We had a problem with our oil boiler. This was rescheduled at short notice. Then there were 3 visits with no warning about a potential tripling of cost. Unnecessary parts were changed, then taken away as I protested that they did not make any difference but still charged for them. I had to stay at home for 3 days, waiting around. Whoever they sent spent more time on the phone in the garden (our village has poor mobile signal) than doing any actual work inside. I would not recommend them to anyone.

We decided to replace our old boiler before the net-zero omnishambles takes hold and, as Heelas had been servicing our existing heating system for 14 years, we asked for a quote. Dan Heelas himself did the survey and made the recommendations. The price was acceptable and included a Bosch condensing boiler, new pump, magnetic junk collector and wireless hall thermostat. Fitting, rewiring, etc took two days most of which was spent trying to get the old flue out of an eighteen-inch thick solid stone wall. As it is summer the central heating has not really kicked in yet but the hot water heats up in just a couple of minutes after morning showers although that is backed up by solar hot water roof panels. The work was professionally carried out by the guys, tidily, cleaning up each day and leaving everything spick and span. I cannot highly enough recommend Heelas Heating and Renewables. A real no-brainer if you are considering a replacement heating system.

We were very happy with the professional and cheerful service we received from Dan Heelas and team. The plumbing and wiring was complicated as we have a zoned heating system but both the updated additional plumbing and the complex re-wiring were undertaken with good humour and a professional approach to detail. The team turned up exactly on times agreed in advance and were amenable to blocked times when engineers in the house would have caused us a problem. New outside brickwork (where a large opening from an old boiler needed to be reduced in size) was carefully matched with the existing house wire-cut London brick. I would unreservedly recommend the Heelas team.

We can thoroughly recommend Dan Heelas and his team. We needed to have a water softener installed, and approached Dan as he was so highly rated as a Which? Trusted Trader. We have not been disappointed! From the word go, communication has been excellent and Dan himself visited us first to find out exactly what we wanted/needed. He is obviously an expert at what he does, but explained everything very clearly so that we were absolutely sure about every aspect of the process. This continued subsequently when his colleague Richard came to carry out the installation; he was extremely informative, courteous and easy to have around. The whole experience was enhanced by communications with Nicola, who is also extremely pleasant and efficient, and was very helpful when we needed to change the date of an appointment - what a dream team!

Dan's team did a great job in replacing my old Worcester Bosch boiler with a new one. The disruption to my home was minimal, and the work was done within the time that had been proposed, which required a later stay on site than might have been expected when the job was agreed. Richard and Tom were unfailingly courteous. Heelas Heating has looked after my heating and hot water system since it was installed in 2010. Their response to emergency call outs over the years has always been prompt. I have no hesitation in recommending Heelas Heating.

My Worcester combi oil boiler was constantly losing pressure following the recommendation of a neighbour I called Heelas who came out within a day or so to take a look and diagnose the issue, thankfully after ten to fifteen minutes of investigative work, they were able to fix the issue on the spot and the boiler has been working perfectly ever since (his visit was now one month ago). Very knowledgeable and very pleased with the service.

Heelas came to replace The Boiler. They dismantled and disposed of the existing boiler, cleanly and efficiently. They then installed, tested and delivered a working boiler. It was achieved to schedule and budget, we were delighted about this. Heelas stood out because of their efficiency, cleanliness and obvious knowledge. They kept us up to date of progress and even when there was a small hitch was able to reassure that everything would be fine, which it was. Heelas installed our boiler 9 yrs ago. Since that time we have had the best of service support from them. It may not always need a call-out. Sometimes a text or call will fix the issue, but Dan and his team have proved exceptionally helpful with even the most trivial or critical of issues. We tried moving to the manufacturer of our boiler for service but came straight back to Heelas within a few months because they have been reliable and professional at every turn. The alternative was not by any means. If you want a local professional who will take care of things for you and not let you down ….this is the company to go for.

Dan Heelas was very helpful during the initial inquiry and provided a very comprehensive breakdown of the work to be done and the work program. Arrangements for the work were agreed at a mutually convenient time and we were happy with the time scal. Richard, the engineer did an excellent job despite some very difficult requirements. The existing system included a tank which we wanted to retain and this required sections of the existing pipework to be changed to allow a fully pumped system to be installed. We also wanted as much of the control gear installed in a cupboard as possible and this he was able to achieve. Richard was always careful to ensure as little disruption as possible and cleaned up each evening. We have been very pleased with the resulting installation and it seems to work as well as promised. Communication with the company has been excellent throughout and we would certainly recommend them.

