About

In 1955, my father Herbert Barker founded H Barker & Son, a local building contractor based in Bury, Lancashire. At the age of 21, I became a partner in what has become a trusted, reliable business that has been established for over 50 years. Now known as J&C Barker Builders Ltd, the values of the business remain the same: choice, value & high quality workmanship you can depend on.

Based in Bury, Lancashire, I cover a radius of approx. 25-30 miles, and further depending on the nature/duration of the job.

We have had several jobs carried out by Jim over the last six months. The works included among other things:- Re-pointing, remedial to flashings and generally weatherproofing to a chimney stack; internal plastering works; refurbishment of the external cladding, barge boards etc. to a dormer window; take off and re-construct Rosemary tiled roof to large out house, replace barge and fascia boards and rainwater goods. We are always really satisfied with the end product and all aspects of the way the work is carried out. Jim is eminently reliable, trustworthy, punctual, informative, conscientious and diligent. He is highly recommended.
