We have used Mark for some years before at another house to install a new boiler, annual servicing and various heating issues. Mark always responds very quickly and this time our boiler developed a fault and stopped working. Mark diagnosed the issue, discussed with us what was needed, and then ordered the parts required . The work was completed very promptly to get the boiler working and also completed servicing of our Vaillant boiler and mega flow. Mark is very knowledgeable and helpful and completed the work to a high standard. I will certainly continue to use Heat Tech in the future .

I have used HeatTech since 2006. Always had professional excellent customer service from Mark and his staff. On Friday my boiler broke down. Within a few hours Mark was around at my property sorting the problem out and replacing the pump. As ever excellent service at a reasonable price, with fast time response which I am so grateful for. I called Mark around 6 pm Friday as my normal plumber was booked and I had not had hot water for a week despite my boiler apparently firing up. Mark asked for pictures of my set up and then called me back to use telephone triage with very easy guidance on things I needed to check which quickly led to an over the phone diagnosis of the problem (a failed valve); Mark clearly explained his pricing which was extremely reasonable and committed to come this morning (Saturday 9 am); he quickly confirmed it was a valve problem replaced it and explained how I could run my system more efficiently . Hot water worked perfectly after a few minutes. I recommend Mark very highly and will now use him/ Heat tech for all my boiler servicing work as I was so impressed.

We have used HeatTech for a number of years now as they got us "out of hole" when British Gas said just before Christmas that they couldn't come for 10 days despite the fact that we had a contract with them. Mark and his team fitted us in at short notice and fixed the problem so that we were warm over Christmas. We have continued to use HeatTech and are extremely satisfied with their service.

Customer service and attitude of some of the plumbers a little unfriendly But the work done was good … Until I had a problem weeks later in the same room in a different place Was charged over £100 for the leak to be looked at And the problem was not fixed I was told I was abusive when I questioned the price … And my professionalism questioned … Quick to respond and work ok But not great if you want to complain

Mark was incredible knowledgable and thorough when he visited us and went through in detail our old system with two boilers over 3 floors. He checked and double checked how it all worked and how to improve our system with a new boiler. The quote arrived quickly and dates booked in. Sapphire, the chef engineer plus 3 other engineers, arrived on time and with respect to our home, took everything out and replaced the new system , looks like a pice of art now and not spaghetti junction!. Nothing was a problem, any queries checked and resolved. I highly recommend if you want a water/ gas related job, large or small, then use Heat Tech. Second time using Heat Tech and again excellent service. My elderly mum had no hot water but Mark diagnosed where the problem was, over the phone. Amazingly they were able to come out the same day and had the problem fixed within twenty minutes. They were very clear explaining what the problem was, which impressed my mum, as she has dementia and often struggles to understand people. Can’t rate them highly enough.

Used Heat tech for the first time and they were able to fit us in on the same day. The engineer (Saphire) immediately understood what was needed and the whole job was done in half a day. I called Mark at Heat tech on Tuesday 13th, he arranged for George to come on Wednesday 14th. They arrived, as promised, at 8:30 am, the work was carried out within a couple of hours. They were so tidy and polite, the workspace was left clean and tidy after having two radiators removed from both sides of a wall. collateral damaged done to the floor in the dining room which was okay as floor is coming up anyway, but I was kept informed at all times as to what had to happen. The next good surprise was the invoice I received, very pleasantly surprised at the charge for the job. I was recommended Heat Tech by a neighbour and am so glad she did, any plumbing jobs I need doing in the future will be with Heat tech, and yes I will definately be recommending them to others in the future. HeatTech are known on the Estate I live in and I had already had a recommendation. The work I needed doing was a new shower unit in my walk-in shower, a new kitchen tap with added water filter and a new cistern valve in one of the other bathrooms. The hardest part of the work for Sapphire, who did the shower was having to remove tiles in order to get the piping out without upsetting the other bathrooms using a power showers. Fortunately I had some tiles left from the original job about 30 years ago. She grouted those tiles really well and no-one would know anything had changed, except me, of course! Sapphire had two young helpers for the other two jobs. I am extremely happy with their approach to the work and the efficient and friendly manner in which it was done and would certainly recommend HeatTech. Helen Dean

