Pod Point Ltd

We paid Pod Point £1188 on 13 September 2023 for the installation of an electric charging point for a new plug in hybrid car. They did not come and survey our property and gave limited advice but relied on us to work out a route for the cabling. Because it involved digging under the drive they asked for additional £963.27 money for a subcontractor (groundworks) to dig under our drive (paid on 25 September). The work done by the subcontractor on 4th October was inadequate by their standards and the electrician they sent on 6th October to connect up the point and cabling was unable to do so. The electrician advised us how the cabling should go but we would need to organise our own work for this. We asked for the refund of the £963.27 as we had lost confidence in the subcontractor and would have to organise our own work before the electrician would connect up the point. Pod Point told us that the subcontractor would come back to rectify and the cabling would have to go as we had asked for even though we had no knowledge of the thickness and inflexibility of the cabling so the electrician told us this was not possible. We are still waiting to hear back from Pod Point to the email we wrote on 4th November. We get regular standard emails saying they apologise and are looking into this. It is impossible to get through to them on the telephone and the two previous contacts we had at the company have now left. It seems they are ignoring us and we still have no charge point