I contacted Heelas in mid-January, having previously used them for our annual boiler service. As always they were prompt in getting back to me and arranging a time to look at our faulty boiler. When it transpired we needed to have a new boiler installed, they were great in getting this arranged for us as soon as possible. We literally had the boiler installed the next day. They came in early in the morning, were very respectful of our social distancing wishes, worked tirelessly and had our boiler installed the same day. To be honest I can't fault them and would thoroughly recommend them to anyone who would like to hire a reliable and competent company. Their admin team is lovely too and always super helpful. We were having problems with leaky whirlpool bath fittings, and a number of other minor plumbing woes. I tried a self fix and failed, and had problems with the stop cock (nightmare!). Dan came out promptly, fixed the immediate stuff, and assessed the other items. Then as a follow up his colleague Richard came, was already well briefed, and fixed the remainder, and serviced the boiler by request too. Great service, great communicators, highly recommend!

Our 20+ year old boiler started to really play up in early Jan and despite a maintenance contract with British Gas they were unable to fix it or suggest next steps after a lengthy engineer visit so we contacted Heelas as well as other companies. Heelas were very prompt to respond, surveyed the problem boiler and pipework and made recommendations, and crucially were able to fit us in quickly. The engineers were excellent, clean, tidy, and professional, keeping us informed of what they were doing as well as discussing issues they encountered along the way. Work was completed ahead of schedule and we now have a fully functioning boiler and system for the first time in a long while. We contracted Heelas after moving into our home with a very old heating system which was not performing well. We had already chosen to replace the full system rather than repair (the system was 26 years old and showed signs of neglect). From the initial contact right through to the job completion, we were very happy with Heelas. The workmen were always on time, very clean and kept us informed at every step of the job, including when there was an unexpected curveball with a shower. There was a slight issue with the quote, however, it was rectified prior to job start in a fair and equitable manner. All snags were corrected before the end of each day (albeit there were only 2 minor ones!), and we also had a telephone follow up from Dan Heelas himself to check on satisfaction. Heelas are not the cheapest out there, but we are happy that we did get value for money and the satisfaction of a job very well done!

We are delighted with the boiler replacement and installation of a new radiator that Heelas completed for us. They were very thorough in their initial visit to ensure they really understood everything that needed doing. They were not the cheapest quote, but we had complete confidence that there would be no nasty surprises. They spotted several compliance issues that other companies did not mention, made clear what was optional but advisable as improvements, and they also explained why some expensive procedures and products other companies had suggested were not necessary or even desirable. So we feel confident that the final price paid was probably as good or better than what we would have ended up paying for apparently cheaper companies. As our old boiler had completely failed, Heelas slotted the work in very quickly. The engineer on site was very professional, helpful, tidy and clean, and he took the time to explain how everything worked and make sure the system was running well and to our satisfaction before leaving. I would recommend Heelas without hesitation and will certainly go back to them for any further heating or plumbing work we need.

We had really good service from Heelas: thorough, considerate and efficient at all stages of the process, from quoting to completion, so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. We asked Heelas to supply and fit a Worcester Bosch combi boiler and new thermostat to replace our current elderly boiler. The quote was very thorough and set out a couple of different options and explained additional costs that might be incurred as the job progressed, so there would be no nasty shocks later (in the end, all went very smoothly and the worst case scenario didn't happen.) The work was done really efficiently and neatly, on budget and in the agreed time - it took around a day and a half and we were consulted about it as it went along (eg to check we were happy with the precise placement of the boiler in the space.) They went the extra mile to make good and tidy up - for example, it was necessary to replace some bricks where the old flue had been, and they managed to source bricks of the right colour and check we were happy with them. Everybody we had contact with at Heelas was pleasant, professional, punctual, helpful and considerate. I felt we were in very safe and expert hands, and I doubt you could find a better service.

We chose Heelas for a boiler replacement as they are local to us. The quote was competitive. The engineer (Richard) arrived on time and was very respectful of our newly refurbished wooden floors and laid covers for protection. Richard was keen to involve me at each stage and sought assurances for placing the boiler and new piping. A problem was found with the old expansion tank and a new one was sourced at additional cost. The electric for the old boiler was incompatible with the new boiler and Heelas arranged for an electrician to come that day to remedy the problem, also at additional cost. No issue with these additional requirements as this was explained in the quote. The work completed was to a very high standard and we are very pleased with the new boiler and would recommend Heelas based on our experience. The room was left clean and tidy. The following day Dan Heelas visited to inspect the work and to ensure we’re happy with everything. Our bill followed the next day with the additional work properly itemised.

