Henshaw Gas Plumbing fitted our boiler several years ago and Stuart now does an annual service. This time we also had a leaky radiator. Stuart came on time, at the time agreed, did the boiler service and fixed the leaky radiator by replacing the valve. My Worcester Bosch combo boiler had its annual service yesterday. This service was carried out by Stuart Henshaw (Henshaw Gas and Plumbing) on time, as planned. Stuart is both very pleasant and competent and I have no hesitation in recommending Henshaw Gas and Plumbing.

Stuart came highly recommended by a trusted neighbour and his professionalism and workmanship lived up to expectations . He arrived on time as arranged , a couple of WhatsApp exchanges before meant he was ready to diagnose and then fix a couple of existing faults . He then completed an annual boiler service . He offered advice on upgrading our system to a mobile connection based thermostatic control . We will be back in touch to secure his services in the spring . This first encounter couldn’t have gone better .

Stuart came very promptly at the appointment time to service the boiler. He worked efficiently and on diagnosing a fault he ordered the necessary parts quickly and came 3 days later to effect the repair. There was a problem with hot water in the taps afterwards and he returned in the afternoon to sort it.

Our work package: remove old gas boiler and fit a new one with additional efficiency features, replace two towel radiators (dual fuel), and add a pressure reducing valve to our domestic water supply. We very much like the trader's website and transparent pricing - the main reason why we approached him initially. The response to our email enquiry was prompt, followed by a site visit. First impressions, on line and face-to-face, were very favourable: personable, clear communications, polite, knowledgeable with constructive suggestions how to further optimise our heating system. We received and accepted a quote, work was scheduled over two days, and was started and completed as promised. Over both days the trader showed consideration of our rooms, protected floors and work very tidily. Before he left the trader explained all new features and how to use them. The final invoice matched the quote exactly. We have already booked the trader for the boiler service in 2025.

Henshaw Gas and Plumbing installed our boiler seven years ago and have regularly serviced it at the stipulated intervals (annually). They arrive at the agreed times and complete the work according to the schedule. They are efficient, clean and tidy. If there are any issues to be resolved these are clearly explained and appropriate action agreed and carried out. The service that they offer is value for money.

Having installed our new gas combi boiler in June 2023, Stuart carried out its first service. The appointment was easy to arrange and Stuart arrived punctually. Stuart was recommended to us. He was very honest about his availability, kept in touch when he said he would, and provided a sensible quote for the work. Stuart turned up as expected, worked extremely hard over the course of the days he was here, to replace our cold conventional boiler with a combi boiler, hive controller, thermostatic valves on our radiators and some new pipework remove the old header tanks in the loft, the hot water cylinder, fit a new towel rail, etc. The work areas were kept as clean as possible. Work was finished to time and to a high standard. Boiler/heating controls were explained before he left, paperwork completed together with what certificates we should expect via post. Stuart does an excellent job from initial installation, through annual maintenance to daily performance. He is a friendly guy who works tidily and thoroughly, though he was unable to identify and deal with one or two minor issues probably in the system rather than the boiler itself

Stuart serviced our Worcester Bosch boiler last year and warned us that it would need to be replaced, sooner or later. This happened in January, Stuart gave us good advice on how to improve the system and tendered a quotation. The work was carried out yesterday completely to our satisfaction. Stuart of Henshaw Gas was recommended to me by a neighbour as a heating engineer who was very good, reliable and value for money. Stuart turned out to be all those things and more. I had a problem with the under floor heating in three large rooms, multiple Nests and two boilers. I couldn’t get the heating to work and it was winter. Stuart arrived to assess the problem and said he’d need a day to fix it (the issue was complex). However, during that initial consultation he was able to get the heating to work in the main room, which was unexpected and very appreciated! He returned some days later and sorted everything out perfectly. He carried out the work patiently and cheerfully, working very hard on a complex heating system. Since then I have used Stuart three more times, each time he provided an excellent service, he turned up on the date agreed and there was no deviation from the (very reasonable) estimate. He is always polite, professional and wastes no time getting things done. I know he is much in demand and must be booked well in advance – but I find his popularity very reassuring! I have not had any issues regarding any of the work he has done for me. On this basis, I have no hesitation in recommending Stuart and Henshaw Gas.

Stuart re-piped part of our central heating system and, a few weeks later, fitted a new combi boiler. We were very comfortable with his professional style of working both during the negotiations and execution of the jobs: always punctual, responded to messages and calls, kept to budget and schedule, diligent, tidy, helpful and courteous. Stuart fitted a new boiler and modified our water heating system which was originally electric. This involved considerable plumbing work. Stuart did a fantastic job to replace our old back boiler in the living room for a new combi boiler in the cellar. The plumbing in our house was slightly unusual and Stuart did a great job of understanding and modifying it to suit our new boiler with minimal disruption (a few carpets and floor boards lifted in localised spots and put back in place as though he hadn't been there). Stuart responded quickly and helpfully to any queries I had in the lead up to him replacing the boiler and he kept me regularly up to date with his arrangements. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

I used Henshaw Gas & Plumbing for work earlier this year and had no hesitation in contacting him to replace a radiator valve in the bathroom. Stuart was honest enough to admit that he was very busy, and wouldn't be able to come until January 6. However, in the freezing condition of early December, I contacted him to say that if a cancellation came up we would appreciate his services, as my wife and I are in our 70s and 80s respectively. On only the following day, he phoned to say that he would be with us within 20 minutes - and was. We are totally delighted with Stuart and would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone.

