Gregor Heating

Mixed feelings of Gregor Heating. Being a local company that is respected in renewables, i chose to use them to replace an existing Solar Diverter. Initial discussion with an engineer via phone, he suggested a product + I was interested in batteries too. I received a quote for both products. I decided to go with Solar Diverter only at this stage - their finance system couldn't cope with this, and all the way through and even to final payment, the invoice quoted 'battery+inverter' and not 'solar diverter' (even though price was correct for diverter). A request for 50% deposit arrived, stating "We hope you are pleased with the works you have had carried out. " and requesting a review. I hadn't had any work done at this stage, nor agreed a date for the work to be done! Eventually someone called me to book the installation for 2 months time (my request for this time). From then until electrician turned up 9.30am on the day, I wasn't sure whether they would attend i.e. no communication to follow up and check all was good for this day. Electrician was great, installed in good time and explained the product and how to use / monitor it. Product also is good and works well. So - great installation service and product, but invoice system & communication with me could have been much better, something which I'd hope would be better for a local company.

On moving house I had problems with the existing boiler and system (it was very old). Gregor helped keep the existing system going whilst I waited for a new system to be fitted. They were very flexible in fitting the new system by completing some pipework early so we could finish fitting our kitchen and then on full install working with the plumber fitting our new bathroom. Chris, Mark and Phil delivered a great service. This is a great business and you feel confident that the new system is professionally fitted and if there are any problems they will be sorted quickly.

Booked our yearly boiler/gas fire service through Gregor’s heat plan cover. Welcoming and supportive office staff scheduled the visit. A new engineer, Darren P, arrived promptly and conducted the inspection and service. Both friendly and professional he explained what he was doing and as he went along. He also ensured that I was happy with how the boiler was performing and understood the controls to make sure we got the best performance. He was tidy as he worked and ensured he completed the paperwork -and sent an email of all the details before he left. Another great experience from Gregor Heating.

Gregor heating has serviced and repaired our boiler for 18 years,they are always professional,knowledgeable and pleasant so they were our first go to when our old boiler was worn out.They gave us a survey,suggesting the best boiler for our needs at a very reasonable price,fitting was done on date agreed very professional and clean,explained the working and controls very well.The new modern boiler has made a huge difference to heating and hot water.Very pleased with both service and products,we have no problem recommending Gregor heating.

The engineer arrived promptly and installed the boiler very efficiently. The old boiler and waste was collected that morning. The electrician arrived later that day and the whole system went like clockwork. Additional work was found to be needed on an old rusty leaking radiator. This was inspected immediately, a quote given and the work expedited. All the staff were helpful. I am very pleased with the work done and would recommend this company.

Air source heat pump service: My initial phone call was dealt with in a friendly and very efficient manner, and a date was set for the work, together with costing. The engineer arrived on time, came across as knowledgeable, and again, had a friendly manner which instilled confidence. When the service was completed, he explained what he had done, and completed the service record. The invoice was sent the following day, and payment over the phone was processed quickly; the person dealing with me was very helpful. A very satisfactory experience from beginning to end.

Mark arrived promptly at 07:30 to fit our new gas boiler, he was neat, tidy and efficient, he was also very friendly and made sure from the start that he covered our carpets and kept our house clean and left it as he found it. The old boiler and rubbish was collected during the morning by Mark's colleagues and the electrician arrived to do his bits. When he had finished the installation Mark explained what he had done. I have great pleasure in recommending Gregor Heating and all their staff that we had contact with, especially Mark the engineer, I was very impressed with his work ethic and professional standard of work, a genuine ambassador for Gregor Heating.

Gregor Heating are clearly at the forefront of installation of renewable and smart technology. I was able to have sensible discussions about system design and the installation was professionally done. It was 5 months between quote acceptance and completion of the job. Supply issues outside of Gregor's control was a significant part of this but their busyness did also contribute to the delays.

Gregor designed and fitted my ASHP system in 2012. The system is still working as installed and Gregor have continued to provide annual maintenance servicing despite the system being 12 years old.

Just had an annual service of my 5-year-old Worcester Bosch boiler which was installed by Gregor Heating and serviced every year by Gregor Heating. The Engineer Phil Boobier arrived on time and was extremely pleasant, very professional and a good communicator. He described everything he did as he was doing it and then explained all the test results so I was left confident that the boiler was operating safely and efficiently after Phil had completed the annual service. Phil did not make any mess and left everything clean and tidy. Phil is an excellent ambassador for Gregor Heating and I will ask for Phil to service my boiler again next year.

Have used Gregor Heating for a few years now; very happy with the service. Jamie, my engineer this morning, rang before arriving, and arrived on time. Jamie was the engineer that attended last year; he is friendly, engaging, and very knowledgeable. He got on with the job, worked diligently and quickly. He was polite when asking for access, and explained the process and results in detail. We had a conversation about the likely life of my boiler and replacement options (it's getting on a bit) and he was very helpful with his suggestions and recommendations. He clearly know his business but was honest about his knowledge when it comes to new tech he has not worked on directly. I'd certainly trust his opinions. Booking appointments, changing them, and dealing with payments has also been easy and hassle free. I have had really good experiences with Gregor Heating and have no hesitation in recommending them.

We had a difficult installation, from oil to gas, which was completed in a very professional manner. Work over ran by a day, because of extensive electrical finds.

Fantastic company to deal with very transparent had quite a few quotes and this was the only company that bothered to come around and price the job once I accepted they had their site electrician to come round and look at any potential problems changed the specifications slightly and then once paid the deposit All went very straightforward and smoothly would highly recommend this company real pleasure to deal with and also very professional. I know the owner Steve Gregor from years ago been in the construction industry myself so well done Steve all your staff are a real asset to you.

The annual service and safety check of a boiler they installed some years ago was carried out to our complete satisfaction.

We have had an annual boiler service from Gregor for many years, usually in the latter part of the year. This time our unfortunate boiler servicing engineer called in sick and the appointment was rescheduled. It was in my diary for 9.30 am but unfortunately I had not realised that the service would be either between 8.30 am and 1.00 pm. I telephoned the main office who apologised for the misunderstanding and then later rang to say he would be much delayed owing to some difficulties. I had to leave to go to the dentist but my husband was at home when the engineer arrived - much earlier than by then expected - did the job, loved the boiler, said it was in very good condition, nice and simple rather than the more modern complicated boilers and all is well. Good firm, nice helpful engineers, helpful telephone staff.

This is the second year I have booked Gregor Heating to come to service my boiler and look at my underfloor heating manifolds. I have them thorough and very knowledgeable on both occasions.

This new boiler installation was preceded by a visit by an engineer to assess the underlying problem we had, incase a replacement wasn’t required and to thoroughly survey the requirements for the proposed work - down to the requirement for additional flue support brackets. The installation itself happened without any concerns. The engineer arrived well on time and ensured everything was working. The work was done tidily and waste was left neatly and collected by a specialist contractor just 2 days later.

Phil came to service my old boiler and he was very helpful and efficient. I was so impressed with his efficiency. He also gave me some helpful info about other issues with the system. Highly recommended.

The company that sold me my heat pump in 2015 went into administration and I have had repeated problems in getting it serviced regularly and reliably. Thank goodness I have now come across Gregor Heating and Plumbing. Their engineer was in today – polite, competent and informative. The work was carried out with a minimum of fuss and place left clean. I also got some useful advice. Thanks also to Which Trusted Trader, who pointed me to this company in the first place.
