I found Lucas Plumbing & Heating to be highly unprofessional. Recently they carried out annual boiler service and reported gas under pressure problem : (i.e implying either gas leak or undersized pipes by the original installer). The original installer came from Eastleigh to Wokingham the very next day for investigation and found that Lucus Engineer had taken the gas readings incorrectly(the actual working pressure difference between meter and boiler was 0.3 mb and not 3.5 mb as reported by Lucus ), causing unnecessary panic. On top of that Lucus rejected paying the original installer for the inconvenience . I would definitely avoid this company in the future.

I'm disappointed to have to write this review as have used this company many times, previously having received good customer. However, things have obviously changed I have received appalling customer service, the job wasn't fixed - short term solutions put in place so the property required several call outs. The lady in the office was happy to lose my custom even though I'm a regular customer for several properties and there's not been an issue in the past, just about says everything when a company no longer cares about its customers.

We found ourselves without heating or hot water early in April this year. Also discovered the immersion hot water heater had also packed up. Had a promising start with Lucas plumbing with a quick initial response. But after the initial visits to fix the immersion heater, it was a nightmare. All in all, Lucas plumbing replaced the pump assembly, pressure sensor, relief valve assembly, expansion vessel, a full time consuming flush of the whole system and it still didn’t work. Engineers were great but were very poorly supported by the administrators and management. For some reason, the owner wouldn’t talk to me but preferred to relay messages via a poorly trained administrator even when he himself was in the office. They are too keen to say that new boiler is the solution and also promoting ATAG boilers that no one else has heard of or support. Eventually, I got ideal boilers out who identified the problem as a new heat exchanger and since then the boilers worked. I still had to chase Lucas plumbing to finish balancing the radiators and eventually an engineer turned up in July but never properly completed that element either. I gave up by then and I got another company to balance the system when the boiler was serviced by them last month.

A water leak through ceiling light fitting and Lucas Plumbing & Heating attended first on 11/2/25 but still leaking afterwards after some remedial works, then further visit on 17/2/25 report said it was believed to be "user error" when using the shower. I advised that the issue was pipe work to the shower but was dismissed by plumber in attendance. On the fourth visit another plumber found the problem as I had said and on the fifth visit on 11/03/25 the leaking push fitting replaced with new copper fittings. meanwhile the ceiling damage has become worse and need to be replastered. Invoice received for first visit and paid. Second invoice for visit not paid. Third invoice received covering final completed work. We have used the company for many jobs in the past and we have had no problems.

We do not have the competency to comment on the quality of the workmanship only time will inform us on this element. However the representative was at pains to ensure we knew he was behind schedule and unfortunately left the front grill off the fire nor clean marks he probably accidentally made on the landing and stairway walls. Furthermore he promised to look at radiators which varied in heat but that was forgotten. He did return to a fix the grill and left hurriedly with head bowed. He was apparently still behind schedule. We cannot doubt his competency or workmanship but the company would benefit if they introduce some form of training in customer care and awareness. Regretfully common courtesy and politeness was not evident

The boiler service was undertaken in the usual prompt, efficient and friendly manner one has come to expect from the Lucas team. The service is unobtrusive and the standard of workmanship is high. My utility room was left clean and tidy when the staff departed.

Lucas were recommended by friends of ours, who had used them previously. From our initial contact the process was smooth and enjoyable. The supervisor who arrived for the reccy was polite and affable and very helpful around explaining the nature of the situation. On the day the plumbers were super polite and professional throughout the process. They managed to get everything done successfully and in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend Lucas Plumbing to anyone who needs major or minor works.

The job was to stop a leak from the side shower on the bath. After the initial call out, the engineer ordered a new part. When the part arrived, it was it was the wrong one. So another was ordered and installed, but the leak continued and the tap worked in the opposite way, so turning on the tap produced a shower unexpectedly. Finally another engineer ordered another part and fitted it and it now works beautifully.
