Mel's Computer Care rescued data from our banjaxed PC, and transferred it to a new machine, which they installed for us. The whole process, from initial visit to completed installation, was carried out promptly and efficiently and with great professionalism. Mel and Paul were friendly and approachable, easing us into the Windows 10 OS and providing much useful guidance along the way.

Mel and his staff are unfailingly courteous and friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. It is a pleasure to visit the shop! However, and more importantly, they are all ready to go the extra mile to help. An example of this occurred just before Christmas 2024, when my husband’s elderly phone went completely dead shortly before his admission to hospital. Although their main concern is with computers, Mel and his team sourced, bought, and set up a new phone for him, brought it to the house, and phoned the following day to ensure that there were no problems. This kindness made a difficult time so much easier! More recently, Towie has spent much time on the phone, successfully helping me to combat a printer problem, and Alina visited to deal, again successfully , with a practical difficulty. Thank you all SO much! I can’t recommend Mel’s Computer Centre too highly!

I have been using Mel's Computer Care for a number of years and that says a lot. They are a reliable, friendly bunch of computer nerds who do go that extra mile to sort out issues, provide new hardware, install software : in other words they do the lot. I've found their prices quite reasonable and when all is said and done a firm that does the job with the minimum of fuss and at low cost, well you can understand why I have been using them for years.

After reaching out for (home) PC support over many years, Mel’s Computer Care remains my first and only ‘go to’ for help whenever I feel out of my depth with some aspect of (ever-changing) I.T. technology. Whether my enquiries have necessitated on-site support or remote log-in, Mel’s support in the past has ranged from whole PC upgrades and replacements of failing hard disc drives, to assistance with syncing my PC with my mobile phone & iPad - even to the extent of guiding me through occasional difficulties with setting up sundry software applications. In short, no matter what my problem, I have always received 100% attention and completely satisfactory resolution from Mel and his team. All this with an empathetic (figurative) arm around my shoulder!

I was introduced to Mel computers earlier this year when my computer failed and could not be repaired. They guided me , set me up with a new lap top at home , trained me (I’m 75 years) and have guided me since . My printer failed me yesterday and they sorted it remotely and didn’t charge . I’ve asked for training to get the best out of Microsoft and they invited me just to pop in . I insist on paying for an hour but I can subscribe for £19 pcm for ongoing training , repairs . They are at the front of their game yet sensitive to the need of older customers . Top notch company

After several unsuccessful visits to my local computer repair shop in Oxford trying to sort me being locked out of my Microsoft account in desperation on a trip back to Manchester where I previously lived I called into Mels Computer Services who I have used several times before. I was short of time as I was travelling south the next day. The team at Mels were so help full and within 2 hours the sorted the problem. Fantastic service and would recommend them.

Mel replaced the hard drive on my laptop. This was a straightforward task which was completed on time and on budget. Additionally, Mel returned my laptop to my home address. My laptop is now quicker and quieter. However, what also stood out for me was not just that the job had been done well but that Mel responded to calls and emails promptly and provided informed responses to my query i.e he provided customer service without a premium charge. As a result I will send any future IT requirements to his business. Highly recommended.

After a bad experience of previously buying a lap top from a huge chain retailer, spending hours installing various programmes, and never being able to use it to its full potential I approached Mel in the hope of some good advice and a decent after sales service. Mel completely exceeded in my expectations! He listened to my requirements, presented ne with several lap top specs and offered to bring them to my home for me to see them. I searched online and couldn't find them any cheaper. Once I had decided on my model Mel dropped the laptop off for me charged and ready to use...literally I got straight to work on it. I'm absolutely delighted with the after service. When I've needed help Mel has helped me by logging on remotely and resolved the issues there and then. I would confidently recommend Mel to anyone and I will never step foot in another large retailer ever again! Thanks Mel :)

In recent years, we have employed several computer servicing and repair companies. However, in the last two years, we have used Mel’s Computer Care company for emergencies and other problem solving on our desk top and lap top computers. We have found Mel and his team of very experienced engineers to respond quickly and to explain everything, not in computer jargon and tech talk, but in language terms we understand. The representatives of the company are friendly and polite and the continuous support programme being promoted is very competitive. Just a quick review to express my thanks to Mel's Computers, and to Mike in particular. I found them through an advert in our local paper, in response to a notice from Windows that Windows 7 would be phased out in January 2020, and no longer supported. It recommended upgrading to Windows 10 so I contacted them to confirm they could carry out this change. When I called to collect my PC updated to Windows 10, Mike patiently explained (I am now 77!) the principal differences between 7 and 10 and the connections on the back of the PC, in a friendly, easy to understand manner. I am happy to say this is helping me greatly in gaining familiarity with Windows 10.
