We've shopped here for around 15 years and also asked for help from time to time. We've found them to be professional in their approach but friendly and they deal with our own IT failings with humour and good advice. They have been very helpful and we can recommend them without any reservations

Had problem with keyboard of laptop computer which was well out of guarantee period. Had Service Agreement which covered labour ; repair time 1 - 4 business days. Was ready in 2 days. Replacement component used but no charge. Was also having a problem with my desktop PC ; which was not affecting my use, only that it was a nuisance having to reset the time. I took that with me when collecting the laptop. Problem sorted on the spot - no charge, so was able to take it back with me. Pleasant people to deal with.

My passwords were all confused and stuck in a loop. They sorted my laptop and my husband's pc (I blame him for the crisis) in very little time. My 8 yr old Asus all-in-one finally gave up, never to work again. As a parting gift, it managed to change passwords on the pc itself as well as my ipad and iphone. Stranded! We talked through requirements for a new one, as well as retrieve the lost files. In the interim, they provided me with a loan laptop (I was under time pressure to issue a spreadsheet). The new pc arrived and within 48 hours, everything was restored and email working again. I am so very grateful and am delighted with the work, efficiency and a keen, vfm price (as quoted, no extras). Gareth's work in reviving my old iMac has been invaluable. It was becoming unbelievably slow and applications I relied on had started to give up on me. After a day in the talented care of PM Computers it taken on a new lease of life and I now understand, following Gareth's patient advice, how to avoid the situation in future. Having previously used PC for bits and pieces, and in need of a "new" laptop and printer, went into the shop with a list of specific requirements. I had been tempted to go the eBay or big store route, but within 10 minutes all expectations were realised as Gareth sourced exactly what was required. His advice is invaluable - something you can be sure of receiving - and his experience is such, that you feel confident that you have been treated as a valued customer and not short-changed in ANY way, and left the shop all set-up and ready to go. I would have no hesitation in recommending PC as they are always knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.

I first approached Gareth of Porthmadog Computers several months ago for advice on a suitable replacement for an ageing, unreliable laptop. Based on his recommendation, and given his unstinting advice, pitched at exactly the right level to enable me to understand his points, I subsequently handed over to him the provision of the replacement, including transfer of everything as requested from the old machine. Additionally, I subscribed to the recommended service plan, as part of which I've recently received the new laptop back from its first 3-monthly service. All the work done has been completed promptly, with excellent information-flow, and at very reasonable rates. At each of my, now several, interactions with Gareth, Tracy and Dave, I've been met with unfailing courtesy, helpfulness, friendliness and efficiency - laced with Gareth's special sense of humour when circumstances permit. I think it's also worth mentioning that Gareth and co have unhesitatingly given their advice regarding my various other devices, in which they have no vested interest, for which I've been extremely grateful. In short: I couldn't recommend Porthmadog Computers highly enough.

Both Gareth and Tracy were amazing explaining in a langauge I would understand what was wrong with my computer and offered a economical solution far cheaper than others but higher quality and service.

Highly recommended directly from another member of family for computer and phone repairs. My Mac had several issues with inconsistent re-booting. Gareth took the job on and regularly called with updates as to how he was getting on. It appeared he spent a significant amount of time and I expected a higher bill than what I received. Laptop is now fixed and working correctly! Will definitely recommend to others and will use again if need be.

Excellent and stunningly rapid service as ever. It is always a great help to be able to draw on Gareth's profound knowledge of computers. He worked a miracle with my dead desktop PC, surprising even himself. He imaged a failing hard drive with Windows 7, upgraded (via Windows 8 and 10) its contents to Windows 11 in a new PC with a NVMe drive, and supplied it to me with all my programs, data, passwords, bookmarks, email database, addresses etc etc completely intact! The new PC is so much faster than the one that failed. All in all, hence the title 'Relief & Joy'.

My pc stopped after the 240 plug was pulled before shutting the pc down and I thought a voltage surge might have been caused. They found a loose contact and fixed it within two days. Very honest and trustworthy people.
