The team did not excellent job moving us within our village in south Cambridgeshire. Everything was handled with care and efficiency making the move worry-free. The moving team were professional, friendly and always helpful, providing excellent customer service whilst doing so with good humour. Highly recommended!

This company is great. From the outset with Chris providing the costs and the planning, to the girls in the office and Graham and the team doing the packing and moving, everything went like clockwork. Nothing broken, nothing missing, heavy oak furniture managed with seeming ease. Everyone was so helpful and polite and the costs were very fair. I would recommend allowing the company to pack your things. Hadley and Ottaway made a stressful time less stressful and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

From the very first telephone contact we were impressed with the professionalism, friendliness, helpfulness and flexibility of both the office staff and the removal staff. The quotes were very easy to understand, unlike another company we had contacted. The price was excellent for a long distance move over three days. The two staff who moved us were so sincere, friendly and considerate. They were on time each day and packed and unloaded our possessions with care. Follow up communication with the office staff has also been excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

From the start, this company demonstrated skill, professionalism and understanding. The packing, loading and the move in over two days went smoothly. Move from the North of England to East Anglia was made very simple by the team. From the initial video call from Darren and the invoicing and emails from Kerrie and Anna everything was nice and easy and they were very understanding at all times. Jay and Steve who moved us over 3 days were friendly, helpful and very hard working and totally respectful of our property. A quality removal company who we trusted entirely, and the move was carried out exactly as arranged and on time. If we move again we will definitely by using Hadley & Ottaway again.

We moved recently with Hadley & Ottaway and I cannot recommend them highly enough. They kept us informed of timings, the team on all four days were polite, professional , caring and respectful of our belongings and both our old and new property. They are not, as they admit, the cheapest removal company but neither are they the most expensive. You get what you pay for and we were thoroughly pleased and reassured with our choice. They even called to arrange collection of boxes and packing paper a few weeks later without us having to chase as w’eve done with other companies. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

The company moved all of our home effects including our hot tub. The customer service from our initial contact through to the end of the move was friendly helpful and efficient. We had other quotes but the quote received from Hadley and Ottaway stood out as best value for money. The team arrived early and assessed the move immediately; they were very professional and courteous; nothing was too much trouble and they worked very hard to complete the loading of effects the same day allowing us to get an early start for our long journey. They even collected our Hot Tub from storage on the way. The delivery of all effects was concluded in a few hours with no damage to any items; they even sited the Hot Tub exactly where we wanted it. I highly recommend this company and would definitely use them if we move again.

Hadley & Ottway recently moved my furniture and effects out of storage with them into my new home. I was given a clear idea of the cost of the job beforehand. My preferences as to the date and timing of the move were discussed in advance with their office staff, who dealt promptly with one or two queries of mine. Their crew arrived within the time frame supplied. The furniture and effects, which were in good condition, were carefully moved into my property. The firm's principle of asking people to return to them untorn paper wrapping on collection of their crates is, in my view, commendable.

The crew were polite and efficient and took great care wrapping fragile items and crating paintings. Unloading was completed in a day and they then delivered our upright piano to our daughter who lives 5 miles away from our new home. Everything was done according to the quotation and it made our move - the first since July 1978! - as stress-free as possible. Thanks.

Hadley and Ottaway provided a very reasonable quote, and kept it when our house sale was delayed which they did not need to do. They were patient and flexible when we had trouble getting completion dates. All our furniture arrived intact. Mark and Sean arrived exactly on time (both days as it was a two day job) and worked tirelessly, efficiently & carefully, and were friendly and professional throughout. During what was a very stressful time they helped to put our minds at rest, and made the move far more enjoyable than expected. Hadley and Ottaway was the removals company I used for my recent house move. From the initial meeting regarding a quotation to the final collection of the boxes I'd used, the service provided by this company was exceptional. Not only was everyone I encountered, both face to face and on the phones, efficient and helpful but they were also very patient and just plain nice when I consulted them about any concerns or worries I had before and during moving day. I have nothing but praise for the guys who did the move itself. They inspired confidence with their calm and can-do approach, they were completely professional and we even managed to have a laugh which is just what you need on a stressful and emotional day. We interviewed numerous removal firms ahead of our move and we found that Hadley & Ottaway were the only ones that saw us and our lifetime collection of goods on a personal level, rather than just another household to move. They were extremely attentive to our concerns about the pianos, crystal, ornaments, artwork and various pieces of expensive furniture. Overall, as we were stressed out dealing with estate agents, solicitors and other agents, Hadley & Ottaway made it all a great experience. Not one we'd like to repeat on a regular basis but would certainly have no hesitation in contacting only Hadley & Ottaway directly should we ever have to move again.