Our hot water system was on the blink. HeatTech carried out a very detailed investigation, very promptly. It was a very frustrating and intermittent problem. They made several visits and in the end we decided that the boiler was really past help. They installed a new boiler very quickly indeed. Used Heat Tec over Christmas period as heating was not working. Engineer (Dave) came out on 27 Dec., changed motor. However, problem soon returned, and he made 2 more visits, very promptly after my call. Diagnosed and sorted an elusive fault on 6 Jan. All is in perfect order. Had the boiler serviced by Heat tech in September. £120 is at the expensive end for this but figured was best to pay up for a quality service to avoid unwanted expensive failures during the winter. Boiler (combi) had been working fine before the service, but almost straight away post service we started to have instances of needing to re-pressurise the system. This happened a few times so eventually called Heat Tech back in a month later to investigate, where they found a fault with the expansion vessel, despite having signed this off as working fine at the service the previous month. £265 bill to find the fault, order the part and return to replace it. Spoke on the phone, Heat Tech not interested in excepting any liability or goodwill gesture for the sequence of events or questions around the service quality. Will not be using them again.

We are very sorry that you felt our service was not up to scratch. Expansion vessels are particularly prone to failing after a few years and this can happen at any time, even shortly after a service. At the time of the service the vessel air pressure was low, which is not unusual (and one of the reasons why regular servicing is important). It was topped up with air in the usual way. If the internal bladder, which is impossible to see, had been weak, it may have been the final straw which caused it to split a few days later. We did try to re-inflate it when you called us back but it had clearly failed, so unfortunately it to be replaced. Sorry but these things do happen sometimes.

Fix problem with Vaillant boiler heating system and room thermostat

Central heating was intermittent and not responding to the thermostat. After having a couple of locally recommended engineers look at the system and fail to properly diagnose the fault I came across this Which site which contained many satisfying reviews. Talking to Mark on the phone it was very clear that he was the engineer I was looking for. As a retired engineer of 60 years in electronics development I found we could discuss my problem successfully. Heat-Tech engineer George, came over to checkout the system and found it not to be wired according to published standards and recommended that rewiring was needed to enable efficient fault finding. Subsequently he got the heating working but there were occasional fault modes occurring and a new electronics board was needed. After fitting a replacement board the system is now working correctly. Costs of labour and parts were good value and I would call them again if required. I'm pleased with the fast and competent service from the company and would recommend Heat-Tech as a first choice. Thank you Mark and George.

I have a boiling water tap in my kitchen which is 3 years old, but it suddenly started to leak by the tank under the sink and so I needed a plumber fairly quickly. My usual plumber is good but incredibly hard to contact and never available at short notice, however, I left a message for him to call me early that morning. I spoke to a local friend about this problem that same morning and she recommended Mark to me. When I had heard nothing from my plumber by lunchtime I decided to call Mark and he answered the telephone quickly. We had a discussion about the problem which resulted in me sending pictures by WhatsApp to him. He then called me back quickly and diagnosed the problem. The following day two plumbers appeared and they worked hard to solve the problem, but alas specialist spare parts were required from the manufacturer. Off his own bat, Mark spoke to the manufacturer and managed to secure a brand new replacement tap under the warranty. The new tap was couriered to me quickly and Mark sent the same two plumbers back to instal it. All done with a minimum of fuss or hassle. To be honest I was very impressed with Mark's no nonsense approach to jobs and the initiative he showed in going direct to the manufacturer without bothering me.

