Mark came round to rewire our central heating controls and fit a Hive system. Whilst completing the work he noticed a problem with our Hot Water thermostat and replaced it for us. All his work was within the budget he quoted and he did not charge us anymore labour to resolve any of the extra issues. Our Heating is now working better than ever before we are so pleased with his work and he is a really nice guy too!! Would highly recommend.

Mark replaced our old boiler with a combi boiler. He did the job without a lot less fuss than we anticipated, no seeming problems and every thing was done professionally and very neatly. Mark Hopkinson gave us a competitive quote, and importantly completed the job very neatly indeed (important as the new boiler would be installed in a newly refurbished Utility Room, and we did not want brand new surfaces etc to be damaged). Gas boiler replaced at agreed time and within agreed budget. The reason I used Mark was because I knew that the work would fully comply with legal and trade requirements and be done to exacting standards. Eg:- spacing between pipe brackets is uniform. When Mark came to estimate the work needed he went into great detail as to what to expect on the days when the work would take place. He answered all of our concerns. When he started the work he was methodical and assured as to what was being done. It's not a clean job replacing a boiler but he kept the mess to a minimum. He said that a further part of work may be required relating to the gas supply pressure. He quoted that work seperately but as it turned out that work was not required. All the work was done more or less on schedule (by 1 additional day) but the quote there were no additional costs. Mark is an excellent and conscientious worker and I would not hesitate to recommend him for any work in this area.

I would not hesitate to wholeheartedly recommend Mark Hopkinson. He quoted for a power flush , fit one radiator, a change in a radiator pipe work and convert my heating to a closed system. He was professional and efficient. He worked methodically and completed the work with minimum fuss, mess and intrusion. As with all things, other issues cropped up and we had to change another radiator and add three bleed valves. Additionally he also went to my mothers house and a changed two port valve

Called Mark on a recommendation from a friend when my hot water started playing up (very low flow). Mark was prompt and professional and when later that day an additional issue occurred (which was only noticed once other was repaired), a quick call was all it took for Mark to finish his current job and come back to our boiler, diagnose the fault and source and fit the part that day. Mark has regularly serviced our boiler and central heating system for a number of years and recently installed a new boiler for us. Yesterday, we had an emergency (unrelated) problem and Mark gave advice over the phone and arrived to assess the situation first thing this morning before returning to fix the problem once he had bought the appropriate parts. We are very grateful for his prompt, efficient service and excellent knowledge and skill.

Mark did what was agreed in his quote and to the price quoted. The power flush was quite prolonged due to the large amount ogf "rubbish" accumulated in the radiators, (witness all the large cold areas in the radiators) due to the previous house owners neglecting system maintenance and took a considerable time to clear. He was considerate at all times explaining everything needing to be done and kept to the quoted price. He was helpful and communicative all through the process. Nothing went wrong and the indication is that the system should work so much more efficiently in future having cleared cold areas in the radiators. The heating has not been used yet as the weather is too warm but the improvement should be very noticeable. I intend to let Mark know this when the time comes. No mess was left (Mark used adequate floor protection to avoid any mess).

My boiler needed a new pressure relief valve, pressure vessel and pressure gauge. I found Mark via this website and had a good experience. In all my communications with Mark he was polite, friendly and helpful. His replies were prompt and his explanations clear. He kept his appointments and arrived when he said he would. If there were any changes of plan he let me know. He worked quietly and without fuss and did not leave a mess. I was happy with his price and will definitely call Mark again for future work. Overall I am very pleased.

Mark came to repair a heating pump valve leak, and carry out a boiler service, he carried out the repair quickly and efficiently- and also went to get a new heating pump after he found a valve seized on the old pump, he provided one valve for no extra charge, he has a positive attitude and brilliant customer service provided. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Mark was unable to spend as much time on the installation initially as he would have liked, but after resolving his workload, he installed the new boiler to a very high standard and we could not fault his workmanship. His cheery nature and 'can do' attitude was so refreshing, and he did everything possible to accommodate or requirements. The budget was kept to, with no hidden surprises, and everything regarding costs was fully explained prior to the work commencing. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mark as he is an extremely competent Gas and Heating Engineer, and in fact we have pencilled him in for our first boiler service when it is due.

