We have been established for 15 years, just recently setting the company up with limited liability [LTD]. We have 35 years of experience within the electrical industry, and an approved member of the NICEIC, which trusted trader and, trustatrader.com. so you can be assured you are in safe hands with MBM.

We offer our services at cost effective rates and always remain flexible to suit your needs, we always quote for jobs in advance and there are no hidden extras or charges, therefore delivering transparency at all times with costs. We constantly retrain our engineers to keep up with all the latest up to date wiring standards, ensuring all work is carried out in a safe and professional manner.

We had MBM services to carry out a full rewire of the house. I have not encountered any problems with the team. Mitchell (Martin’s son) was quite courteous and professional in his work. However, it was difficult to deal with Martin once the job had been part completed but we had paid the money in full. MBM installed white switches and sockets confirming they would come and replace the plastic sockets to chrome plated after the building work had been completed. At this point, we had no reason not to believe MBM as we were happy with what they had done. But when we went to the house after a few days, we found out that the door contact for the alarm had been removed without our permission, the doorbell wasn’t working. I had a shaver socket in the bathroom which I was quite keen to keep but that was taken out. Upon asking Martin about it, he said “I forgot to mention if we left it there the certificate is only valid for 5 years otherwise it’s 10 years”. This was not something that was communicated to me when we were discussing the job. We then discovered an old light switch which hadn’t been taken out, so we asked Martin and he said, “that must have been overlooked”. I then got in touch with Martin, to arrange a date for him to come and changeover the sockets. The first response I got was there would be a wait of 3-4 weeks and then Martin was on annual leave. We contacted again and Martin mentioned he’s on his annual leave. A week later when I prompted Martin again as it was getting quite frustrating, I got a message back saying its best I hire another electrician, or there would be additional charges if MBM came back. When the other electrician came over to have a look, we found out that MBM did not account for the dimmer switches in any of the bedrooms, and now I have spotlights which are being controlled by a normal switch. We have wasted dimmers and the reason for installing the spotlights was to have them dimmable. As the job was still incomplete, I had to get another electrician and paid them £350 to complete the job MBM should have. I wouldn’t recommend MBM to anyone, or if you do hire them, do not pay them the full amount until the work is fully completed. Just to point out, we have previously used MBM to carry out some work at another property and had left a 10/10 review. However, because of what’s happened will not be using them again.
