MET Gas Plumbers are a family run Plumbing Heating and Gas Specialist. Our head office is in Sheffield. We operate throughout South Yorkshire and North East Derbyshire. Our Engineers have a combined experience of over 100 years and are all apprentice trained and time served.

MET Gas Plumbers was established in 2005 by Michael and Hayley Ellis-Thomas, and over the past 18 years have grown steadily into a thriving small business with a fleet of vans on the road allowing us to provide a fast response to all our customers.

We have become a major local competitor on Price, Quality and Service, our team of 4 uniformed engineers are experienced professionals who offer a first class service with a personal touch. Our team frequently undergoes extensive training and uses the latest electronic diagnostic equipment.

We are Worcester Bosch Accredited And can offer up to 12 year warranties on Worcester Bosch boilers

My wife and I are very pleased with the service that Mike and his team have provided in sorting out our ageing boiler which needed to be replaced (including the 30-year-old wiring!). They were very prompt in providing a (very reasonable) quote, carrying out the work over a 2-day period and very accommodating in keeping with our requested timeframes. Good communication throughout. Turned up exactly on time. Andy was very knowledgeable, friendly and kept us informed throughout. A rare blend of professionalism and honesty. Highly recommended.

We had a mixer bathroom tap replaced today by Ash. We can not fault his service. He is thorough, polite and even takes our rubbish away with him. We have used Ash before for a new boiler and fixing an old one and we will continue to use him. Brilliant service!

I had a new boiler installed by MetGas, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the Hservice. From the moment they arrived, they were professional, on time, courteous, and very approachable. They took the time to explain every step of the installation process, ensuring I was comfortable with what was happening. What really stood out was their knowledge and expertise with the new technology. They didn’t just install the boiler and leave – they patiently walked me through how it works, explaining its advanced features and energy efficiency benefits in simple, easy-to-understand terms. Throughout the installation, they worked efficiently while being respectful of my home, keeping everything clean and tidy. Most importantly, they were incredibly kind and patient, answering all of my questions without any rush.

TWO consecutive failed appointments to quote
Failed to keep TWO consecutive appointments to quote for new boiler. 1st appointment Thurs 4 April 8:30am. Waited in. No phone call to say they weren't attending. Called them - they said they had to attend urgent business elsewhere (why not call to reschedule instead of keeping customer waiting?). Rearranged appointment: 2nd appointment Mon 8 April 8:30am. Again failed to show up. Again no phone call to say they weren't attending. Awful customer service. Won't be giving them a third appointment not to show up

We can't praise this company enough. The job involved replacing an old non combi boiler for a combi boiler, changing the site of the boiler, removing the immersion heater tank and 2 other water tanks (one in the loft). The quote was fair, reasonable and very competitive, and the company did exactly what it said it would. It was clear that, with Mike, you were dealing with a knowledgeable man, and man of his word. Alan, the engineer who attended to carry out the job, worked non stop for 3 days and had the knowledge and expertise to overcome any logistical issue which arose along the way. The work was to the highest standard, tidy, and was carried out with care for our home - the company even went to the trouble of sourcing bricks to match our old ones where the old flue had to be bricked up. Couldn't be more impressed.

We have used Met Gas for quite a few years now, boiler servicing, radiator replacement, new thermostat, and they have just replaced the boiler the service they provide is always first rate and professional, they respond quickly and always arrive when they say they will, and never postpone all the engineers' are very respectful, pleasant and courteous, and always leave the house clean and tidy, they even took away the old boiler without me even asking. i would never dream of using any other company

Yearly Boiler Maintenance and Underfloor Heating inspection

Excellent service, courteous, turned up on time, performed the maintenance on the boiler that they fitted 2 years ago. No issues, the engineer also did a visual inspection of the underfloor heating that they extensively repaired at the same time as the boiler. It’s good to know that one thing I can depend on is a Met Gas to maintain and also deal with the underfloor heating in a very professional manner and at a fair price.

I've used Met Gas for over 10 years now, and wouldn't use anyone else as their service is second to none. I've had them install a gas cooker and replace radiators throughout the house as well as regular boiler servicing. With my boiler starting to develop faults, rather than spend money fixing it, only for it to need replacement anyway, I was quoted for a replacement (with a 10 year guarantee). As I'd not long had the controller replaced, Mike was happy to remove that from the quote as this was close to brand new. Booking was made and the fitter Allan arrived to fit. This was done by the afternoon, and everything was left tidy. A scrapman had been booked to take away the old boiler, so I didn't have to worry about that. New boiler is so much smaller than the previous one, which, as it is above a kitchen work top, gives more space in a small kitchen. The boiler is so much quieter in it's operation, and as an A rated boiler, more energy efficient. All in all, I couldn't be happier with the service - but that is why they are my go to company!