Brilliant. We had no water. We called Mark. Within 2 hours he sent a lady plumber and her assistant. She found the problem, went out to buy a spare part, returned, and all was completed, with running water from all taps and showers working again much faster than I thought - just 90 minutes. This is definitely a company I will recommend.

I called Heat Tech and spoke to a very nice person called Sarah who explained Mark the engineer would be calling me back to ask a few questions about what was needed as my radiators were not working sufficiently. Mark called back and we discussed the procedure for a power flush for my heating system, which is 30 years old, so I wasn’t expecting miracles but that’s what I got. The job was booked in and two very professional guys called Neil and Lewis arrived, very polite and easy to talk to and they started the job. I also had to have a new circulation pump fitted. The guys worked hard as my rads were very gumped up but that didn’t bother them they cleared them and my radiators are working brilliantly. I was chuffed and so pleased I’ve found Heat Tech and will be definitely using them again. It’s was so refreshing to have the work carried out so professionally by experienced people. Having seen wet floorboards by the hot water cylinder, a phone call to Heat Tech led to a quick visit in order to identify the problem. Fortunately a new hot water cylinder was not required but a sticky heating valve controller and some reconfigured pipework was needed to resolve the issue. As it was just before Christmas and a complete shut down until the New Year, we were delighted with the quick service and the problem was sorted. We switched to Heat Tech in mid-December 2021 as British Gas Home Care were completely unable to sort out a problem in a timely fashion and expected us to wait until after the New Year without central heating for an engineer to call.

We had a mains water leak which had obviously been going on for some time with water saturating an internal, but load bearing wall. I had no hesitation calling 'Heat Tech Services' as I knew I would receive an excellent and prompt solution at a fair price. As it was the weekend and Mark was busy, he could not actually get to us until the following week. He was incredibly helpful, giving the best temporary solution, including what we could do ourselves to save time and money before they could come to fix the pipe. The pipe was excellently and quickly fixed by the end of Monday. The site was left clean and clear of debris. I felt like a very stressful situation was calmly, expertly and promptly sorted without causing a financial headache. I had a query regards moisture on the pipe after the job was completed and Mark thoroughly explained the possible reasons and asked me to call back if I was still concerned. The workers mended the pipe perfectly and saved us a lot of hassle over a very busy Christmas period. Thank you. I cannot recommend Mark and his team highly enough.

We noticed a small leak coming through the downstairs ceiling. It proved very difficult to find but once it was located the exact cause was established. The remedy involved installing a new shower which Heat Tech did most efficiently. A big job for a small leak but one which had to be done. I'm pleased with the new shower. I cannot recommend Mark and his team highly enough. They have recently fitted a new hot water cylinder for me which was completed efficiently and provided excellent service. Discover reason for poor water flow from bath and basin taps in main and ensuite bathrooms of a new build development. It emerged the fault was with the taps themselves - wrong specification for hard water area - both blocked with limescale and narrow-gauge Flexi hoses restricting the flow. Removal of diffusers improved flow significantly in one tap but didn't eliminate the problem in the other. Tap judged faulty - needs to be replaced. In the interim plumber used his initiative by switching the better performing tap to main suite and relegating the faulty tap to the less used bathroom pending sourcing of new fitments. The bath tap, due to the position in which it has been installed, is inaccessible for maintenance so was advised to refer back to the construction company for remedial action. The engineer stuck to the brief until he had provided a working solution and a recommendation for future action. Subsequently HeatTech followed up with a phone enquiry to ensure customer was happy with the outcome and to endorse the engineer's recommendations. Full marks for customer service. The cost was very reasonable. I use Heat Tech for annual boiler maintenance and have every confidence in their ability to deal with other issues as evidenced above.

