Paul Harley is a really nice and trustworthy person. He is both knowledgeable and courteous, providing first class service and value for money. I recently needed to replace an old gas boiler and some radiators that were being problematic. After careful consideration, I decided to call Paul to ask for a survey and costing for what would be required to remedy the situation. He arrived promptly when expected, listened carefully to our requirements, did a full survey and discussed his initial thoughts with us. A follow-on summary and costs sent to us shortly after the visit. We decided to use his services and I’m very glad we did. What a gem of a tradesman he is. The work was successfully completed within the expected time scales, with no greater issues experienced than freeing air build-up in the pipes following the refilling of the heating system. Everything’s now settled down and it’s all working fine. Since then, the full system has been inspected by British Gas, (for adopting into our existing Home-Care agreement with them – which they did). Their service engineer said, “there were no issues whatsoever with the system, the installation was first class and a very professional job”. We agree. We’re delighted with his work and wouldn’t hesitate to use Paul’s services again for any further plumbing or heating work we may require.

It is with much regret and hesitation that I am writing this, as there are many raving reviews for this tradesman which is why I engaged Paul to begin with. The first meeting was great where he and his tiler were on time and gave good suggestions on how to make the ensuite bigger, quotation came in soon after. The itemised quotation provided was reasonable, not the cheapest, not the most expensive. We decided to go with this company for a full ensuite re-haul. Unfortunately, it went downhill after there. Once the work started, it soon appeared that there were multi projects that were being managed at the same time. This resulted in further delays on top of the expected delays from the current pandemic, for example, turning up late to agreed timings. Some days the trash was cleaned up really well, other days forgotten. There was a lack of consistency in the service delivered. The ensuite was completed in Oct 2020 and we noticed water marks and leaks on the ceiling in Jan 2021, 3 months later. This was raised to Paul and after a few trial and errors, the root cause was identified 1 month later which was because the seal around the bathroom tray was not done properly. To which, he replied: "I am not good at sealing". The water leak is now fixed, however I still have holes in my ceiling that has not been repaired and at the time of writing this review, I am still pending for this to be repaired. Paul may be good for minor repairs limited to plumbing works only.

Paul ‘saved the day’ by completing my fit out of my downstairs shower room and cloakroom, my mother can now move in for Christmas! Not only is he skilled and adaptable, he is considerate and helpful and very professional. I couldn’t recommend him enough.

We chose Paul Harley because of the reviews in Which? Trusted Traders. These glowing reviews are well deserved. Here is a tradesman who attends not only on the days he says but also at the time he states. He detailed his targets for each day and stayed until these were achieved (even into the evening) and when he departed he left no mess behind. The final bill contained no hidden extras and matched the original estimate. Also, a few days after completion, Paul returned to check for possible snagging. There was none. A job well done. Friends and relatives who have seen our new toilet/shower room have praised it highly (with one well-travelled friend liking it to that in a five star hotel). Paul did a really good job fitting my new bathroom. He was efficient, flexible and happy to do the little extra bits that make all the difference. I am very happy with the results.

We needed to adjust plumbing as part of our kitchen and utility room renovation, as well as have gas pipe for the range fitted. Paul has been very straight forward in his quotation and we quickly agreed the job. He was very efficient and finished his job with minimal disruption to us and we will gladly use his services again.

We asked Paul to replace our boiler and hot water tank. He’s done a brilliant job moving the hot water tank to a different location with minimal fuss and disruption to the rest of the house. Paul responds to texts/calls consistently very quickly to help manage our expectations in terms of timings and proved very flexible in accommodating our needs. He ended up replacing a toilet, sink and towel rail during the job. We are very happy with the standard of work and the care taken. We have not found a more accommodating or responsive trade professional.

Following a number of quotes Paul provided a very competitive quote for a new boiler, removal of water tank, which lead to an extension of bathroom with overall redesign of bathroom, which made a huge difference. Paul explained everything before starting and as I kept changing my mind he was very accommodating and provided everything we wanted, using highly quality materials. He is very skilled and his experience led to all work being finished to a very high standard . Paul and his team left everything clean and tidy, we are delighted with our boiler and bathroom, I would highly recommend Paul for boiler and bathroom redesign. Paul was a friendly and accommodating gentleman who went over and above to ensure work finished on time and to a very high standard. He was very reliable and took great pride in his work.