We moved from Somerset to Norfolk and this firm were able to move us without any added stress to a momentous change in our lives. The planning staff were helpful at every stage and were willing to hold payment when a glitch in our date for exchange of contracts slipped by one day. The removal team were hearty, helpful and knowledgeable and could easily be left to get on with the job without being intrusive and did everything to keep us calm and focused. As we moved halfway across the country of a Friday, the firm kept all of our house contents securely at their base over the weekend and delivered it all safely on the Monday.

I have used this company more than once and always found them courteous, reliable and extremely competent. The office staff are switched on and helpful and the removal men always careful, thoughtful and make light work of what must be an often difficult job. They are friendly, charming and careful, taking note of any special requests. Bringing heavy boxes and furniture to a third floor flat, up numerous stairs, never resulted in grumpy behaviour or carelessness. I hope not to have to move again but if I do this company would be top of my list.

I would 100% recommend Hadley & Ottaway to you. We had a complicated move as we had to break our chain and go into storage. Plans changed frequently, but Darren and his team always accommodated the changes with patience and understanding. I would use the over used phrase of "they when above and beyond" but they really did. We moved 6 hours away, the load from our house into storage and then to our new home was very smooth and professional. All of the delivery men were obviously happy in their work, friendly and so helpful. As I say, 100% recommended.

Despite late changes of move date and uncertainty of when the new-build would be completed, the 3-day house move, including packing, went as smoothly as possible. From the initial contact with Darren, through the necessary admin steps, to the move itself, everything was first class. The fact that the cost was the lowest of five quotes is a welcome added bonus.

Hadley and Ottaway undertook our move very professionally, we decided to pack our selves. Hadley and Ottaway, provided the packing materials a week before the move, there was more than enough, however if we required more we were informed to let them know. On the day of the move they arrived at 0700 and started moving our items straight away. They provided wardrobe boxes on the day of the move, as they made up the boxes they gave them to my wife to load. The staff of Hadley and Ottaway were very professional and polite, they took good care of the flooring ensuring that carpets were covered both on the out and the in. They took good care of our furniture and loading the boxes. After all our items had been loaded into the vehicles the team left the property, after we had completed a thorough check to ensure nothing had been left behind. The senior member of staff provided us with his mobile phone number, so that we could contact him once all monies from the sale and purchase had gone through. Once we received the keys to our new property we contacted the member of staff to inform him. They were at the new property within 10 minutes, it only took them 2 hours to unload the two vehicles. After the move, once we had emptied all the packing boxes, we gave them a call to come and collect them, which they did within two days. It is good that they reuse as much of the packing material as possible, which saves going to landfill.

Hadley & Ottaway moved us from Essex to Norfolk. From the initial in person visit from Chris to quote for the work, we felt we were in safe hands. We were not disappointed in any aspect of the move. All of the team worked very hard, and remained friendly and cheerful throughout the three days despite challenging weather. Hadley and Ottoway moved me into a two bed bungalow. They had to go in through the garage and via the narrow kitchen door. Nothing was too much trouble for them They covered the new carpet on the way in and also the door. Everything was done professionally, loading the lorry was no problem and they listened to where I wanted things put. Nice and friendly and very positive attitude. I was very pleased with their work. Everything was done to the agreed schedule and the preliminary meeting went well with good communication from the firm.

Picked up the furniture on the Friday and delivered on the Monday afternoon. Very professional and courteous. Covered the floors with mats especially in our new place with cream carpets. Every time I emailed the office to keep them updated re exchange dates, they always replied quickly. We could not fit a large removal van on the road we were moving out of so they used a smaller van to transport our goods. Excellent service and a very competitive quote. Would recommend.