On New Year's Eve I discovered the central heating boiler was leaking and dripping onto the kitchen worktop. Boiler went down Christmas Eve, freezing Christmas. Saved by heating engineer I never knew existed. Recommended by friendly plumber. How right she was. Mark arrived at first possible opportunity, scrutinised the boiler from every point of view - he was definitely a problem solver. He certainly had an eye for detail and discovered some little problems where things had just disintegrated, goodness. Should have been serviced earlier but at the time we were in Lockdown and I have been isolated ever since. He changed the fan, burner gasket, and ignition electrodes on the spot and went on to tighten manual air vent in the airing cupboard - getting rid of a leak was unexpected benefit. All this, no fuss. I was left with warm radiators, proper hot water and the emergency heater redundant, thank goodness. Now the house is nice and cosy and I thank Mark. Added bonus I now have a heating engineer to call on to do the annual service. Result, excellent!!!

Heat Tech installed a new Vaillant boiler for us. Following a site visit, their initial quotation was issued very quickly, was in a clear format with various options available, and was very reasonable. We were able to book in the work very quickly. The young lady who carried out the work was excellent. She was very knowledgeable, polite and professional. My wife, in particular, was mightily impressed that a woman carried out the work! After the installation, we noticed that some air had built up in the radiator system, which we understand is quite normal when a new boiler is installed. Heat Tech returned very quickly to release the air etc. They also registered our guarantee for us directly with Vaillant. All in all, we are very happy indeed with the service offered by Heat Tech.

Mark's team had to switch out old boiler set up with loft tanks etc and replace with combi plus some extra rads. A big job that took all week for 2 people. We contacted Marc at Heat tech to a boiler service at my mothers house through personal recommendation (my mother’s neighbour). Marc was very accommodating in setting up the appointment and the fact that my mother is not comfortable with people in her home. We had an ancient boiler, attached to questionable pipework which had been modified by various plumbers over the years. The boiler was removed, and the space completely cleared of any remaining pipework. New boiler fitted in the same position, and every pipe re-run in a very professional manner. This meant it looked great, and also gave us much more space, as the pipework was positioned more tidily against the walls. Sapphire, our lady plumber worked without a break over two days, until the job was done. All left neat and tidy. So pleased we are awarding Heat Tech the maintenance contract as well.

I contacted Heat Tech Services in the morning in relation to a fault on my boiler, it wasn't producing hot water. Mark got in touch with me about half an hour later and at 2 pm I had an engineer at the door. He diagnosed the fault immediately and fixed it. The engineer even waited some 10 minutes for access while I returned home. Other companies were going to come the following week and, with 2 small kids at home and an elderly grandmother, I desperately needed hot water in the house. Honestly, I couldn't rate this company highly enough. I was so impressed with their service. I used them for the annual boiler service last year and will certainly continue using them in the future. Burst pipe late afternoon on Xmas Eve sorted quickly with no fuss. Subsequent boiler breakdown and replacement handled extremely professionally. Detailed explanations at every stage. Prompt arrival every morning, quiet except for instructions, and Covid protection guidelines adhered to by all workmen (and ladies!). Work completed on time and within budget. A small problem with the new boiler (Manufacturers' fault) was remedied quickly at no extra cost. I'd used HeatTech before (after finding them on TrustedTrader) after they managed to fix two faulty valves then had meant we had no heating in the house so was fairly confident they could address the issue that the underfloor heating has stopped working. After a quick call with Mark we had figured out what the problem was (another faulty valve) he came around and replaced the value. Two of his team came round a couple of days later to make good. On Thursday we had the power off all day for our electrician to update our control panel. I was lucky enough to be introduced to Mark when I first moved to Rickmansworth in 2014. He and his team had done work for my son, so I had no hesitation in asking him to do some things that were that needed here. He installed a new Combi boiler, with all that that involved, disposing of the old boiler and enormous tank. He also took away an old radiator and replaced it with a new one on the opposite side of the room. Since then, he and his team have regularly serviced the boiler. On one of the coldest days so far, we had a problem where our boiler became faulty and would not light up, so had no heating or hot water. When continuous rumbling sounds came from our hot water tank we asked Heat Tech to investigate. A convenient date was arranged followed by an email confirming the date & time they would arrive. After the problem was identified we were told that a replacement hot water zone valve was needed as well as a new circulation pump head. These parts had to be ordered and after a few days we were contacted and Heat Tech came to complete the repair. Heating system was losing pressure in 2-3 hours, and Mark tried to seal the leak, which was believed to be in the concrete screed below wooden tiled flooring. This, in spite of 2 attempts, did not work, so we asked for the cheapest alternative, which was to have new piping to the 4 radiators affected. Because of the time of year we were anticipating it to be done in 4 weeks but, in fact, it was started within a week and completed in under 2 days. Mark was on a short holiday and his staff did the work very swiftly and we felt were efficient, tidy and charming. Mark came and checked the work done on his return. Finally, the cost of the work was good value for the time involved.

