Ignite Property Group Limited are a property surveying company specialising in Snagging and Thermal Imaging Surveys on buildings.

Snagging surveys are for new build properties to identify the defects that the developer is responsible for correcting. All new build properties have a certain amount of snagging issues which makes our service so necessary. Our snagging surveys are carried out according to RPSA guidelines.

Thermal Imaging Surveys are used to detect areas of heat loss within houses. By identifying areas of heat loss, you can make necessary improvements to the thermal efficiency of your home in the most effective way. This could save you hundreds of pounds on your energy bills!

Cavity insulation extraction and refill

Jack, the surveyor, was polite and helpful. However, he was less than clear about the fact that the vast majority of the front elevation of our 3 bed detached house, being cladded ground to roof line, had no cavity wall for insulation to be extracted and refilled. The same applied to a short section of one of the side walls under 2 windows. In addition, an interior wall between the kitchen and a previously installed small utility room extension could not readily be checked for existing cavity insulation, so could not be extracted if necessary or refilled. These points could have been made clearer following the survey and in formulating the quotation for the work. The installers themselves appeared to be competent, kept to time, but were not particularly forthcoming.

Insightful thermal imaging survey

Jack at ignite provided us with an expertly constructed and clear report on where our new house was losing heat. Our property was constructed in 2021 (we took possession that June). It has wet underfloor heating throughout but we were surprised when we began to use an excessive amount of gas compared to previous homes. We expected that a newly constructed new home, with modern boiler and full consideration to latest insulation techniques, it would be very efficient to run. Unfortunately this did not prove the case. The thorough TIS highlighted problem areas throughout the house - gaps to or missing wall and ceiling insulation, sub-optimal seals around door and window frames and crucially, where the UFH system was underperforming. Jack's 12 page detailed report followed the afternoon of the survey and has provided us with a superb tool with which to approach our developer to correct the highlighted problems. As they say "pictures never lie" so I would advise any new home owner experiencing heating / insulation issues to undertake a TIS with Ignite. Excellent value too!

Jack arrived at the agreed time and undertook a professional, detailed survey. He was efficient, knowledgeable and approachable while patiently answering our questions. While with us, Jack explained clearly the items we need to fix to improve thermal efficiency, insulation and reduce cold draughts. We received his detailed but easy to read report with thermal image photographs the same day. We were very impressed. Look no further if you need a service like this. We consider it money well spent.

Jack arrived on time, he was polite and professional. The thermal imaging survey was completed quickly but thoroughly with Jack explaining the initial results as he went through the various rooms. The report then arrived a few hours later with honest advice on what was worth correcting, i.e. suggestions on what was actually worth correcting, so no suggestions of additional work unless it was 1) necessary and 2) would have a reasonable time period to see the return on investment. Would certainly recommend.

Jack from Ignite Property Group Ltd arrived on time and thoroughly checked out our new 3-bed detached home. On day one, we tried putting together a list with all the small/cosmetic issues, but seeing the report reinforced our belief that it is worth paying for a professional snagging survey, as it will save us time and money in the future (since the developer will need to rectify the issues now before they start causing problems down the line). The report was generated the same day, which was extremely helpful. I would recommend Jack and Ignite Property Group Ltd to anyone who wants an extensive snagging survey.