The gas engineers who came to fix it worked well throughout the day altering the necessary pipe work and installing a new boiler and left a very tidy job and fully functioning central heating at the end of the day . They were well aware of their responsibilities regarding social distancing in these difficult times but this did not hamper their work nor cause any other difficulties in the rest of the household nor compromise them explaining the important operations to me such as how to keep an eye on the boiler pressures and refill if necessary, and on the timer functions and operations. Overall, a fully professional approach by all and I would thoroughly recommend this firm to others.

The 13 year old boiler in our educational arts establishment terminally failed on Friday 24th January, a detailed quote for a new one and installation was issued swiftly and was within our budget for the quality of the boiler, it was fitted after the weekend over two days & completed on January 28th. Heelas Heating & Renewables supplied us with electric heaters and their engineers were sensitive to our requirements, working around staff & students allowing us to operate as usual and thus not lose any revenue through cancellation of classes. The boiler was neatly installed and the surrounding area left tidy, the work was completed for the amount quoted with no hidden extras, the engineer took the time to clearly explain the operation of the new boiler & thermostat.

Our old boiler failed in January and after a quote which arrived quickly it was deemed not cost effective to repair considering its age (15 yrs) and make. After a very quick response and excellent communications including a reasonably priced quote from Heelas Renewables, the new boiler was installed and up and running within a very short period of time. The company is very well run and the workmen very polite, knowledgeable and efficient people; taking care to communicate during the job and taking a lot of care to make as little mess as possible and to clean up afterwards. In my experience using them for about 20 years they are a very well run local company who I would happily recommend.

We had a new HW cylinder installed in January 2019. On June 21st we found water on the floor of the airing cupboard and wetting the hall carpet. Contacted Heelas and Dan visited us first thing the following morning. They had a replacement in and fitted satisfactorily on June 25th, the delay being occasioned by the non-availability of the correct replacement cylinder. Their engineer was very professional and completed the work with minimum disruption to us within 2 and half hours. Heelas have done lots of work for us and we highly recommend them.

I can't recommend Heelas Heating & Renewables more highly. A few weeks ago my central heating and hot water system stopped working. I gave Heelas a call and Dan Heelas himself was at my door within the hour. He checked the system out and told me that there was blockage in the system and that as a result the boiler was tripping out preventing the system from working. He recommended power flushing - a prolonged and expensive process. This was carried out taking most of the day and finished with bleeding and balancing the individual radiator heat output. All the work was all carried out in a very professional manner. My heating system is now fully functional, back to the way I remember it.

We needed a new boiler in our garage to replace an old boiler in our utility room. Of the traders who came out to quote, Dan Heelas was the most through. He suggested replacing the central heating pump and two valves, all 20 years old and after some research, I accepted this as good advice and our whole system is now much quieter. The standard of work carried out was very good. It took slightly longer than expected due to a couple of complications but the quote price was honoured. Installer was very helpful and friendly. Unlike other installers, did not try and charge for a power flush as the chemical flush was adequate. No hesitation in recommending to others.

I would not hesitate to recommend Heelas Plumbing Services, the team were very professional, dedicated and considerate in their work ethics. They did an excellent job and I was impressed with all communication and explanations as to how the boiler was to be installed. Even checked that i was happy with areas in my kitchen that needed holes drilled to accommodate pipes etc. So there were no shock factors when i returned home. They were very efficient in cleaning up after themselves and everything was nice and tidy. Our boiler ceased working on a Sunday (one of the coldest nights of the year) and I emailed Heelas that day hoping it would be answered on the Monday. Dan from Heelas answered immediately, visited and organised a replacement on the Monday much to my amazement. The team worked hard on Monday installing a new modern boiler which involved fitting a new flue and conducing flow away and fitting some new valves and electrics. The work was complete on time but due to the age of one of the radiators it developed a leak (no fault of Heelas) and that needed replacing too. All the work was done efficiently with little fuss and the house left spick & span afterward. Could not have been done better.

