When one of our spare key snapped inside the lock of our UPVc front door, we called Chris after finding his details online - he was on site within half an hour and had the key out within 10 minutes. I door knob had come apart and it was very important that it was mended as it matched other knobs in the room. I was not sure it could be mended but as I had used "Lock around the Clock" before I telephoned them yesterday. Very prompt service today having told me that they would call between 10am and 12 midday, they telephoned to say when they would be arriving. I called Lock around the Clock based on a recommendation I'd received from someone else. I had a problem with my front door lock (key was spinning in the barrel and not engaging the lock) and also my garage door lock (couldn't put the key in). They arrived at the time they said they would and phoned 30 minutes beforehand to let me know. They initially thought they'd need to replace the barrel in the lock but when they disassembled the lock, they discovered some screws were loose and were able to resolve my problem without any new parts which was the preferred option for me. They also quickly fixed my garage door lock and told me how to prevent that issue in future. They were courteous and professional and their labour charge was very reasonable indeed. I have no hestiation in recommending them.

I called Chris to ask him to fit a new front door lock which I have purchased myself on Friday to comply with my house insurance. I looked to fit it myself but found the lock was much too complicated for me to fit and decided to call Chris. Chris answered my call straight away and told me that he would try and fit me in later that day. He called me later on Friday afternoon to say he was on his way. An external door was stuck in the locked position, the key wouldn't turn and the handle did not work. I rang up at 2.30 pm on the 4th and he arrived at about 3.30 having rung 20 minutes before to say when he would arrive. He immediately got the door open and took out the mechanism and replaced the gearbox, reassembled and made some adjustment - job done! Very impressed with his skill and the speed that he did the job. He left everything clean and tidy. I would recommend him to anyone. First class.

I called this trader to fix the lock on my front door of my new house and change the door handle. Happening to be round the corner on another job he was able to come within 20 minutes of the call (I hadn't been expecting anything to happen till next week as it wasn't an emergency.) Chris and his colleague were very polite, courteous, profesional and knowledgeable. He didn't try to get me to pay for an expensive lock change - he was able to tell quickly that all that needed doing was to re-align the existing lock, and at my request he changed the door handles so that the opening/closing process was easier. He was also able to fix a window in the conservatory that had got stuck with minimum fuss. Chris knows his trade in expert manner, and the charge for his work was very reasonable. So I then called Lock around the clock and I spoke to a lovely man called Chris. We arranged a time for him to come up and he arrived on time calling to say he had arrived. He came with a guy called George they took one look at it and changed the lock straight away. My mum's door didn’t shut properly and they sorted that out as well. I thought their pricing was excellent. Both Chris and George were very polite and professional. I would certainly use this company again and tell all my friends about them. They get 10 stars from me.

I called Chris Cavanah to unlock an old-cottage exterior door that had not been opened for 16 years. After doing his locksmith work, an unexpected second problem occurred as the old wooden door was jammed so tight it was very difficult to open/close. Chris went the extra mile and used his electric wood planner to shave off the wooden door stile so that his new lock could be fitted properly and the door now moves much more freely. Also prompt service, good phone communications, good hourly labour rates, good price for a new 5-lever door lock and friendly service. Final tip:- Always keep your locksmith's phone number in your wallet/purse: it's no use inside if you're locked out and can't get into the house!

I arrived home about seven PM on the fifteenth of January. I opened and closed the front door but was unable to open it again. I phoned Lock Around The Clock, who advised he could come out to us to access the damage within half an hour, which we thought was superb given it was a Saturday evening. Chris quickly located the problem having opened the door and advised us of our options and cost. We decided to have new parts and Chris replaced the front door gearbox for what we believe was a fair and very reasonable price. The work was completed within forty five minutes with no mess or damage to the door(you wouldn't even know that he had been). Had problems with front door (composite) jamming on occasion. Tried silicone spray without success. Saw advert in local Living magazine for Lock Around the Clock based in Hemel so rang Chris who came shortly after. He refixed bottom hook to mechanism which had become detatched and tightened screws. George of "Lock around the Clock" visited our house today to change the mortice lock on our front door and see what could be done about a problem we had with the lock on a double glazed window in our bedroom. He arrived at the agreed time and was very personable. He looked at the mortice lock and found that it was not the lock that was faulty but the key had been slightly damaged. As a result, he did not change the lock but I need to buy a new key! With regards to the bedroom window, he found that the handle was not working properly, so changed that. This came with a new lock, of course. George was very professional and extremely efficient.

The work involved unjamming and cleaning the multiple locking bolts on a PVC external door. The response was within a few hours at a most convenient time. The problem was assessed quickly and the possible costs outlined. In the event no replacement was necessary, only cleaning and refitting which was all completed within half an hour. I called this company because my front door lock was becoming difficult to open sometimes, and not always latching properly on closing. They came and assessed the problem, adjusted the lock to my satisfaction, then offered to 'unstick' my wooden porch door which had swollen in recent wet weather, which was a great help to me, and done without extra payment. Called the trader to fix a UPVC door which had jammed shut. They got the door open and adjusted the lock/ door so it now works perfectly. All completed in 30-45 minutes. They were courteous and polite, explained what they were going to do and cleaned up afterwards. The charge was very reasonable, and I would happily recommend them .

This local trader was able to resolve my malfunctioning front door handle the same day I called. He and his son, a good team, were able to resolve the problem, and replace the handle, ensuring it was working properly for all functions of the opening, closing and locking of the door. They had a replacement handle on the van, so there was no interval between identifying the problem and sorting it. They were tidy and cleaned the door of any finger marks; they were cheerful, professional and polite. They were recommended by a neighbour and I would recommend their services to anyone. I did not enquire about actual likely cost when I called, but did enquire whether the overall cost would include VAT (it did not). Their advert in the local neighbourhood magazine stated there is no call out charge, so I anticipated having to pay labour and parts. I assumed that they would not be able to give me a quote until they knew what the issues were. I was satisfied that the charge was proportionate for the task, and very relieved to have had the malfunction remedied.

I called Lock Around the Clock at 08.45hrs on Friday morning and they (Chris and George - father and son team) were with me by 11.20 hrs. Their approach to my request for help was calm and reassuring and this carried through when they arrived. The back door locking mechanism had sheared off and left me with a door that would not open. This was sorted within 40 mins and they were able to use existing parts which kept the cost down. A good experience, and a business I'm happy to recommend.