Stuart was clear and precise with his quote of work to be carried out. Date was given for the work to be started and was adhered to. He was very punctual worked hard and ensured we had heat at the end of the first day. Not for the first time, Stuart from Henshaw Gas & Plumbing completed a job quickly and expertly, navigating any small issues without complaint. This time it was a gas hob ordered by me but without my being able to check cut-out dimensions/gas feed/electrical supply beforehand. Knowing that Stuart had refitted the previous hob after I completely redid a kitchen I knew he wouldn't let any small obstacles stop him (I have had poor experiences with supplier-organised tradespeople) and he was happy to arrive with tools for cut-out or cabinet mods.. I live in Italy so the hob was fitted without me being present and I was able to trust Stuart completely. He's also a nice, friendly guy :-)

Stuart has helped us with various things over the past 7 years, including a problematic and very awkward fix and modification to the water heating system after we moved house 2 years ago. He identified the problem and defined the solution, but also gave us the option to make a modification to the system so that any future service would be much simpler. We appreciated this extra consideration and the work was done and problem was sorted. This most recent visit involved one single radiator that was not functioning. During the visit he considered various possible problems and tried a non-intrusive method to clear a suspected blockage that proved successful. The issue was resolved with a single visit. We would certainly ask for his help with any other issues in the future.

We are so glad our friend and neighbour recommended Stuart to us after he had worked with him on house renovations some years ago. Henshaw Gas removed a back boiler and obsolete pipework; and then installed a new boiler and 9 radiators, solving many riddles (associated with the old system) along the way! Stuart was so incredibly helpful through the whole process. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he advised clearly on what would be the best options for us. He was punctual, tidied up and completed the project ahead of schedule. We would undoubtedly use Stuart again for any Gas Services we need in the future and cannot recommend him too highly.

Stuart carried out a service on our boiler. Previously we had an expensive annual contract with a home boiler care company which was supposed to service our boiler every year but didn't. Stuart arrived on time, carried out a full and complete service and provided full feedback on the condition of our boiler. Stuart cleaned out the burner and other parts, cleaned out the magnetic filter, carried out the full safety check and checked everything carefully including the controls, pumps, valves etc. ( I mention this because the last service we had from our previous home boiler care company consisted of a quick exhaust gasses safety check, 10 minutes of filling in forms on a PC and nothing else! ) We have cancelled the expensive annual contract with our home boiler care company and will rely on Stuart to keep our boiler serviced and running in the future! Excellent friendly service at a good price from Henshaw Gas and Plumbing.

We contacted Henshaw’s to give a quote on a boiler replacement. He gave the cheapest quote and is local to us and had good reviews so we booked with him. Unfortunately due to workload we had a 2 month wait for the install. However he turned up exactly when he had suggested he would. The install was completed within two days including full system flush, thermostat install etc. Work was tidy and fully cleaned up afterwards. Some pipe work quoted for turned out not to be required, so a suitable reduction in price was given. I found Stuart easy to talk to and happy to openly discuss the various pros and cons of different heating features. I would happily recommend Stuart, but due to workload, you might have to wait before the job can be started.

Unhappy with temp. of hot water produced from our Baxi boiler. Stuart from Henshaws called round, offered solution to the problem and today carried out repair. Extremely pleased with service/price/result. Will be using again for any future heating issues and would strongly recommend Henshaws to family and friends.

We were entirely satisfied with Stuart's approach, attitude and workmanship. We agreed on some extra TRVs for which he quoted before fitting. He called back immediately I told him about a small leak the day after completion, which he attended to straight away. The final result is an efficient boiler installation well able to provide a cosy home economically and quietly.

Following a boiler service, our bath water was still frequently not hot enough. Stuart identified that the shower unit through which hot and cold water passed to the bath was not functioning properly. By replacing this, he resolved the problem. As usual, he was friendly, efficient, good value for money and, in these times of covid infection, he was also attentive to safety.

My Worcester/Bosch 30i combi boiler was due for servicing and I picked out Henshaw Gas & Plumbing for the good reviews as a Worcester/Bosch registered installer. Stuart arrived to start the job and immediately noticed the boiler had not been fixed to the wall securely by the original installer. It was loose and potentially at risk of coming away from the wall. He disconnected the boiler, then rehung it in a safe and secure manner with correct size fittings. He then carried out the boiler service. In my opinion the whole job was done efficiently to a high professional standard and this includes quick telephone call response and all queries thoroughly explained in a friendly manner. I highly recommend his work.

Our annual boiler/central heating check was due. As Stuart had supplied and fitted our new boiler last year and we were so pleased with his work, we ended the service agreement with one of the national companies and went with Stuart instead. Also we had a new gas fire last year before we knew Stuart and this needs to have a part replaced each year under the warrant terms, so he did this for us at the same time. We had originally booked in with him for the following week; however he rang and said he could do it earlier as he was doing some work for our next door neighbour (on our recommendation) so we said yes. Supply and fit a new gas combi boiler. From the initial telephone conversation to the completion of the work Stuart was professional throughout. I rang Stuart to ask to have my old Worcester boiler and hot water cylinder removed and a new Baxi 830 Combi boiler installed. Stuart's latest job for me was intended to be to change a shower mixer valve - but he ended up having to replace and re-plumb the shower pump as well. As ever, his work was excellent, his attitude professional, and he charged me a very fair price. The first time I employed Stuart he combined two heating and hot water systems into one, you can see some of the pipework in the large picture on his page here (with the dumbbell in the foreground). That was a challenging task which took several weeks, a job several other plumbers had turned down. I have used him ever since, and would recommend him unhesitatingly.
