Kevin Spencer has been doing a full house renovation since June 2024 for us. It’s a small 1930s end of terrace that has been brought up to date. The work: He has lined, floored and insulated the loft, and put a bigger hatch and ladder up to it. He has dropped the chimneys out of the whole house, making four rooms square again and easier to use. New windows throughout plus front and back doors. This included bricking up a redundant window and cutting in another new one. Every skirting board and architrave replaced, and also new internal doors. This was done after extensive replastering. New wooden flooring throughout upstairs and downstairs, after pulling up the downstairs floor and insulating underneath thoroughly. He has fitted a really well resolved bathroom in a small space, having stripped out the previous botches. He removed the wall and inserted an RSJ between the small kitchen and pre-existing dining room. He has then fitted a smart Howdens kitchen. The work to date has been great value, he’s a really good person to have around, and he’s honest and open about the unfolding hurdles of doing a job like this. We will post another review in a couple of months time or so when he has finished the final round of work to the outside fabric of the building. I can only recommend Kevin Spencer: he is no-nonsense, great company, focused and takes pride in what he does. Isn’t this what we’re all looking for in trades people?
