James from Lucas Plumbing arrived at my house very quickly after a 9am call to the office from myself after having spent 4 days without any heating or hot water due to my boiler being regularly tripped. Over those days five different engineers came to my house and finally the last one on Sunday isolated the problem to a thermostat. James came into the house this cold Monday morning and confirmed that analysis and because he is an underfloor heating specialist he was able very quickly and efficiently fine-tune that confirmation to the cable on the actuators. So within the hour he had fixed the problem and now I have the boiler up and running beautifully! This is the second time I have used Lucas Plumbing and I cannot praise the company and their specialist engineers highly enough.

I had a leaking valve in the pipe which feeds water from the header tank in the loft to the hot water tank. Phoned Lucas Plumbing (having used them before on an unrelated problem). James arrived next day at the arranged time and fixed the problem very well - replaced the old valve with a new and better one on the spot. He is obviously a very competent plumber.

I have used Lucas Plumbing and heating for many years and would highly recommend them. They are always on time, efficient, helpful and friendly. Lucas have always bent over backwards to be helpful and always give good service and advice. I always give their number if asked for heating engineers or plumbers.

Having had a water pump suddenly fail leaving us with no hot water in the household, Lucas Plumbing (and in particular Scott) were truly outstanding in fitting a replacement pump within 3 hours of us calling their team. Extremely empathetic on the phone with a clear willingness to try and help us get an appointment almost immediately. Plumber Scott replaced the pump 3 hours after our call on a Friday evening after hours. Truly exceptional customer service and service with a smile that went above and beyond. Our boiler in recent years has been looked after a different Company, on an annual contract, which included a “service”. When they last visited the engineer was here for SEVEN minutes. I cancelled the contract. Purely by good chance I called Lucas. So glad I did. Lucas are very professional, high standards of work, and communication is brilliant. I made a great choice (luckily) The boiler is now working more efficiently and hopefully economically, time will tell. I will be sticking with Lucas.

Scott from Lucas Plumbing and Heating visited today to repair a bath and shower mixer and waste. It is so refreshing to deal with a tradesperson and company who are not intimidating or pushy. Highly recommend the company and Scott. Great workmanship, manner and left the space incredibly tidy. Very knowledgable too.

When my heating system failed, I contacted Lucas Plumbing after another plumber had diagnosed a faulty motorised valve but could not complete the repair soon. Lucas Plumbing requested valve details and sent an engineer, who charged for attending but only to confirm the issue—not to carry out the repair. They then provided a quote for the repair, stating that the whole system needed complete draining, and declined to break down their quote into labour and material costs. I engaged another plumber who completed the job for about 40% less and only needed to partially drain the system. My complaint to Lucas Plumbing did not resolve my concerns, and their reply included the sentence, “Please don't feel the need to use us again

The boiler installation was installed on time and on budget. Scott, the engineer was so helpful and patient. He explained everything he was doing. He was so polite and answered any questions we had. He did a very neat job, and left everything tidy and clean. We cannot recommend Lucas Plumbing enough. We found them through word of mouth from a friend who had used them. We have been using them for 4-years now and they never disappoint. They are our "go-to" plumbers. So glad we found them.

Easy to book. Clear appointment process. Good investigation and fitting work. Never tries to over sell you.

Could not have been better

Lucas serviced my boiler and did a couple of small plumbing jobs (mending a tap and a leaking toilet) for me. Done bang on time and all left clean and tidy.

Concern about possible leaking fuel line. Immediate response and outstanding customer service. Problem resolved quickly and efficiently by experts in their field.

Easy communication with the office, Scott arrived on time, was tidy, explained the job and completed the job on time. Would recommend.

The work was carried out on the day promised and completed on the same day. Their engineers havve always been very good and I have never had a problem.

I have used Lucas Plumbing for a number of years. Their engineers are always helpful, knowledgeable and honest.

The annual service of 10 year old Vaillant boiler identified 2 problems. A visit was arranged within a few days and done. Efficient organisation and helpful work. House nice and warm.

I was told (in writing) that the engineer would attend "to complete your work on 14/11 between 12:00 and 16:00. Nobody arrived, so I phoned at about 16:30 to find out what was happening. The person I spoke to was very apologetic but set a new time of Monday 17/11 between 08:00 and 09:00. The engineer did turn up at that time and did a good job - only took about 10 minutes maximum. The email I received when the job was first instigated (07/11) states as follows :- Cancellation Policy - Lucas Plumbing and Heating Ltd "Please note that once you have booked an appointment it means that we have reserved time in our schedule exclusively for you. If you cancel your appointment less than 24 hours before it is scheduled to take place you will be subject to a cancellation fee of £84.00 inc VAT " Lucas may wish to change this wording on reflection.

I recently had Lucas Heating & Plumbing in to carry out an annual boiler service and to provide quotes for some additional small works. These tasks were completed to a high standard, the quote resulting in a later visit to replace a faulty 3 port valve. Again, all work was done speedily & efficiently; I find Lucas engineers to be always polite, very capable and have no hesitation in recommending this company. Communications from Ciaran were excellent and a very minor issue arising from the boiler service was speedily resolved.

Jake was great. He worked out the issue very quickly and also noticed a secondary issue which was driving me nuts at the same time. We ended up simplifying things a lot with our underfloor heating control unit and also installing another valve to stop the underfloor heating activating the radiators too (secondary issue). All in all very happy with diagnosis and the remedial actions. We did have a small blip where the replacement unit was faulty, but this was resolved very quickly too. I would highly recommend Jake and the team at Lucas Plumbing & Heating.

We do not have the competency to comment on the quality of the workmanship only time will inform us on this element. However the representative was at pains to ensure we knew he was behind schedule and unfortunately left the front grill off the fire nor clean marks he probably accidentally made on the landing and stairway walls. Furthermore he promised to look at radiators which varied in heat but that was forgotten. He did return to a fix the grill and left hurriedly with head bowed. He was apparently still behind schedule. We cannot doubt his competency or workmanship but the company would benefit if they introduce some form of training in customer care and awareness. Regretfully common courtesy and politeness was not evident