Paul has done a wonderful job transforming my en-suite. He gave honest advice on products, including the pro’s and con’s of buying what ‘seems like value for money products’. Ended up with a fantastic shower room, quality shower tray, screen and shower, kept original sink and WC, but replaced taps, and it looks so good. Paul was able to lower shower tray, re-route pipework, take walls down with as little disruption as possible. He organised joiner/plasterer/tiler/electrician too - everything finished to a high standard. No hiccups, kept informed of progress, budget met.

Paul fitted a new Worcester boiler and recommended a few optional upgrades that would improve the overall performance of our heating system - so pleased we took his advice. Quotes were realistic and fair, work started and finished on time. Would thoroughly recommend Paul - he’s coming back to do replace pipework under the floor.

I contacted Paul after seeing all the great reviews on here. He quoted to install gas central heating into my house. From day one he was great, giving me lots of advice and turning the quote turned around very quickly. Paul carried out the work to a high standard. He was very patient when I was being indecisive about which radiators to go for, giving me advice and making sure I got all the right sizes for each room. Very happy with his work and would definitely recommend Paul. I have just started my bathroom refit and once again Paul is full of advice and answering all my question quickly and clearly.

Paul refurbished our bathroom, created a new WC and laid new waste water piping for the new kitchen and WC during our whole flat refurbishment. Paul worked really well with the other trades and kept us informed of developments as he went. He was very punctual, always turning up when he said he would. We bought our bathroom suite seperately (through bathstore) and there were a couple of issues with the taps (which were subsequently replaced) and Paul dutifully came round to resolve and then replace the offending taps. He even came out the night before he went on holiday after already working a full day because the tap was dripping - which was really appreciated. He worked really well to our schedule and when we got our building warrant (in advance of expectation) he judgled his calendar and schedule to take on extra work to create the new WC. Paul is very polite and doesn't leave a mess behind him, which is great as we have tiny humans in the house. From start to finish Paul has been professional, thorough and so hard working. His work is well thought out and completed to an excellent standard far beyond the succession of so-called tradesmen we've had recently. Our house is somewhat unusual and challenging, not least because of the botched jobs left by his predecessors, which weren't apparent until things were stripped out - all of which he cheerfully fixed. Nothing was too much trouble and when he said he would do something or be there at a certain time, he did exactly that. What we were most impressed with however is the fact that he told us exactly, honestly, up-front, what the total cost was going to be. There was none of the usual nonsense - designed to get your business - with a low price and then tell you during the work that so many things weren't included, that somehow manage to double the original price. Not only that, the project grew arms and legs and even though he was already really busy, he worked on most nights to fit it in for us. In a nutshell, can't recommend him highly enough !

This is the 3rd time that I have used Paul. I go back to him as he is reliable and the quality of his work is excellent. I have always felt that the price charged is very fair. I contacted him on Monday about a non emergency, he replied promptly and said he would come on Friday, and would email on Thursday night to give me a time, which he did. He arrived on time, quickly assessed the job and got on with fixing it, while I continued to work. Shoes were off at the front door, and when we asked him to quote for a bathroom refit, it was quickly created. He also provided fixes for another 2 family properties close by, despite this meaning that he would arrive back late to his family home on a Friday night. One of these was heating related, the other plumbing so it really is a huge advantage that he is qualified in both trades. The finish on his bathrooms is exceptionally high, with an ability to tailor the work in line with the customer budget. His workload comes from word of mouth, which is always a positive sign. I like the fact that he will not create work, if it is not needed. He will always give you the options, so that it really is a client choice. Highly recommended - Having a proper, reliable plumber, (who can bring in other recommended trade contacts), removes a whole load of stress.

