Chris , Sean and Scott of Hinsons constructed, painted and installed four corded Sash windows together with a toilet window. The quality of the windows are very good with traditional brass catches, handles and pulleys. Fitting involved the removal of 125 year old sash windows, install of new heavy double glazed sashes and surrounding architrave. I've just had my front door fitted. After visiting the Hinson showroom last summer I had high expectations of the quality of the workmanship, service and the front door we'd chosen. The sixteen week quoted lead time was difficult to swallow but accepted it because the product looked good, and we respected Hinson when they said they quote realistic lead times. I'm really happy with the end result - the door is solid, looks great and meets initial expectations. The installers were superb - good, professional guys, who did a great job and cleaned up after themselves, removing all waste from site including my old PVC door. Price wise Hinson's quote was comparable to others I'd received. We were disappointed with the how long it took in the end (32 weeks from paying the deposit to fitting the door), and our expectations were poorly managed when it came to the schedule. I would advise anyone ordering to be prepared for a long wait, and take any delivery time updates with a pinch of salt. If you're prepared to wait, you're unlikely to be disappointed. Hope our door looks and works as well as it does, for years to come.

We recently chose Hinsons to make a solid oak front door for us to replace a very faded PVC door. We found them easily using Google Maps and visited the showroom to see an example of their work, and instantly loved a door on display. The quality of the craftsmanship, the attention to detail with the finish and the quality door furniture made us want to have one made for us. The price is very competitive too, in fact a lot cheaper than a ‘timber’ (not solid oak) door from a well known nationwide window and door company. There were no compromises with our door and we got exactly what we wanted. The whole process is very straightforward and went smoothly for us and we were kept up to date with the door manufacture. We were even invited to view the door in the workshop a couple of days before fitting which was lovely to do. The fitting was expertly completed by two fitters, who were polite and swiftly installed the new door paying attention to the plaster repair around the door and the very neat mortar repair around the threshold outside. A first class job all around, and they had plenty of time to talk to us about adjusting the catch should we need to (wood will expand and contact very slightly) too. We’re over the moon with the door and wish we’d have done it ages ago, it really improves the visual appeal of the house (we have already had a compliment off our neighbour). We can thoroughly recommend Hinsons, we don’t have a single complaint.

We needed to change our windows in Newport Pagnell to comply with listed building regulations, and chose to use Hinson, based in Milton Keynes, who offered us the best price for the job. The product was to be of wood construction, with single glazed panes to match neighbouring windows. There was some delay in manufacture, due to a break-in at the workshop, but once this was sorted out, the windows were constructed and installed. Communication from Hinson was good, and when the day for installation came round, the installers arrived in good time, and made a very professional job of removing the old windows and installing the new. When the old windows were removed, a few problems with the existing lead work were discovered, which the installer pointed out, and we were able to resolve - much better than to hide the problem away and leave the potential for water ingress further down the line, so I was very happy with that. After installation, the listed buildings officer at the council has approved the windows as being compliant, so again I'm very happy with that.

We cannot praise enough the recent work carried out, the making and installation of 4 external doors and one double garage door. The doors are absolutely beautiful, made with exceptional craftsmanship. The installation was also extremely efficient and professionally done by a high skilled team. This is the third time we have had doors/windows made and fitted by this company.We have no hesitation at all in recommending them if you are after beautiful wooden doors and windows.

We are absolutely delighted with the new double-glazed windows made and installed for us by Hinson. As the house is listed the design requirements were very specific and we were quite anxious about the whole process, but Chris listened carefully and responded exactly to what we needed. Neighbours have commented that they "look exactly the same" which was what was required. Sean and Tebor took 2.5 days to remove the old windows and install the new ones, not a straightforward job due to the idiosyncrasies of an old property. They were professional throughout, clearly committed to producing excellent work, pleasant to deal with, efficient, tidy and quiet.

Hinson’s carried out this work during extremely difficult COVID restrictions. Very thorough and made sure every step was dealt with and double checked. A bespoke and complicated job well done. This company will gladly return and fix any adjustments needed, which is inevitable with the materials they work with. Very pleasant family firm to deal with who take pride in what they do. Highly recommended.

Hinson customer service is very poor I have emailed them half dozen times to tell them about our doorknob keep coming lose which turns out it’s not the right fitting. I was told it be sent out it’s been 2 months and nothing it’s like they are waiting for me to disappear the door frame has only have one coat paint on, all the paint is coming off where the other keys hits the door frame as opening, these people do not have any customers care at all. After you pay them they just don’t want to know.