A business is only as good as its weakest team of operatives . On our removal day we experienced the most appalling service from this company. Moving home is regarded as one of life's most stressful events and the low standard of service we experienced from this companies operatives just had to be seen to be believed. We are well past the date of the actual removal but some of the consequences will remain with us long term and the management team showed little concern at all. We complained to WHICH and they sent us a form relating to a construction project! That says a lot about them too.

We had lived in the same house for 46 years, so moving was emotionally and physically quite a big deal for us. Our son had worked for Hadley and Ottaway when he was a student, so we knew the company proved good staff training and maintained high standards. I can honestly say that the team surpassed our expectations. They were very efficient, helpful, flexible and had a good sense of humour which made the whole thing far less stressful than we had anticipated. Highly recommended!

We cannot praise this company and its staff too highly. Ours was a substantial move (approx 200 boxes) and H&O handled it well; on schedule and without hassle. They are professional, methodical, careful and cheerful. Moving is stressful, but H&O's people reduced the pressure! The men who carried out the move were a joy to work with; thorough, considerate and good-humoured. They did a great job for us, and we would certainly use H&O again.

We first used Hadley and Ottoway in May 2017, when they moved us from Downham Market to Watton. This time we moved from Watton to Little Fransham, so went straight to Hadley and Ottoway as they had provided an excellent service previously. They emptied out our old house very quickly, and then there was a wait until the keys were available in the new house. They waited without complaint, and finished the job off very quickly once we could get into the house. I would recommend them, and would use them again should the occasion arise.

From start to finish they were nothing but professional and their team of lads on the day of the move were just fabulous and put us at ease and actually made the move a really enjoyable experience. We have used 3 other Norfolk based removals firms in recent years with a poor experience each time. When the first representative of Hadley & Ottaway came to quote for the work we both felt confident they would do a good job without any damage etc. So when the quote came in at significantly less than some of the others we jumped at the chance to give them a try. They provided loads of boxes and packing for free, the team who helped us move were very polite, friendly and helpful and it all went like clockwork. After we had finished unpacking they even came and collected all the boxes and packing from us as well. We will definetely be using H&O next time we move

We used Hadley and Ottaway for 5 months storage and then removal out of county. They were very polite, highly efficient and the removal men were extremely helpful. They were a really reasonable price for the work they did. The were great with the dog and the children. Very hard working firm. Highly recommend.

Our move was done on the two hottest days of the year. The crew worked tirelessly and uncomplainingly, particularly as the location of our house in Norwich meant everything had to be carried an extra 40 yards. Everything was delivered as requested and without any damage. There were several delays in the build up to the move, including a postponement and a late cancellation which cost us, but was obviously not the fault of the firm. The crew were helpful and pleasant throughout, and anxious to ‘get it right’, always asking if there was any doubt about where something was to go. On arrival at the new house, they had to wait nearly three hours while the estate agents managed to establish that the keys should be released. Again, they did this without complaint. We have no complaints whatsoever about the service Hadley and Ottaway provided.

We had you move house for us, the general service was good but the Piano was not correctly wrapped as we were told it was going to be and was damaged during the move. A grandfather clock was also damaged. We see the clock fall over and the staff admitted this. They have not admitted to damaging the Piano so I can't even get the insurance to pay for the damage. I will be pursuing a claim through the courts if need be but this is not my prefered choice.

