Terry revamped and installed a completely new central heating system at my 4 bedroom house in Purley. He designed, project managed, and installed a new heat pump, wet central heating system, including underfloor heating and radiators. Terry did an absolutely brilliant job across the 2 month project. His communication was great and he was very considerate of the fact that we were still living in the house at the time of the works. It’s been a full year since the install and the system is operating very well. The house is warm and the hot water hot! Terry also came round recently to do the annual service on the heat pump so that we’re ready for the coming winter. I really couldn’t recommend Terry more highly - he’s brilliant.

I was introduced to Terry via HeatGeek for an ASHP install. It quickly became apparent, Terry was very knowledgeable. The heat loss survey and initial consultation took the best part of a morning compared to just over an hour from a national company. His attention to detail gave me lots of assurance, especially as I had micro bore pipework, which adds some complexity to the calculations. From the outset, he was clear, the 'quality of the job always came first'. When it came to the install, there were a number of upgrades he insisted on, which he explained, avoids foreseeable problems later on (for example a large upgraded valve to improve flow that has an integrated magnetic filter, in addition to the recommended magnetic filter) and all have proven their worth. I also insisted on some upgrades over and above what was required for the system to work (I swapped all the radiators in the house so they would match, instead of the 6 which were recommended). Through out, he was always on time, neat, tidy, a true professional, whose wealth of knowledge and expertise shone through and as a result, I could not be happier and the system works a treat. I would happily recommend Terry to you.

We engaged Terry to replace our 35 year old boiler with a new combi boiler. After surveying the existing system he made recommendations as to how he would install a boiler in way that would minimise stress on our old radiator circuit and lower the risk of problems developing. This set him apart from other companies that quoted for a standard installation. His quotation was competitive and reasonable considering what was involved. The work involved disconnecting and removing the cold water tank and hot water cylinder, pressure flushing the radiator system and fitting new thermostatic valves, and installing the new boiler with the necessary adjustments of the plumbing. He worked quickly and efficiently, clearly knowing exactly what he was doing and making a very neat job of all the new pipework. He took the trouble to explain everything he was doing and why. Friendly and unassuming, he was a pleasure to have pulling your house apart.

Terry recently did a very complicated installation of new boiler and hot tank for us. It was done to budget, and is simply immaculate: he sets himself highest standards of workmanship and only allows shortcuts if they make for a better installation. The work overran a bit but Terry stuck by his estimate, so no extra charges. The quality of the installation is absolutely superb: you could exhibit Terry’s pipework in Tate Modern. He arrived every day when he said he was going to, and was careful to explain what he was doing as the process unfolded. You might find cheaper out there, but you won’t find better.

We have a boiler in a flat we lease British gas had left inoperable. As the boiler was getting on we decided to replace. Terry did this for us economically and managed to schedule and complete the job 48 hours after his first visit. We were really impressed by his helpful attitude, speed of completion, communication, professionalism and price. We will be terminating our British Gas Contract and using Terry from now on, despite living away form London. Highly recommended.

Overall a satisfactory outcome because: When he arrived, on time. He showed great knowledge of our problem and was able to solve the problem, but suggested a new boiler be installed. We discussed it and decided to go with his suggestion. He ordered a new boiler and installed it after delivery. He worked slowly and carefully, when the work. was finished he explained the boiler instructions and details of the guarantee. He tidied up after completing the work and ensured the boiler was working correctly. He was smartly dressed, answered all the questions we asked and was polite throughout. He has contacted us twice to check all is performing well

Contacted Terry on 29 August. He arranged to survey a Vaillant Boiler and Megaflo installation which needed to be relocated 4 m away. Terry attended my property on 9 September. Terry said he didn’t like working on Megaflo’s and suggested a different manufacturer for the 2019 cylinder which has been hardly used. I refused. Chased Terry for the promised quote on 5 October, giving him the opportunity to say he was not interested in the work. He said he would look into it. No response since. Sharing this review to balance the glowing recommendations. Just as potential customers can be time wasters, tradesmen can definitely be just as discourteous.

Hi Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. Our customers opinion matters to us. Your feedback is not factually correct and I feel it right to respond, although we have not conducted business and merely had an informal chat. We do fit and work on Megaflo cylinders, the issue you had was that your boiler, cylinder had been badly installed and needed relocating to a new position due to the boiler flue length and angle of the flue installation not complying with regulations, along with various other regulation issues. The new proposed location did not have the required height to meet servicing clearances, as discussed an option of a smaller cylinder would solve this problem or a combination boiler as you had suggested which would have removed the cylinder As you have said you refused to take my advice and we do not carry out work that is not to standards. I do feel for you in that you have had very poor workmanship by others, failed building control inspections and had to pay for work to be carried out twice. I wish you well and hope your works are resolved.