We have been using Heat Tech for many years now for servicing and repairs and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. Mark and his team have always been completely dependable and very professional. My last issue was that our heating system broke down on Christmas Eve (just gone). Whilst I knew that this would be an awkward time to expect anyone from Heat Tech to do anything, Mark came round on his way back from Christmas shopping to have a look at the problem, which wasn't an easy one to diagnose or repair. Nonetheless, across three visits that day, Mark managed to solve the problem, replaced a faulty valve and get us up and running with a fully working heating system again over Christmas! Mark was recommended to me and with good reason. He was the third plumber/heating engineer to attend in the 8 days we were without heating or hot water. Expensive solutions had been diagnosed by the others e.g. new boiler! They say that planning is the key to success... In advance of the appointment, Mark asked me to send photos of the boiler, the pump the immersion valve etc. On the day of the appointment he attended with his (very polite, articulate and proficient ) young apprentice. They were outstanding. Heating system drained, pump replaced, radiators warm and hot water restored within 90 minutes of arrival. Having received the photos, he had been able to ensure that he had all possible parts on board should they be required. I am very impressed by the professionalism of all aspects of Heat Tech, not least as the problem was swiftly identified and fixed at a fraction of the cost I had been advised by the companies.

I needed to upgrade an existing radiator in terms of size and power. As I had hardwood flooring it was also necessary to adapt the existing pipework for the existing 400 to be extended to accommodate a 600. The work was excellent and completed efficiently. Mark was assisted by an apprentice I was extremely impressed by the clarity of his instruction to the new member of staff. This was similar to that I was privileged to enjoy at the quotation quotation stage. The cost was within budget and initial quote. Most definitely a professional whom I would welcome back.

Heat Tech were asked by us to quote after hearing great reviews from other customers. We went ahead and everything happened as explained and planned. The actual week long work flow went like a dream. Our 18 radiators were cleaned out, the new boiler fitted, tested and working. What was special was that Marl and his team were on time and took time to explain each step. Mark also worked out a smart way for our complete new heating system to avoid unsightly external pipe work so that everything is neatly confined within the roof space. All work was also made good to a very high standard. Mark and his team also worked through the UK's hottest days on record. I highly advise others to contact Heat Tech on any major domestic heating or plumbing project.

This job was a bit of a nightmare for Mark as the original extensive wiring was shambolic and had to be replaced . In addition one of the new thermostats proved to be faulty and an existing valve had seized. Nevertheless Mark soldiered on and finished the job to his usual high standard.

I almost feel reluctant to recommend as I don’t want him to get so busy he can’t come and rescue us! Having lived in the area 15 years our plumbing experiences have been pretty dire before meeting Mark. He is prompt, gets on with it and doesn’t over charge. This last job was a proper rescue job for a flood on a Sunday morning and he was there within the hour.

