Contacting, communicating, and booking with JB Plumbing and Heating was simple, quick, and painless. Special shout out to Sam for prompt responses to queries and clear help in providing pricing and other information. The boiler service was completed quickly and professionally, and the engineer was helpful, friendly, and professional both in manner and presentation. My only very slight gripe was that he was a little late on the morning, but even with that was well within the time set aside for the job, and everything was completed in time so there was no disruption to plans for the day. After having had some frustrations with other suppliers' communications or timekeeping, working with JB was a refreshing change. I would definitely recommend to anyone needing work done.

A company that fails to comply with the law

This trader, if things go wrong will play the blame game and ignore their responsibilities within the law. Engineer attended at the property to inspect combi boiler, engineer called the boiler manufacturer for advice and decided that boiler was repairable. The following day I agreed a price of £857 to fix. Engineer attended to fit new parts but the repair failed. The boiler acted in exactly the same way as it did prior to attempt repair For the following 3 days argued with this company but they refused to re attend (breach of Consumer Rights Act 2015 Sec 55) and firmly blamed the boiler manufactures advice. They left me with no hot water or heating in sub zero temperatures !!!!. It took me to threaten them with court action in order to get my £450 deposit back, bad diagnosis by their engineer and fitting of parts not needed. During email exchanges the parts were quoted as £267 which means that this company actually charges £200 + per hour for labour which is 2 x national average.

Hi, Thank you for your feedback, we always take any feedback on board but we do find there are some inaccuracies within your review. The boiler was repairable, we were told by the boiler manufacturer Ideal that it was and we quoted for what we were advised by Ideal. We were transparent and honest and advised it would be an expensive repair and advised you would be best to put the money towards a new boiler given its age. We understand why you went with the repair choice. The parts fitted were advised to be fitted by the manufacturer of the boiler from the technical helpline, they were on speaker when the engineer was going through the checks on the boiler and you were stood beside him. The repairs were carried out and did not work, we apologised, technical advice said they could be of no more assistance and to change the boiler as this was a rare case and was out of warranty so they couldn't assist. You requested we fit you a new boiler for the same cost as the repairs, so we refunded you. We provided you with a new quote for a boiler but you went elsewhere. We didn't leave you in sub zero temperatures, all of the issues were resolved within a day or so and you were refunded the amount you had paid. We are sorry you feel this way but we have resolved this in a professional manner.

I contacted this company last week obtained a quote and was surprised that they could do it this week and that it would only take a couple of days. I had by boiler changed to a combi boiler so all pipe work had to be removed plus pump for shower and new pipe work added to boiler. They have done a superb job and my house has never been so warm. True to their word it only took two days. I also had my radiators flushed and filter put on which protects the new boiler. I highly recommend this company.

We contacted JB Plumbing after weeks of frustration with two other plumbing companies who were struggling to investigate a suspected leak behind our radiator. The service we received from JB Plumbing was great from start to finish, they were very helpful on the phone and took the time to understand what we needed and to book a plumber to attend our property at a time that suited us. They also kept us informed when the plumber was running late on the day. The plumber who attended was very helpful and professional, he didn't waste any time and investigated the issue straight away, as opposed to the other two companies who we had worked with before. Unfortunately the plumber wasn't able to find the leak as it wasn't coming from a pipe, but he was very helfpul and took the time to explain everything to us in simple and clear terms, and provided us with advice on what we may want to do next to explore the issue further. He made sure to tidy up and clean everything up at the end, and we received an invoice with a report of the work carried out shortly after the visit. Although we couldn't get the issue fixed, we're still pleased with the service received and will likely work with JB Plumbing & Heating again in the future.

I made a request for someone to check if my boiler and sink were leaking, as my water bills kept going up. John was able to come out the next day (I thought that I might have to wait some time, so a next day appointment impressed me) and within half an hour he had identified a leak under my sink, AND in the boiler, and ALSO identified that the thermostats in my boiler were not working properly. He was extremely friendly and professional, and explained clearly in detail what the issues were and what he was going to do. Having diagnosed the issues, I was given a quote - which was exactly what I paid at the end of the job - no extras. Again, he was extremely friendly, thorough and professional. I know that this work will bring down my water bills by half, AND, unexpectedly, as the thermostats have also been replaced, my electricity bills will come down too! Cannot recommend highly enough - thank you John! Liz

Sent an email to JB plumbing and heating, they responded quickly, Sam in the office was lovely and communicated straight away, I explained my elderly uncle had a leak inside the house and was very worried. John the plumber arrived, was lovely and explained what had to be done and the price it would be. He solved the leak and cleaned up after himself. Would highly recommend this company. Thank you for putting my uncles mind at rest.

JB plumbing and heating installed two new radiators for me. I had had other traders tell me it would be difficult because I wanted one of them moved to another wall. John went to the trouble to explain what could be done, how it could be done and any further work that would be required. They ordered the radiators and did the work over the next couple of weeks. Everything was done to the agreed schedule and quote. Everybody involved was a pleasure to deal with and communication throughout was excellent. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

I noticed a leak a day or so before Christmas and needed an emergency plumber urgently. J B Plumbing were great. Sam in the office got back to me within an hour or so; and was happy to communicate by email which made things easy and smooth with no waiting on phones. A couple of hours later Danny the plumber arrived on schedule as promised. He identified the location of the problem fairly quickly, discussed options for access as it was located in a very difficult to reach area, and was happy to go with the option I chose. After the fix, Danny explained the problem, answered my questions and also pointed out some previously concealed and inaccessible shut off valves. He was friendly, efficient and did a clean neat job. Most of all, I had water over Christmas which was the best present I could have hoped for! Would use again and recommend. Thank you.

Replacement of leaky valve and associated pipework. John identified the problem on one day and fixed it the next. Emails from Sam with quotes, timings and being kept up to date on a slight delay in arrival, due to work on a prior job, were very useful. Couldn't wish for better!