Paul was upfront about all seen and unforeseen work that needed to be carried out. He quoted for all possible extras and talked us through the requirements for the job. When carrying out the work he was very fast and efficient and respectful of the fabric of the Georgian building. On completion of the job he removed all his waste material and some more which was very helpful to us. If I were to need a plumber again my first choice would be Paul.

Today I found my parents boiler wasn't working and I had no idea what was wrong. I phoned Paul Harley who I had heard was a local and well respected plumber. At the end of Paul's very long day at another job, he arrived, identified the problem quickly, sourced a replacement part and returned quickly to fit it and managed to get the heating back on. Amazing, 10 out of 10 service. A friendly, expert tradesman who saved my day. I'll be spreading the word and highly recommending his services.

Paul installed our new boiler and tidied up a tangled mess of pipes in our basement. He's a very friendly guy, and was very prompt to come and fix a minor glitch a week later (no extra charge). He seems to really enjoy what he does, perhaps even a bit of a boiler geek (don't let him near your computer or he will take you to websites where he can show you pictures of "interesting" boiler components). We certainly know where to go the next time we have any plumbing work to do.

Paul did an excellent job throughout. He replied to emails, texts and calls promptly. Paul was totally reliable. The work was completed quickly and very professionally to a high standard. Paul submitted his estimate very quickly and the final bill matched the original estimate even though Paul had to do one or two additional pieces of work to complete the installation. Paul removed all the old fittings and hoovered the flat and stairs before leaving. He also came back to check that the job was working effectively. I would have no hesitation in recommending Paul to others.

Been let down with plumber saying they would come but never heard anymore. Paul turned up when he said. I only had a blocked sink which he fixed easily and professionally very pleasant man. I have been let down badly by tradesmen in the past for Kitchen Installation, Driveway installation, Car maintenance etc. and so now do everything myself that I can tackle. I needed a complete boiler installation however and as I am not Gas certified decided to look for a reliable installer. I turned to Which? Trusted Trader and found Paul and am so glad I did. I already had a quote from British Gas to remove a 30 year old condenser boiler and install a new Combi boiler with Hive Heating Controller. They were quite pricey and wanted an additional £1000 to move the boiler to a new location out of the kitchen. Paul provided a much better quote and that was to also remove the existing Boiler, Hot and Cold water tanks and install the new Worcester Bosch Comb boiler in the attic and brick up the hole in the kitchen left by the old boiler. I couldn't be any happier with the work. Paul arrived when he said he would and completed all the work to a very high standard and tidied up everything before he left. Paul took 2 days to complete the work but had the hot water running at the end of the first day. If you need a quality plumber, look no further.

Paul has changed my bathroom to a shower room and I couldn't be more delighted with the result. He put in a vast number of hours and even helped me with choosing the right products for the size of my room. I have recommended him to lots of friends. Reliable, honest and hard worker. Paul has installed a bathroom, ensuite and cloakroom for us and we are delighted with the results. We found him to be reliable, trustworthy and pleasant to have in the house. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

Paul is a brilliant plumber/heating engineer and there really is nothing he can't do. He has delivered on everything he has promised me and I have been left with a top quality system that works. Paul is personable and hard working and he listens well and communicates well. I know if I had an issue he would be right there for me and he always comes when he says he is going to. I wish I had found him years ago. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

From quote to clean up I cannot fault Paul. He was courteous, enthusiastic and engaged with me at all times during the renovation, offering advice, suggestions and solutions. He arrived each day as planned and tidied up when he was finished. The price I paid was very reasonable, as he quoted and there were no hidden extras. I am delighted with my new bathroom and would not hesitate in recommending him. I will certainly use his services again.

A professional who knows his trade and does a thorough job. Provides good advice and realistic plans. Understandably busy but hard working and you can commit to a workscope with confidence .... he turns up when he says he will. Highly recommended and our default choice for the future.

We had a small plumbing emergency late on a Friday which we were worried about leaving all weekend. They not only came out late in the day, but once the problem was identified payment was refused! Such integrity and honesty is rare these days and to be commended. We would use them again in an instant, not just because of the no-charge, but the sheer honesty.
