescue time that was not kept to. In the end I was rescued by some lads in a scaffolding truck who got the car started. I never knew if Keltek finally arrived, nor did I care. I suspect the Green Flag contractor does not have enough units and is therefore unable to respond to a 'surge' in demand (even minor). All in all a pretty dismal experience, and although dearer it's back to the RAC or AA for me.

The call to Green Flag was answered quickly, the told me the name of the firm that would be arriving, I received a text message to confirm the time. Then a phone call when the driver was about 10 minutes away. Two different people arrived - as the first tow truck was too large to collect my vehicle from a car park. Both carried out tests to see if they could repair it. As this could not be done, the vehicle was towed to a garage for diagnostic tests and for the repair to be carried out. This was done the same afternoon.

Megane recovery
Had an issue with my car didn't want to drive any further, to minimise damage. I called Green Flag at about 17.15 on a bank holiday Monday. The way the call receiver treated my call was great, really professional, and helpful and found my whereabouts on a country lane on Anglesey within no time. I was told I was a priority as I was a woman on my own and that the technician would be with me in about an hour. I had a text message before I had finished talking to her with a essitmated time of arrival. Forty minutes later and the technician was there, where after explaining the problem put my car on the back of the truck and got myself and car safely home. He did this with such care and attention. I have been a member of Greee Flag for about 12 years and have always had great service. I would not hesitate to recommend this breakdown / recovery company.

Long delay yet again
9 text messages advising running late 1 phone call at 11.30 saying arrival 12.01 followed by text 20 seconds later advising 12.36. After 4.5 hour wait little van arrived to tell us about the problem we could already see for ourselves. He told us that as it was a bank holiday all garages closed so recovery to our home address was our only option. 4 hours later a recovery truck arrived. All the messages we received about delays showed that there was no coordination because the driver did not start his shift until 7pm. He had to drive to Newport, load his car on the truck, go to Bristol and drop his car off then come to us. Driver was a star but whoever was handling our call was a disaster. 11.5 hours last time we used Green Flag and 12.5 hours this time. No choice but to use them because of the size of our motor home. Obviously instructions to staff handling breakdowns is just keep advising delays of 1 to 1.5 hours. Dreadful service and constant miscommunication about rescue times.

I have used Green Flag for car and motorcycle breakdown cover several times over the last few decades, and I might have even have called them out once or twice. As I recall, everything seems to have worked satisfactorily using local breakdown services. The lower cost of the policy is a draw for sure, but they work at least as well as the other 2 main suppliers of breakdown services.

Bloody brilliant
My car broke down and after a horrible pause where I was stranded on as busy A road it finally let me move it at 4 miles per hour to a side road where I called Green Flag. The call centre was easy to navigate, the call centre staff were friendly, professional and helpful. Blown tyre
I had a blown tyre explained I was on busy road in a dangerous spot and needed a tow to a garage for new tyre. Green flag sent a van after two hours with no towing facilities and could do nothing except park behind my vehicle to protect it from oncoming traffic. A green flag van came out whilst the sub contractor just stood about waiting for the towing facility. Green flag had located a garage with the tyre size needed but did NOT inform me of that. Got towed to garage just in time to get new tyre fitted.

Recovery failure
On Friday 5th April the battery warning light came on and approximately 30 miles later we lost all power. The Green Flag technician managed to restart the car and escorted us approximately one mile to our hotel car park. The technician told us that we’d be able call Green Flag again if the problem recurred on our return journey. We were extremely disappointed and frustrated to find this was not the case. Consequently I had to join the RAC and pay for emergency assistance to recover us from the M40.

I can't recomend Green Flag enough. Both the lady in the call centre & recovery mechanic was *brilliant*, I felt safe & secure from the call centre, who helped me to find my location. The recovery truck arrived 1 hour early than expected (being an elderly lady in remote area) I was put on priority. I can't praise the recovery driver enough, he was pleasant, helpful & efficient. Fast response and super efficient
Had a flat battery (left the interior light on for a couple of days). I have a charger so went to open the bonnet but it wouldn't release. I was at home so I registered the rescue expecting a couple of hours wait. 20 minutes later, the technician arrived, fixed the bonnet problem, started the car up and was away. Amazingly fast and efficient service. So happy I swapped from the AA who I'd been with for years and were wanting to charge me over 3 x Green Flag's cost.

Stranded in Scarborough.
Whilst working in Scarborough, my vehicle suffered a breakdown, this was approximately 9.30am, I contacted Direct Line (Green Flag) via the number on the website, they verified my details etc. took my position and said that they would contact me. By 10.30 a technician had visited and assessed my vehicle and decided I needed recovery. By 12.30 I was on the back of a lorry heading for Essex. Driver was excellent, I was kept informed by phone and text, service could not have been better!

Whilst we had to wait two hours for the recovery vehicle to get to us, in the overall scheme of things that want too bad. The person who answered the call suggested a wait of 69 to 90 minutes. The App then showed 60 minutes but was revised after 60 minutes to two hours. It would have been helpful if the extra hour could have been notified before the initial estimated time expired. But again, overall OK

Abandoned by Green Flag
Whilst driving north on the A34 at 8.30pm a tyre on my caravan burst. Green Flag were notified. It took until 1.30pm (16 hours) the following day before the caravan was rescued. Throughout the night around 24 calls were made with Green Flag, it took 3 abortive attempts by Green Flag to arrange a suitable breakdown vehicle before a 4th truck was able to uplift the caravan. In the meantime my wife and I were left in a lay-by with limited food and drink. We had been advised by one of the breakdown company drivers not to leave the vehicle unattended. After an investigation lasting approximately 3 weeks Green Flag accepted their service "was below an acceptable standard". I would been able to tell them that at the time.