From the start Dan was very professional when doing the survey of our CH system prior to installing a new boiler. He recognized shortcomings in the original install that needed correcting and quoted (rightly) accordingly. It is fair to say Heelas wasn't the lowest quote I obtained but due to their professional manner I was happy to go with them, and how right my decision proved. We found Chris to be very thorough in his inspection of what needed to be done. We had a boiler replacement and two new radiators fitted this was done to a very high standard by friendly ( very dog friendly too! ) and proficient staff. They kept us informed of every phase of the work and explained fully any problems that might be encountered of which there were one or two which were resolved satisfactorily. Work was started and finished on time and budget as per the quote . The team all worked very well together , they were very tidy even to the point of clearing up outside. Our village hall boiler failed and I called Dan from Heelas Heating and Renewables for help. Dan arrived promptly and we discussed the options, it was decided to replace the boiler and associated parts, (flue exhaust, expansion tank etc.) Dan supplied a quotation within 24hrs which was accepted and the work was completed within a week. Dan surveyed the whole of the heating system after commissioning the boiler and carried out tweaks to balance the system and improve the efficiency of the radiators. A very friendly professional company.

We recently used Heelas Heating for a boiler replacement and were very happy with the results. The initial quote was professional, informative and we were advised we needed a less powerful thus less expensive boiler than we thought we needed. Unusual for a plumber to try and save you money!!! The installation engineers were polite and friendly and seemed to take great pride in their work. Also they were very tidy. They cleaned and hoovered at the end of each day. We had our old boilers replaced with new Worcester-Bosch boilers. Because we have two boilers, Heelas fitted a low loss header which we we did not have previously and this makes the system much more efficient. They also connected the under floor heating correctly when previously it had not had its own separate pump. All in all a much improved system and we are very please with the work.

Started using Heelas in Spring 2017 after a recommendation from a friend. What impressed me was the professional approach. I own my own home and manage a number of properties and had been let down by numerous 'plumbers' who were late if they turned up at all. Our family home was without hot water and heating. An engineer arrived (on time, a good start) and the problem was diagnosed. Within the hour all was back to normal. After this I had no hesitation in calling Dan to design a new heating system for a house refurb. He came up with solutions and a new system was installed, tested and working before tenants were placed. Recommended these guys to my brother who manages property across Oxfordshire.

We were severely let down by a well know national boiler supplier beginning with a W during the recent extreme weather. Our service contract with them was worthless as they would not take calls or respond to online logged requests. All that happened over the 30 or so times we tried to call, was hearing a recorded "we are too busy to add you to the queue". So cold and desperate and having used Heelas to install our boiler 6 yrs ago I contacted their out of hours email service at 6.15pm. 90 minutes later Dan rang me. He gave excellent / local knowledge advice which got us up and running. Not only that, he has been back in touch twice just to be sure we are OK and still warm. No pressure to come and visit and no payment. THAT IS GREAT SUPPORT AND SERVICE. At this point we still have had no contact from the national provider 3 days after logging the call. Guess who will be getting out service business going forward...

Not recommended. Very painful experience. Heelas H&R came to service our boiler and charged premium rate £192 for a 35 mins service (we timed it). The boiler did not work after that while it was working fine until then. Heelas H&R did not seem able to diagnose the problem and very quickly left us deal directly with Worcester customer service. 5 days without heating or hot water. Worcester very professionally fixed the issue for us. Heelas H&R did not even offer a refund or compensation for all the troubles. Waste of time and money. Typical "not-my-fault" attitude with "bad-luck", "we live in an imperfect world" excuses. If your boiler is a Worcester-Bosch it is best service it with them directly. They offer more affordable prices and they have the expertise of their product (know what to look for), the spare parts and spend the necessary time to diagnose and fix any issues (2h35 in our case).

Moved home and the new house had a solar pv water system installed and the solar part wasn't switched on and there wasn't a manual. Dan charged us £240 for 40 minutes of his time including parking his van, to inform me that he could put a new system in and to not bother with the existing system. Since then we have had a new boiler fitted with someone else who didn't charge us to come and quote. My builder said he wished he could make that much money an hour! Heelas vans are nice and new though and Dan was clean and smart looking.

Heelas replaced my elderly mothers shower with a power shower and seat but there was a problem with it. Mistakes do happen but they were very quick to respond and accepted full liability. They didn't charge anything to put it right, including replacing the seal around the shower - which was extra. Luca was charming and explained everything he was doing, to my mother. My solar installation had stopped working only 18 months after another company had charged me £2500 for fixing it. Dan Heelas came and within two hours had identified the problem -the wrong kind of pressure valve had been installed- and had replaced it with the correct valve and got the system working.
