Loft insulation in a late 1940s house. Lee and his team quoted for the job in July 2023 and held their price for November when the work fitted in to our needs. They did an efficient removal of rubbish in the loft space, including much old and compacted insulation; installed insulation in two layers between and on top of the joists; an cleaned up after the job. Thoroughly recommended.

We wanted our loft insulated. It had been insulated with 100mm fibreglass 50 years ago but much of it was compressed, dirty and ineffective. We wanted the worst old stuff removed, replaced with new 100mm between the joists and covered with new 170mm across the joists. Red Squirrel surveyed the roof and gave a quote that we accepted. The team of three was with us for two days, cleared around 30 bags of old fibreglass and rubbish, installed the new together with a board walkway for future access, and cleared up afterwards. They were friendly and considerate working around us in the house. We cannot recommend them too highly.

Lee did a great job insulating the roof of our 150 year old house. It was a tricky job as ours is a ‘butterfly roof’ and other companies had told me they couldn’t do it. Lee had a real can-do attitude and worked out a way to get into the roof space. He worked extremely hard, always keeping us updated. He really knows his stuff. He was very ethical and stuck to his original quote when a couple of unforeseen things arose. He got back to me quickly whenever I called. We are very happy with the work he did and we felt he went above and beyond to provide excellent service. He is reliable and trustworthy and my husband has used his services again for issues at his office this year. We recommend him without reservation and will use him again ourselves when the need arises.

The best company for insulation! As opposed to other companies, Lee was very easy to speak with and quick with organising a first look at my project. An estimate quote was sent to me and it included a few suppliers with different materials! A construction work that felt really easy to me, thanks to Lee and his team organising every step of the insulation, from removing old walls and disposing of them, to the insulation itself, then small carpenter’s works done, cleaning and painting. All was done in consideration of my business hours and I didn’t need to pause my work. Really professional and very positive people! Very grateful for the results, quiet space and also warmer!

Disrespectful
I contacted Lee in January to look at a room in roof job at my house. He was in the middle of a job but came over, but when there said he was in fact not there to give a quote but rather to "have a look". He gave me a rough estimate and told me that he'd need to come back with proper measuring tools to give me a quote, but I should also make sure to speak to multiple contractors to make sure nobody was out of line. So far so good. After speaking to others I followed up repeatedly. No response. Called, he didn't pick up. Texted, no response. It was annoying but I gave him the benefit of the doubt because of good reviews. Finally in May I called and got him on the phone. At the time he could barely remember the detail (I had to remind him of the ballpark estimate he gave me, for example). In any case he said he was busy and probably couldn't come for a few months but that he had a job nearby and might be able to come in the next few weeks. All fine(ish): I wasn't in a rush and preferred to have all quotes, plus he had good reviews. I texted him two weeks later to see. No response. I waited through the summer and followed up via text, twice. Silence. Not even an acknowledgement. Eventually I texed that I found his unresponsiveness to be unprofessional and rude, at which point he did respond, saying that he's busy and "that's life". I only interacted with this guy because of his good reviews. Hopefully i can save others the pain. Customers don't deserve to be disrespected.

This person had never been a customer of mine. The job description was described incorrectly as a simple loft insulation job over the telephone before I visited. When I arrived to measure up and survey the loft, there was no way to access the loft due to a huge water tank and pipework in the way. I explained clearly that in order to improve the EPC correctly all ceilings would need to be taken down and insulated in between the rafters, and clearly explained the inaccessible loft space was only around 10% of his roof space that would need to be insulated. Once at the property, it was clear that his intention was to improve his Energy Performance Certificate and the small percentage of work originally explained would not address the EPC requirements. I only went to look at the job because I thought it was a smaller job than it was described on the telephone, and thought that I might be able to squeeze it in. I am extremely busy and could not take on a job of this size and explained this to the consumer and suggested that he look for other quotes. I provided the consumer with some advice about the work and an idea of what it might cost. I then reiterated how busy I was. The Consumer did not want to have the work completed as I advised him, and in any event, I was too busy to take on the job due to other work commitments. I have a number of satisfied customers as can be seen from my all my reviews online.