When I first contacted Terry he was apologetic that he couldn’t come for a week but suggested another larger company who, unfortunately, had an even longer queue. When I went back to Terry he asked for photos of the problem (leaking flow rate valve for under floor heating system) which meant when he came he had the correct part to replace the leaking flow valve. As a result, when he came it was sorted out very quickly. There was also another fault on the boiler which stopped a final test of the system but Terry had a look at the boiler to see if it was a simple fault to fix which unfortunately it wasn’t and so had to wait for a technician to come under my service contract, but Terry left instructions on checking the valve was working properly. Overall Terry was very knowledgeable and very helpful and I shall be looking to using Terry for all my central heating service and maintenance in future, particularly as he readily deals with under floor heating unlike most service plans.

I have used Lambert Plumbing and Trading to install a Viessmann boiler 3/4 years ago. They came very highly recommended. They talked through my needs and requirements and installed a boiler with beautiful pipe work! They returned to service it last year and today came to fix a malfunction. Great communication, product knowledge and a genuine love for engineering and heating systems. I am out of town, they had to travel and stayed tirelessly to fix the problem. Terry Lambert, Plumbing and Heating Engineer is the most trustworthy, kind and diligent heating expert. Most gas engineers I had called out in the past said that the boiler was unfit for use and the 8 metre flue run an impossible job. Terry came round and went through all the options. He also fitted in the work between other jobs at the weekend. Now I have hot water and radiators that work. Terry Lambert is kind, quiet, hard working and the most dedicated workman I have come across. Book him and you will not regret it.

My mother's old boiler finally packed up - she had no heating and no hot water. I found Lambert Plumbing and Heating through Trusted Traders. Despite the busy time of year, Terry gave up his weekend to do a major installation at short notice and dealt capably with numerous challenges. (The old boiler was situated in a hugely inconvenient location, near the centre of a small block of flats with an 8m run to the outside wall and no flue inspection hatches). She now has a lovely new Worcester Bosch compact combination boiler installed in a different location. I'm very pleased with the service he provided and will not hesitate to recommend Terry to my friends and colleagues. Terry, thank you for looking after my mum so well.

i have had my boiler installed 10 years ago by Terry .It has been a difficult job with changing all the pipes from one side of the flat to the other and several other obstacles which made other teams to reject the job as too complicated. Terry not only didn't fear to take the job but he had finished it in 2 days . He is very knowledgeable, efficient, focused, and he works very tidy. I was so pleased with the way he works that i have never used anybody else to to look after my boiler since. He is very prompt with emergency situations and sometimes even gave me guidance over the phone for minor problems which he didn't need to attend. Highly recommended.

Terry was recommended by someone we knew. When our Worcester boiler was not keeping pressure and the radiators were all checked and ok for air, I didn’t know what was wrong, my usual plumber had turned off his phone. I contacted Terry and he was really approachable and helpful when I called and gave me pricing without even asking and said to text him with my details. After doing so he contacted me a few days later to arrange a date and came to do the boiler service. This was much needed, the unit was stripped and the leak found and part replaced, he showed me what he was doing and obviously is passionate about his work. The boiler was serviced and re pressurised and now works perfectly. He was very tidy and enjoyed having a chat as well. Would use his services again in an instant. Thanks so much- and I appreciate you also tightening my leaking outside tap- that was a great help so I can water the garden.

I have being using Terry for over 5 years to regularly service and repair my boiler. Initially, when I moved into my flat I went through a lot of different engineers, who either continually misdiagnosed or kept trying to get more money out of me, that is until I found Terry. He has been able to diagnose and repair my boiler when others have failed. He also charges a much more reasonable price to do so. Recently the boiler (this is an old boiler) has been playing up. So I contacted Terry to come take a look. He talked me through the issue and explained that the work would cost about half what a new boiler would set me back, but as the boiler was getting on and said he could not guarantee that something else would not go wrong. He explained that the new boiler would come with a guarantee. Terry kept in contact with me that day, discussed my options, requirements and various pricing and gave me a quote that afternoon, having had my parents boiler replaced last year, I can say it was very fair. Due to where the old boiler was seated I want the new one is a slightly different location, which involved moving a cupboard. Terry arranged for the cupboard to be taken down and put back up in the new position and because he had taken the time to identify what I wanted, this was all covered by the original quote, no additional/hidden charges. I will continue to use Terry and am happy to recommend him.

Terry recommended a replacement during a recent annual service for my old combi boiler, which was identified to have been leaking through the heat exchanger. He didn't charge for the annual service and suggested a like-for-like replacement rather than upselling and provided a quote for pretty promptly and was patient in explaining different options for accessories. He was punctual on the day and clearly explained the steps he was going to take. As he was mixing pointing for the external wall he was even kind enough to fix the pointing above my bedroom window. After the installation I found an issue with the filling loop repressuring the boiler excessively. It was unconnected to the installation but Terry followed up on the phone and came out in person to check the issue for me in any case. I am pleased with his dedication to a providing a quality service. Would recommend him if you're after a knowledgeable and reliable tradesman.
