Required 14 Polycarbonate roofing panels replaced in conservatory roof with similar specification. Initial contact by phone/email sending images of work required followed by a visit to view access, discuss and agree a cost which was competative. Communcation from David was excellent throughout the process either via Text, email or calls as was punctuality arriving when promised and keeping me informed of delays (Due to weather). David and Adam work well as a team and obviously take a pride in their work, taking the time to do a good job, with attention to detail and again discussing the work with me on site. Area of work was left clean and tidy when completed. Impressed with a high standard and would highly recommend.

The time between our order and installation was remarkably short. The removal of the old panel and the installation of the new panel was carried out satisfactorily. The access was tricky but the three men manouevred the heavy panel very carefully. We are happy to have the window reinstated. I had to organise replacements for three 30-year-old sliding-door locks at a property in Bristol - but I live 350 miles away. I was very lucky to find David to sort this out for me. He responded promptly to my email, reassured me that he could do the work, tracked down suitable replacements and fitted them very quickly. This was a fairly urgent matter and could have been very difficult to deal with from so far away. It was so reassuring to realise I had found someone who knew what they were doing, and who kept me informed about what was going on. Despite having our boiler replaced by British Gas several years ago, our central heating system was getting progressively worse, and although British Gas service our system every year, they never really did much about it sorting out the problem. So we contacted House Doctors and David agreed to power flush our system. David was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of advice, and although our system was extremely clogged up (one of the worst David had seen) our central heating is now so much better. Some of our radiators hadn't been warm for years, and now they are all performing well! We would have no hesitation in recommending David and House Doctors!

Advised given size of door, best to replace existing hinges and add a fourth hinge. Additional hinge to top of door which takes majority of weight. Very good job, very happy with outcome. Very pleased I contacted David for several window repairs and glass replacements. He came out next day to the urgent one - a window I couldn't open or shut, and contacted me promptly to arrange the work on the others. The work was carried out in a professional and competent way - he was very knowledgeable and took care to explain everything. I had a PVC window that was stuck on the latch so would neither close or open. When I ‘phoned David he was very helpful, even giving me some advice on what I could do which might resolve the problem. I opted for him to call to fix things. Some days later David phoned me to make arrangements to call the next day. When he arrived he identified and fixed the problem without fuss. Having put up with low-pressure hot water for many years, David replaced the old system with a pressurised cylinder which has made a world of difference. I don't have to wait for ages for hot water to come out of my taps and my shower is as good as you find in hotels. While replacing the cylinder, David suggested I also pressurise my heating system, doing away with the open-air expansion tank. The cost for all the work was less than other quotes and for a larger cylinder. David patiently explained the benefit of his recommended changes but I never felt pressured to accept the changes. He is thorough in his work and comes when agreed. I would have no hesitation in recommending him.

To prepare for winter I wanted a power flush to a central heating system well over 30 years old, upgraded with a new boiler and thermostatic valves 10 years ago, but now known to be sludged up. In fact we found the system was on its last legs. David flushed the system and each individual radiator, working methodically to deal with various problems which showed up: un-sticking radiator valves and replacing a faulty one, clearing blockages, soldering a new radiator joint, replacing isolating valves which didn't work properly, getting a three port valve to work again and replacing a failing pump, as well as contacting the boiler manufacturer because despite annual servicing by British Gas it appeared to have overheated. Unusually high amounts of sludge and scale were removed. Six months on, the system remains fault free, the radiators have no cold spots, the pump is quieter, and the boiler provides the same heat on lower settings. A bigger job than either of us expected, but well worth it.

This included, replacing a kitchen tap, servicing my 9 year old boiler and my even older gas fire and replacing a cowl on my chimney to stop birds nesting and blocking the flue. I rang House Doctors after waiting 2 weeks for another Bristol based UPVC repair specialist to call me back and they never did. David returned my call within 5 minutes. 3 hours later my UPVC door problem was fixed, 15 mins after he arrived at my house. We had a problem where our central heating was not always working but the hot water was being heated. We called our usual heating engineer and replaced the heating room thermostat but this did not overcome the problem so suspected there may be a fault with the 3 way valve actuator. Called David of House Doctors for a second opinion and after investigating found the fault was with the central heating programmer. On the advice of David we now have a replacement which is much more efficient and provides better control of heating our living area. We also had the boiler serviced and will definitely be using David again.

It was a difficult job because I wanted to keep my overhead clothes dryer, which meant a small extension to one wall , an extra long tray and a screen instead of a door. David did this with the minimum fuss and disturbance. He explained and consulted me all the way, As I am elderly he suggested extra grab rails, and made sure they were a comfortable height for me. Safety was tested regularly as I am prone to tripping and falling. He also installed a small extractor fan to come on when water switched on and continue to extract moisture. I have had no condensation since. Every evening David cleared up and left the place fit for me to use. We had some delay caused by suppliers and he even fixed up a way I could wash my hair. He always arrived when he said he would and worked solidly through the day, not leaving until that day's work was complete. After completing the work he called back to see how it was going and make sure I was satisfied. I have been extremely pleased with my lovely shower and everyone who sees it is impressed. All at half the cost of ones I had researched from the brochures. I have no hesitation in highly recommending David Ward, and indeed have done so to friends, one of whom is very pleased with work he did for her,this time not a shower.

Most recently House Doctors stabilised a loose door frame for us. We have used them for a number of jobs. Fitting a downstairs sink, toilet & washing machine. Removing a large window to allow a sofa (too big for doorway) into the living room and they regularly service our gas boiler and one in a Let property we own. We are very pleased with the work, hence we keep using them!
