About

Richard himself has worked in the glass and glazing industry for nearly 20 years and the wealth of knowledge and experience he has acquired over this time, including working for the English Heritage, Breweries, Stockport Council and Granada Studios to name a few, has gained him recognition locally as one of the most competent and reliable glaziers in the business, and in 2014 we were very proud to be awarded the title of Which Trusted Trader.

No job is too big or too small from large commercial properties to domestic glazing, window installation and repairs. This, combined with his strive for perfection, a genuine desire to provide real customer satisfaction and fully guaranteed products, always results in him being able to offer a first class service at very competitive prices.

Based in Marple, Stockport we usually work in and around the Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cheshire areas however we are happy to travel nationwide if required.

Called Richard to price up the replacement of some failed double glazing units - one very large, and one in a high up, difficult to access window. Initial impressions were of a friendly and professional tradesman, who was flexible with times and came round quickly at the pre-arranged time to measure up. Fully COVID compliant in terms of work practices. Price was good, glass ordered and work carried out to a very high standard. Property left tidy and a proper invoice provided with all details of work carried out. Friendly local trade and I will be using again for all future glazing needs.

Our house has aluminium glazing as a feature. Trying to find tradesmen to tackle repairs can be difficult. I decided to try a Which? trusted trader and found Marple Glass - a local firm. What a lovely surprise! Every other business had tried to persuade us to abandon the feature glazing and go for something different, but Richard immediately apologised that he couldn't give me an exact date because he would have to contact a friend who specialised in aluminium windows. He asked lots of questions about the system, took exact measurements and agreed that all nine panes needed replacing. Then Covid struck ... As the year wore on, we couldn't face a winter of mopping up the rain which cascaded in and one pane was filling with water! To cut a long story short, he had the new glass ready and came, with his colleague, to replace all the south-facing glass. It took them all day, but the result is brilliant! (And the account was reasonable).

I used Marple Glass & Glazing to replace a window and to repair a wooden frame for another window. Richard was reliable and always on time. If he was going to be running late he always informed me. He was informative, punctual. Overall his work was excellent.