It is over sixteen years since we last used Hadley and Ottaway to carry out our house move and before that in nineteen eighty three. That must say something about our experience of the well organised and smooth operation which characterises the way Hadley and Ottaway perform. There was, once again, excellent communication and a willingness to be adaptable especially once exchange and completion dates were on the table. Packing materials arrived in good time for us to start on the mammoth box filling and part of that adaptability was exemplified by providing us with an extra pair of hands to pack pictures on removal day. We were delighted with the way Steve and his team worked on day one so that on day two tasks of garage and garden clearing were accomplished in comfortable time. It was a little disconcerting to see both vans leave for our next property destination while we waited for the green light of completion confirmation. By the time we arrived they had already virtually completed the garden/garage off load. They steadily filled up our new home with boxes, pictures and furniture and were instrumental in enhancing contact with our new neighbour - she very kindly made tea/coffee for all of us. Overall the team worked hard, were always attentive and with good humour at all times. Steve may have had some concerns about schedule overrun but we are truly grateful for excellent planning from start to finish. Quick to collect the packing materials after moving and no breakages. Based on Chris’ assessment of items to be moved I was provided with appropriate packing materials and details of the proposed move. Like so many moves competition can be difficult to predict and ensuring your movers can meet your completion date is extremely stressful. Darren and the office staff at H & O ensured we were able to move on time. Ross and a team of four were absolutely superb in moving us. Throughout the operation, they were exceptionally careful, thorough, happy to accept changes, quick and cheerful. No property was damaged. Hadley & Ottaway have moved us twice the most recent being 2nd February. In addition, we have also used their storage facility. We had some difficult times before completing our new house purchase on the 2nd February and during that time Hadley staff were so supportive and flexible. Prior to our move on the 11th October we had an estimator arrive to assess the quantity of the move. In the lead up to the move 90 boxes duly arrived for us to pack! On the day of the move we were greeted by the two man team who worked efficiently through the packing and loading process: this included the careful packing of our china and glassware. The two man team were both courteous and professional throughout. They advised that it would be approximately two and a half hour journey to our destination. After this two and a half hour journey to our destination they still maintained their professional and courteous approach regarding the unloading of our possessions. We could not fault their diligence and hard work during the course of the move to our new home. We would happily recommend Hadley & Ottaway to anyone seeking to move house.

Moving house is certainly stressful but H&O provided a great service and reassurance when worrying about parking and labelling. We had the full packing service and absolutely everything got packed! The guys were great in terms of labelling - we had hundreds of books but they labelled every room and bookcase they came from. Very helpful at the other end too putting things in the right rooms. Would 100% recommend them.

They worked hard with me to accommodate changing dates, a difficult and complicated move and access problems to my new house. They arrived on the day, took instructions comprehensively but were prepared to ask questions and seek clarification during the course of loading. At the other end they unpacked efficiently, locating all packages where we wanted and also went the extra mile when asked rearranging loads when asked. Nothing was too much trouble.

The initial survey was professional and the advice was very helpful. Their moving pack was helpful to us. Once agreed on both sides with quotation, boxes and packing material came in time for us to pack. On day of moving the removal team were on time and all protection was put on doors etc, and dust sheets put down. They bubble wrapped the TV, Mirror and Leather chairs. Completed on time ready to go to new property. Unloaded in good time with no breakages. A job well done. No hurry to collect boxes when emptied. A truly professional company with great teams to carry out the work. I would recommend to anyone.

A great moving experience from initial quotation to the moving day. We have moved quite a few times and the team that helped us on move day were perfect from start to finish. They turned up at the time quoted and set to work straight away, from start to finish everyone was very helpful, efficient and courteous. I'm sure that for most people moving day is a slightly stressful affair so to have such a good team working with you is incredibly good news. We were even contacted at the right time to arrange collection of the boxes and used wrapping materials. Should we move again we will definitely plan to use Hadley & Ottaway.

Our move from a large house to a larger one spanned 3 days and required considerable planning.Throughout the process we were advised and supported by everyone we had contact with at Hadley&Ottaway, calls were always returned and nothing was left in doubt, which took a lot of the stress away from us.Really there is nothing I could say about our move that could be improved on, H & O know what they are doing so listen to their advice and follow it.For the service we received I also think H & O are reasonable on cost, the insured packing service for breakables is worth having. I would not hesitate to recommend Hadley and Ottaway or use them again in future.

Before moving house we sought prices from a number of local firms and based on the initial experience of the assessment visit and price, we chose Hadley & Ottaway to move us from Watton to West Norfolk. Hadley & Ottaway were absolutely superb throughout. Pre-move queries were answered promptly and cheerfully and on the morning of our move, the crew arrived at the agreed time. The crew were polite and took good care of our property, working methodically to load the lorry in good time. Unfortunately, there was a delay in receiving our house keys which meant the crew couldn't start to unload until almost 4 pm - but this was dealt with calmly by them as just a part of the job. Not one item was damaged during the move and the crew unloaded every item to exactly where we asked it to be placed. This really was a 1st class service in every way and we are happy to recommend Hadley & Ottaway.

