Jamie transferred all my files & software to a new PC as my old one could not run Windows 11. He interacted with me and clearly explained all the stages of the tfr. He is knowledgeable, thorough and methodical and will spend as much time as the job takes without rushing through it. Compared to some of the jobs i read that he undertakes mine was relatively small but i still felt like a valued customer. He is very polite and didn't mind all my silly questions. A real bonus is that he does home visits and that is good from the perspective of anyone concerned about leaving their devices away from home. The job was done at the agreed time and cost and considering it avoided me having to make two trips to a high street store, to take and then collect my pcs and be without them for a while i think his charge was very reasonable. I will now make him my first point of call for any future tech services. One point for the WHICH website managers - it took me a lot of guessing at trader titles before i hit on the correct trader title to flag up - Our Techincian. Maybe where applicable traders could be flagged under all relative titles

I hate Microsoft, I really do. But James has set it up for me to make it much easier. He always listens to my concerns when essential upgrading is required and always makes it easier for me. i've now got an option of exploring Firefox that doesn't seem too scary as well as Google (my preferred option). James has also made lots of useful adjustments. You can guess I'm not a techy person so It's great to have someone who can simplify it all.

TRANSFER MY LAPTOP TO NEW ONE

I have used James for over 12 years, he comes every year and cleans and inputs my anti virus. This year my old laptop gave up the ghost, James knew exactly what I needed and so I asked him to order my new laptop. He came with the new laptop, transferred everything over to the new one and the set up was exactly as the old one, so not much to learn. I have recommended James to friends and family and we are all very impressed with him. I would not use anyone else.

I had a major panic recently, as I accidentally knocked my laptop, causing it to fall on the floor & in the process smashing my screen. I was on a big deadline & needed to use that laptop! I called James in a panic, asking for his help. He was brilliant & immediately put my mind at rest & assured me it was all fixable, he then came to my house & gave me some leads to connect the laptop to the TV, so I could continue with my work. He ordered a new screen, which he then fitted the next day when it arrived. All very calm & efficiently dealt with, despite my initial panic! I would absolutely recommend James.

At a time when I was unable to access or send emails, our technician took on the problem. He diagnosed the possible cause, reassured me that it was unlikely that my computer had been compromised, and set about resolving the problem. He undertook to talk to my email provider and act on my behalf, taking an active part in resolving the problem in 24 hours. The relief of having our technician working on the problem was tremendous. I had been very concerned about the possibility of being scammed. I knew that he would work on the problem until it was resolved.

This is not the first time James has undertaken work on my computer to solve problems. He responds promptly and asks questions that help him to diagnose problems. On this occasion he was trying to find the problem with my TalkTalk email. He persisted and eventually resolved the issue. His extensive knowledge is very reassuring. James has been helping me on technical issues for many years. He has helped me replace my laptop and printer, rescued me when my systems have collapsed and updated software and security issues. My technical knowledge is very very basic. James spends time explaining things to me so clearly without making me look so very stupid. He responds very quickly to my calls, when I am usually panicking. Sometimes he can fix the problem remotely, if he needs to visit me his response time is excellent so I am rarely left offline. I would highly recommend James for his technical knowledge, his response time, his patience and his charming personality.

I have used James from Our Technician for the last 10 years. Most recently he carried out a health check on my son's laptop which had been running very slowly and not performing well. He backed up the laptop, installed software and was able to fix the performance issue. This is one of many jobs James has done for us over the years - he regularly maintains all of our laptops and PC. He is very thorough, explains things carefully and clearly. He also responds quickly to queries and has fitted us in quickly when we have had problems arise with the children's laptops.

I had problems with the camera on my laptop so I emailed James. He got straight back with advice on how to deal with the problem. In the past James has made and provided excellent new laptops and computers to our requirements, and has set them up for us. This has saved us a lot of time and stress. I have used James Broomfield of Our Technician numerous times over the last five years, originally on the recommendation of a friend who had also used him for a long time. I can highly recommend him. He is excellent at dealing with any type of IT issue and has managed to resolve every problem we've had - both large and small. Most recently he was assisting with an urgent issue with Outlook email and he was able to arrange a visit quickly and resolve the problem very efficiently for us. In addition to being extremely capable at resolving all IT issues James Broomfield is also very organised, responsive, efficient and personable. I would highly recommend him - as I have to several friends over the years. .

I use Our Technician regularly to keep my computer (both hardware and software) up to date and most importantly secure. On this occasion, I thought if I did an 'update' it would be straightforward - it wasn't. Thankfully, I was able to get interim advice and support from Our Technician until a home visit could be organised and this worked well. On the home visit, all was reset, updated and most importantly worked with no issues - particularly no loss of data or files. Everything is continuing to work well. Just as importantly, I also feel reassured that professional help will be on hand if needed.

James built me a new, Windows 11 laptop, installed MS Office and transferred the files from my old machine. While here he also sorted out problems I was having with my e-mail account. My wife and I have used James' services for many years. We know we will always receive a personal service of the highest quality and reliability. He explains things in easy to understand, layman's terms. If there are choices to be made, he sets out the pros and cons clearly and never attempts to persuade you to go for the more expensive option. I think James has now built three laptops and one desktop for us and every time we have been delighted with the results.