Mark provided a very competitive quote to replace our 18-year-old Glowworm boiler and instal a Worcester Bosch boiler, a new pump and valves. The work was completed to a very good standard and the system has run perfectly since. Although the job took a bit longer than expected due to some unforeseen complications, he kept to the original price and even provided an electrician to tidy up the wiring at no cost to us. He was polite and took the trouble to explain the work as he went along. I would definitely recommend.

Our boiler failed and needs replacement. While Mark was fully booked and could not fit a replacement boiler for us this year, he kindly spent time on the telephone remotely diagnosing the problem so we could get our boiler working again. Mark was called because our mother had no hot water or heating because her boiler and programmer were not working. Mark visited at short notice despite working on another job. He diagnosed the problem and got the water working before coming back 2 days later to fit a new programmer and service the boiler as requested. Mark provided great service and value for money. Following 3 above my RFQ was updated and he responded well to my required revisions some at zero cost and one (power flushing) at an acceptable cost. 5. The installation was carried out well despite some difficult work in restricted loft space, albeit taking slightly longer at 4 days than anticipated. Communication throughout was first class. He also offered the first annual service at zero cost. Will definitely use again.

Mark installed a new boiler for me. Everything from his initial visit to the quotation and subsequent installation was clearly explained, and questions and queries I had were quickly answered. I found Mark to be very pleasant and courteous, and he just efficiently got on with the job. Also, despite an unforeseen problem (with some pipework behind a plasterboard wall) Mark quickly dealt with it and kept to the original quotation. I invited a number of quotes for a new replacement system boiler complete with smart thermostat. Mark was one who quoted and was competative as he is a sole trader and therefor VAT exempt on his turnover. We agreed a start date and payment terms and he duly arrived on the agreed date. The old boiler (some 40 plus years) was an old cast iron unit and very heavy located in a cupboard on the landing. He enlisted the help of a friend to remove it successfully. He organised scaffolding to access the outside roof to install the new flue and removed the old steel flue system. The new boiler was installed with neater pipework and the boiler condensate routed to the outside via a pump as the boiler is not on an outside wall. The smart thermostat was one he had not used before and it gave him some headscratching but he persevered and with the help of a friend had the unit working OK. The installation took a day longer than estimated but the end result was totally satisfactory. If you want a plumber that you can rely upon to do a good job in a friendly manner and explain all that he is doing then Mark is your man to employ.

I recently moved into my house and was confronted with a new boiler that needed to be connected to a smart app to work. Not helpful as it took 2 weeks to get an internet connection and I also have personal experience of this heating app and didn’t want it again. I found Mark through a local news magazine and rang him requesting a female friendly control panel. After the initial visit to assess the job he duly disconnected the existing system and installed a very female friendly control panel which I am very happy with. He also cleared the airlock in the water pipes... job done! I found Mark to be friendly and helpful and would definitely call upon him again in the future

Mark has just fitted a new Worcester 38CDI combi-boiler into our home and a very professional installation was carried out on time, at a very competitive price. He was very helpful when quoting, recommending types of boiler and explained in detail what work was involved in removing old and installing new. Mark fitted a new combi-boiler in my mums house. He gave her a fully detailed summary of all work to be undertaken, estimated price and the timeframe the work would take to complete prior to the job. Mark came highly recommended from a friend in the gas fitting business and carried out a from scratch, full central heating installation in a 1930s 3 bed semi between 30th October -10th November 2017. He met with us, surveyed the house and made a recommendation for a system based on his extensive knowledge and experience. The Worcester Bosch 36CDI is a superb combi which we're very happy with. Quiet in operation and speedy in response it more than meets our needs. Having a full installation is quite a disruptive job with floors up etc but with Mark advising which room he was going to work on in advance, made living in the house whilst the work progressed, bearable. Mark took great care throughout the installation and always consulted on key decisions e.g. Position of radiators, flue etc. He kept us fully informed throughout the installation and was always friendly and reliable. I wanted to have a gas safety check carried out on a house I am buying and I had called a few other companies, one of which tried to sell me something I didn't need! Mark kindly came round promptly one evening when I thought I had a gas leak via my gas hob. Mark came well equipped to test whether there was a leak and kindly put my mind a rest. A week later after I purchase my new gas hob Mark came round and installed it. His workmanship is very neat and he even showed me some of the safety features on the new hob.