We moved from Scotland to Norwich, put our belongings in Hadley and Ottaway’s store, and then had everything uplifted into our new home about 7 weeks later. They were a great company to deal with, all the team members we met were friendly and polite, and worked really hard, especially the duo that came to us in Scotland and packed our stuff. A pleasure to have in the house. The staff who do the admin at HQ are super organised and efficient. I certainly recommend getting H&O to do the packing - don’t even think of doing it yourself! It made moving out of our home a really stress-free experience. I couldn’t believe how calm and ordered it was. Possibly you can get a cheaper removal quote from another company, but for service at a time when you really need reliability and dependability, I wouldn’t hesitate to use H&O again.

Hadley & Ottaway provided our moving service when we moved house. They stood out from the time we asked for a quote as professional, thorough and trustworthy. The price included provision of boxes and moving difficult items such as our hot tub. We did have cheaper quotes but as these did not include boxes or moving specialist items, the price would have been comparative but would have required using multiple suppliers. We were really impressed with the guys who moved us from packing to moving in. They made the moving process relatively easy and nothing was too much trouble. I don’t normally leave public reviews but I think their service deserves it and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

I was really afraid that my move might not be able to go ahead. But apart from observing social distancing etc., everything seemed entirely normal. I had been moved by Hadley and Ottaway before and knew they set a very high standard. And this move was certainly excellent. They were outside my house at 7.30 am on the dot. Everything was efficiently handled and all four men were pleasant and polite and good at what they were doing. At the other end, they were equally on top of things. And the whole experience was quick and great. I should add that I had a baby grand piano amongst my belongings and that was my main reason for going with this firm as they have a lot of experience with pianos. They took the piano apart and moved it carefully without any fuss at all and set it all up again swiftly the other end. Really things could not have gone better.

The best move we have ever had thanks to the professionalism of the kind staff. Everything was wrapped carefully and nothing was damaged but more importantly they considered our comfort and needs at every stage. The new address was not the easiest to access but it was never mentioned as a problem and didn't seem to slow them. When we had unpacked they reacted swiftly and picked up the boxes and packing material the next day. We are not moving again but if we did we would want to employ them.

Their rep came to do the home assessment for a quotation. We chose them though they were not the cheapest, because the rep was informed, polite and attentive. On our moving days everything that was promised was delivered, staff were courteous and diligent.

Very quick and organised. Always polite and helpful. Very patient with our problem refectory table! And after the stress, we had previously been put through they took the strain away, and we were very pleased they were able to do our removal. Very efficient and a lovely pair of guys. All the staff were very helpful polite and professional on our move from Norfolk to Yorkshire. Everything went as promised, all the floors were protected. On unpacking, nothing had been damaged. They provided an excellent service throughout from accurately assessing the number of vehicles required both in terms of our property and logistics of pick-up and delivery along narrow lanes. Helpful staff resolving all queries promptly. High quality packing. Pick and delivery occurred exactly as planned.

Why would I go anywhere else if we were not more than pleased with their service. On time, well prepared, neat, clean, and courteous and polite staff. TVs, mirrors and pictures wrapped and packed carefully. Wardrobe boxes supplied for all hanging clothes. Front door protected as we're all carpets and floors. We have one more move planned so guess who we will go to.

Excellent removal company, couldn't fault them. They had three floors to contend with, with a huge amount of stuff on the floor. The move was over three days was very organised, minimal stress, guys worked very hard and just got on with it. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a good reliable removal service.

We had a number of changes to the timing of our move (the problem was exchange of contracts only 3 days before completion) but the company moved some resources around to ensure that our move could go ahead. I was most worried about my piano but the team moved everything exactly as they said they would. They were all very personable guys and good to work with. We had a little delay getting the keys to the new house but they were not phased and completed the job to my entire satisfaction. Maybe I could have got the job done cheaper but not to the standard that I received, so worth every penny to me. Thank you Hadley and Ottoway.