Our heating/hot water system failed us over the bank holiday.... no hot water. I phoned Mark at 8.30 am on Tuesday, and he was at our place by 9.45, diagnosed our problem, and had replaced the faulty part in 40 minutes. This is exemplary service ..... I know Mark has a very full work schedule. I also admire the fact that Mark was accompanied, as he has been on previous occasions, by an apprentice ( on this occasion a young woman) who he was instructing and giving hands on experience while he worked. On the whole highly skilled and experienced trades people who work for us are reluctant to take on apprentices ..... it's easier just to do the work yourself, and the paper work is daunting. Some of these are near retirement, and a lifetime of experience will go with them. So well done Mark for passing on your skill to the next generation.

Around lunchtime we realised that we had lost heating and hot water. Looking at the boiler it was obviously dead. We called Mark Ockenden at Heat Tech and he called back within 20 minutes. He came to the house as soon as he had completed his other work for the day. It was clearly a difficult problem to resolve but he persisted and a replaced transformer got our boiler working again. It was clear that Mark was going to spend as much time as necessary to get our boiler working again. Excellent service.

Mark came round to add new heating elements into my electric hot water tank as my hot water was not heating properly (after nearly 20 years with the previous elements). He responded to my initial inquiry quickly, took the time to listen to my problem, and gave me a clear plan of what he would do to fix it. He gave me a very accurate quote and was upfront about all costs. I found him to be professional, knowledgeable, and very friendly (he even took the time to help explain some other aspects of how my hot water tank works which I really appreciated). I trusted him completely and would certainly recommend his services (I initially found Mark through a 'Which Trusted Traders' search). I'm really enjoying having hot showers again - they're better than they've ever been in this flat.

I have had my boiler and hot water cylinder serviced for the last two years and I have been delighted with the work - done with care and thoroughness as well as the efficient and courteous service and helpful attitude. A point to note is that the use of overshoes to keep your floors clean may be what a customer should expect but it is all too rarely encountered. These little things can make such a difference.

We needed a plumber who was qualified in working on unvented pressurised hot water systems to replace a pump, some radiator valves and venting equipment. This included draining the system and refilling, pressurising and testing. Fortunately we were aware of Mark Ockenden of Heat Tech Services from a previous job and knew him to be an excellent engineer for this type of work (and a wide range of others of course). Mark provides a very efficient and punctual service with excellent communications. We were able to discuss the job by means of emails with photos so he was fully prepared for the work on arrival. I felt very confident in Mark's skills and advice. The work was completed very quickly in a calm and tidy manner and the hot water system is working perfectly again.

Our gas boiler failed on the Saturday morning before Christmasand would not reignite. This required a call out and action to avoid not having heating over the Christmas period with little time to resolve the problem. Mark gave technical advice over the phone to try to resolve the problem but without results it required a visit late on Saturday afternoon. He analysed that it was a control valve problem and replaced the part from his stores in the van which avoided further delay or a return visit. I called Mark with the intention of asking for a quote to replace my boiler. As it is cannot be repaired I needed the work carried out quickly. I selected HeatTech on the recommendation of a neighbour. Communications were good - when the engineer was delayed by his previous job he rang in plenty of time to explain that he was going to be late and why; if only more tradespeople would do this. On the recommendation of a neighbour, I arranged for HeatTech to provide an annual service for my boiler. Arranging the appointment was easy. On the day, the engineer realised that he would not complete his previous job in time to meet the appointment time for me, so called with an explanation and a revised ETA - if only more tradespeople would do this. He met the revised ETA and carried out the service efficiently. I will use HeatTech again and, like my neighbour, am happy to recommend them.

Everything about Heat Tech left me feeling pleased that we decided to invite Mark and his team to help us out. They telephoned us when they said they would, arrived punctually to do the work, were considerate and polite in explaining what needed to be done and completed the work very professionally. Also Mark resolved what could have been quite a complex repair very quickly and straightforwardly - saving us potentially a lot of money in the process. So we now have a fully functioning hot water system, a repaired toilet cistern and discovered someone in whom we have a lot of confidence.
