At James Rae Plumbing and Heating, we take pride in the service we provide for our customers in Glasgow and the surrounding area. Our experienced team, competitive prices and trusted advice will help guide you through any heating project no matter what size.
We can offer you the whole package, from advice on what boiler suits your home and needs best, a quality installation, and great aftercare that includes at least a five-year warranty. Working only within Glasgow and the surrounding areas also means that we can be there if you need further help with your installation.
Glow-worm boilers suplied and fitted with a 10-year warranty.
Vaillant boilers supplied and fitted with a 10-year warranty.
Worcester boilers with up to 12 years guarantee.
We can fit any other boiler if you have a preference for another brand.
All our boilers come with a system flush, central heating filter, a programmable thermostat and a carbon monoxide alarm as standard.
All our new installation quotes are free of charge.

James fitted a boiler for my parents. He arrived when he said he would. He worked hard and was polite and tidy. He was helpful about explaining how to work the boiler and thermostat and said that we could phone him if there were any problems. Everything is working very well and the installation looks very tidy. I did not get a like for like quote, so am not certain if could have got the work done for less money. We are very happy with the outcome, and would definitely recommend this trader.

James was incredible from start to finish! In a lot of cases, as with ours, the boiler replacement was unexpected and we reached out to lots of companies for quotes. The price was very reasonable and James's expertise was far superior and he ensured for a smooth process and clearly explained what we need to do to maintain the guarantee on our boiler going forward. I couldn't recommend anyone more if you need a boiler replaced, and I am sure the service and friendliness would extend to any other work you need done!

Was recommended James by a friend, and needed a boiler service so sent him a text. Got a date and time organised quickly. I also asked if he could have a look at the wiring with my Hive thermostat, as this was not controlling the heating. Arrived on time, and completed the work quickly, after which I had a serviced boiler and a working hive thermostat! Very much recommended.

I contacted James to help with my central heating system, which had essentially stopped working. He was quick to respond and gave clear instructions on pricing and timescales. On arrival he completed the work in conjunction with discussing all options as it was a tricky heating system he was working with. James is a pleasure to deal with, is a real expert on heating systems and was able to resolve various problems with a boiler that previous plumbers had been unable fix. He also installed a new Hive control system which is great. I think it unlikely that you would find anyone better than him and would highly recommend him.

As James was a Which trusted trader, I contacted him (and others) to inquire about home boiler replacement. James was the first to respond. We arranged a meeting and he offered some advice and promptly provided quotes for 2 boilers. He always responds quickly to any communication. Today, ably assisted by Derek, he installed our new boiler. Both he and Derek turned up when he said they would, were very respectful of our home, removed our old boiler and all the packaging for the new boiler. Work was done to the schedule and the budget proposed. I am delighted that I listened to James' advice as he and Derek have provided a first class installation of our new boiler. I recommend them to all.

This the second time I have used James, this time to replace an old basic radiator with new vertical one. Each time James has done a great job. Responds promptly to any texts or emails, explains what needs to be done and turns up when he says he will. James, Derek and Henry all were courteous and respectful of our home and seem lovely guys. Contacted a few heating companies, James Rae Heating were the first to respond. Four days after making contact old boiler was removed and a new one fitted. No mighty sales pitch from James to purchase this one or that one as James advised, "they wouldn't fit a bad boiler". Would definitely recommend these guys. Great communication, turn up on time and great job done!

Fair price. Got me in their diary quickly and were responsive. The shining star moment is that I asked for work that they determined was not necessary (new bleed valves for radiators). Derek gave me the info I needed and a bleed key to use rather than charging me. That honesty and integrity is so important to me in any repair work. Further, Derek stayed to advise me on a few plumbing concerns I had that he could speak about. Great service. I will be using them over the summer to do some non urgent work!

I have just had nine new radiators fitted and I am absolutely delighted with the work James carried out. Arrived when they said they would and completed work on time. Apart from a little dust, you wouldn’t have known they had been in the house. Covered all areas they would be walking on and tidied all mess behind them. Extremely helpful with what we would need and nothing seemed to be too much trouble.