We used Hadley & Ottaway to help us move from our old home, into storage then to our new property. All aspects of their service from start to finish was superb. The customer service was exceptional and they didn’t mind how many times you asked questions or needed further guidance. The removals were done with great care and professionalism.

We were certainly not looking forward to leaving our very personal, unique, family home of 40 years, and dreading the experience. However, the Hadley & Ottaway team made what could have been a 'disaster day' into a much less stressful time than I could have ever imagined. They worked extremely well as a team, providing full support, advice and guidance as the day progressed. Their lively banter between the team members, and with ourselves, made it a much better experience and lifted our spirits immensely. Even when everything was loaded and we received bad news from our solicitors that clearance was still awaited to commence moving in to our new property the team provided support and, once given the go ahead, upped their 'team spirit, speed and efficiency' even more ensuring that we ended the day knowing it had been successful and had a bed to sleep in!! They turned up on time and started the job of packing in a professional way. They were very helpful and friendly in all they did. They took a lot of the stress out of the day. At the other end they did not mind having to wait for me to get the keys. I recommend them to anybody moving home. The price they charged was less than I thought it might be.

The two movers packed up for us and then completed our move the next day. We were amazed at their skill and the professionalism they showed, while at the same time being friendly and approachable. I would thoroughly recommend the firm to anyone contemplating a move.

The guys from Hadley & Ottaway moved our belongings from Papworth Everard to Witney as agreed. They turned up bang on time and got down to loading up right away. Everything went as promised and we were on our way in 2 hours from arrival. The guys worked impressively hard and took great care to ensure that our furniture etc was properly taken care of. They were helpful all the way throughout and we couldn't have wished for a better bunch. The same at the other end when unloading in Witney. Just a really good hassle free experience and not expensive either. They made us feel comfortable from start to finish. I was very pleased with my experience with Hadley & Ottaway. All the way through from the quote stage to completion of the job everything happened just as they said it would. Moving is a very stressful time and anything that can help reduce the stress is welcomed and they certainly did that for me. They delivered ample boxes in plenty of time for us to pack. Our home was uplifted on time and arrived at the other end unscathed and we had enough time to unpack before they arranged collection of the boxes. All the staff were very helpful right the way through too. I couldn't ask for any more.

We have moved several times over the years however we have never had such excellent service. The removal men were friendly, professional and very kind. The whole move was organised really well and the company made it as least stressful as possible. The men were polite and always attentive. Each item was carried in with care and placed in the correct room or place. Our move lasted for 2 days but it was made to seem relatively effortless. We are still impressed. We can totally recommend this company. They collected our boxes after the move and as usual arrived on time and were totally polite and pleasant.

Hadley & Ottaway were great throughout the process of moving. We had, like many people I suspect, ups and down during conveyancing and the potential completion date changed a couple of times. At all times staff were helpful and friendly and we felt we had made the right choice. We have several people come to quote (standard three bed house to a four bed down the road) but chose Hadley & Ottaway because they were professional and confident but you could also trust that they would get on with it! The quote was in the middle of the pack but the estimator seemed on the ball and when it came to packing up we had the right number of boxes so he definitely knew what he was on about. We also had personal recommendations. We used movers for the first time in nine moves and I can't ever imagine doing it ourselves now. The guys that arrived on the day were friendly and efficient, taking care of both houses and ensuring everything went smoothly. There was a delay while all the solicitors had lunch, but they still got everything off the van in time when the keys arrived. Now if only H&O could take the conveyancing process in hand, that part could have also have been much quicker.....!!

Arrived on time and made sure the carpets and front door were well protected. Were fast and efficient in moving all of our furniture into the lorry and were always happy to help or be patient as we were packing the final boxes. In our new home again they were fantastic, making sure everything was in the required rooms and not leaving until everything was put back together and we were happy. I would not hesitate in using Hadley & Ottaway again and would definitely recommend them to others. I was very grateful for the recommendation we had from a friend to use them in the first place!!
