Called John to remove an old gas fire. He arrived promptly and unearthed some very dodgy and illegal connections, which he removed and showed to us. Very pleased with his work and will happily use him regularly for our annual boiler service too!

I just wanted to echo the other positive comments. I had a problem with my boiler and as it was the best part of 20 years old, I rang John effectively asking him to install a new one, as I assumed it wouldn't make sense to repair it. He put me right, explaining that the boiler was a good one and only needed a simple fix, which he carried out quickly. In other words, he could easily have agreed that I needed a new boiler and charged me more than a thousand quid to put one in. I wouldn't have argued. Instead, he advised me against that, and quickly fixed the problem -- and only charged charged a modest sum. If I have any other problems, he'll be the man I call. Matthew

My boiler broke down on New Years Day. John came out on the bank holiday Monday to take a look, diagnosed a faulty pump which he got started, but the boiler would not ignite. John advised a new boiler would be required given the age of the old one, but also honestly said that he would be too busy to help if I needed it quickly, so instead just gave me some advice. Since he couldn't fix the fault, he didn't charge a penny.

I didn't use John, but would like to recommend him because he returned my call and even though it became clear that he would not be getting my business (as I needed my boiler replacing before he was going to be free to do the work) he still discussed many important things with me and recommended somewhere to buy a boiler. I would definitely go to him on a future occasion.

I have been using John Creasey for about 4 years or so now and am always very happy with his work, rates and manner! Always very polite and accommodating he is a complete professional and I trust his judgement fully. Last week he fixed my boiler, replaced a part, did the safety check and reinstalled a thermostat quickly, explaining what needed to be done as he went along, with no mess left behind and at a very reasonable cost. Boiler is now working perfectly! I thoroughly recommend him.

If you like Which?, you'll like John - he tells me he's even appeared in the magazine! One of the good guys, John made a big effort to help us out and was very open and honest. He gave us plenty of information and advice in a way that came across as trustworthy and based on long experience.

John rescued us when our boiler was about to give up. John gave us open and honest advice, provided a full estimate of the extensive work required and was entirely open about the cost and extent of the work. The standard of his work was excellent. If only all craftsmen could be like him. I thoroughly recommend his services

Called John out to a small job of disconnecting an old gas fire to which he responded promptly and efficiently carried out the work. We subsequently talked about replacing old radiators (a new boiler had already been installed without replacing the rads a year earlier). John provided us with a fixed price quotation to do the work and completed a first rate job. There were several problems unearthed during the work relating to the original installation and also the boiler upgrade. John cured all these and although the job took longer than originally planned he did not seek to charge for the extra work done. A very professional job done by someone who we would describe as a perfectionist. As has been said elsewhere regarding John Creasey ..... we just wish we had found him sooner

Called John regarding a water leakage from our boiler. Came that day enough though he was busy. Found the problem and gave honest advice. He didn't have the correct part with him. Could of done a patch up job but instead left to source that correct part and do the job properly. John is a true professional. Easy to talk to and explains what he is doing in such a way, so you understand. He also gave non related advice regarding what should of happened when the boiler was originally installed. If there is one regret, it would be that i wished i had met him earlier.
